  1. Yup. He is on the team roster at www.buffalobills.com
  2. As per Sal Cappacio on WGR, Bass kicked a 70 yarder in practice.
  3. I looked him up. If he's not a Bill, it seems to be no great loss.
  4. My wife and I were foster parents for a time and our older daughter is a social worker who works with foster families. I appreciate any attention he can bring to the need for quality foster care. It is an unfortunate necessity in our society. There are people who are amazing foster parents, some who I might call mercenary foster parents and some who find themselves in over their heads. There is always room for better screening, better training and better support.
  5. The Players' Agreement does not allow them to have OTAs for the whole week. They did them for a couple days this week and they'll do it again next week. Every other team in the league does the same.
  6. Nothing against him personally, but that he was a bust for the Bills who caught balls by trapping them against his body is not debatable. He was a draft mistake.
  7. Perry Tuttle is on the list of Buffalo first round busts. I forget the year, but it was in the decade of the 80s. Joe Ferguson may have been the QB. He washed out of the league pretty quickly when the Bills figured out what everybody else apparently knew. Tuttle caught balls with his body and his hands were terrible.
  8. How about some love for Perry Tuttle?
  9. I think injury is the only thing that could stop the Bills from having an outstanding offensive line this season, and they are probably better prepared to deal with injury than last season.
  10. I think Buffalo selected Coleman over McConkey because Coleman fits better into the role they wanted to fill. McConkey is obviously more polished. I think the Bills accept that Coleman is less polished and have decided that long term fit was more important than the current level of polish.
  11. Coleman Has real talent, but he's also pretty raw for a first round draft pick. I don't doubt that he is going to start for the Bills, but I also think that Brady will go easy on him as far as his route tree is concerned at the start of his career. He'll gradually work in to the full route tree and intricacies of the Bills' offense. I don't think he's going to be a rookie of the year candidate, but there's no reason to think he can't have 50-70 catches and 700 or 800 yards as a rookie. Year two, if he's healthy, he passes 1,000 yards.
  12. I'm a Rochester Bills fan. I don't know anything about any official Rochester Bills Backers group. I have heard bits and snatches about Butker's remarks, but I haven't given much thought to the situation except to enjoy the dysfunction that is Kansas City's offseason and hope it continues int the 2024 regular season.
  13. I'm not sure that Josh Allen is the best QB in the league, but there not much doubt about him being better than Tua. The old saying is, "The best ability is availability." Between the two of them, Josh Allen is an iron man and Tua is likely one more concussion away from the end of his career.
  14. It's not that I don't think the Bills could use some significant help in some areas. I just don't think with what's left in free agency the Bills are going to find any significant upgrades. What I expect is that Beane will continue to try and retool the back end of his roster. Maybe they'll find a veteran they think can be more dependable that the depth they have as one position or another, or maybe there is a young guy with some untapped upside. We just aren't going to find any stars, and probably not any starters. They'll even be very lucky if they find a potential rotational player who gets regular snaps in a game.
  15. I can see that. Smoot is more of a well rounded player than Toohill, who's been pretty much a pass rush specialist who is a liability in run defense. There is a good chance Solomon will turn out to be much the same, a pass rush specialist who struggles in run defense. Buffalo will not likely want two guys who are so similar. Smoot gives them a very different player.
  16. Beane is not going to spend big bucks, and the guys who fit his budget are not going to make much difference. Solomon is going to get a chance to contribute as a pass rusher, as will Toohill.
  17. I don't presume to have a clue about Hyde is going to do. I know, the longer he takes to make up his mind, the more pressure it creates for the Bills, who would like know in training camp what they have at safety.
  18. I agree, it will be hard for Hamlin to make this team. Delaney has shortcomings, but he's managed to hang around the league and worked his way up from a special teamer to a guy who can start in a pinch. He's even got a little speed with a sub -4.5 40. I think the Bills could stand to upgrade the depth at safety some more (and find another quality starter too) but I think they can probably get by with this group at safety in 2024.
  19. The fact that it's a night game makes a big difference for Buffalo. Buffalo won't have to sit on a sideline in the sun where it feels like it's well over 100 degrees. While Miami is accustomed to the heat and humidity, at least conditions on the sideline will be identical for both teams.
  20. Elam seems like a reasonable answer here. The only caveat is that he's got two solid CBs ahead of him on the outside, so the odds of him being a starter, especially early on are slim. The coaching staff may be reluctant to bench a good starter even if there is someone on the bench who might prove to be better eventually
  21. Hackett may draw up the plays, but I think on game day it's going to be Aaron Rodgers calling the shots as long as he's healthy.
  22. I think it is clear that there were players who could have slipped in round 1 that Buffalo would have been glad to pick at #28. That just tells me that Beane is adaptable. It one scenario doesn't work out, he has a plan B and plan C ready to implement as needed. Coleman was plan B, but that's OK. That's the way the draft works, especially for teams drafting at the end of the first round.
  23. I think one of the characteristics Buffalo really liked about Carter was his ability to anticipate the snap count. He supposedly has a really quick first step. That is more reminiscent of Kyle Williams from the same draft class as McCargo.
  24. Well, if the Bills want to bring him in to compete, there are worse WRs on the roster now that they can drop. Just don't spend too much money to sign him.
