  1. My philosophy is to try and learn from the past but never to sulk over it. If Worthy turns out to be a star, so be it. What's really important is what Coleman and the rest of Buffalo's draft picks do and now they contribute to team success.
  2. I don't think the Bills are willing to add even one year to the length of Von Miller's contract, which limits what they could do, especially given that he's already take a cut in pay to stay a Bill.
  3. Lamar Jackson is a unicorn. It is true he's not a very cerebral QB. On the other hand, he is probably the most effective runner of any QB in the league. That has allowed him to be successful. I'd rather have Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes or one or two other QBs than Jackson, but I wouldn't mind having Jackson.
  4. I understand Kromer loves him
  5. Bills - 27 Bloodied Birds - 23
  6. I could throw a beautiful football if you could find me one. Unfortunately, most footballs look the same. Also, the throw would look ugly
  7. There was some thought that a cut off low pressure system would send a cold wind across Lake Erie creating lake enhanced showers in Orchard Park on Sunday afternoon. Weather.com at least has discounted that possibility, calling for partly cloudy skies and only a slight chance for showers. It will be cool and breezy though.
  8. I suppose it would be something of a give away if the Bills had Joah Allen line up as the punter.
  9. "I can throw that puppy 75 yards. What about you?"
  10. Absolutely, the Bills need to be able to run a nickel and dime/ball control offense. I'm just saying it's better for the Bills if they can run a ball control offense and, if circumstances allow it, a big play offense. After all, it is the threat of a big play offense that forces the other team's defense into more of a two high shell defense that makes a ball control offense more effective. Strategizing in football is a proverbial chess match, and the more things you are capable of doing on offense, the harder it is for the defense focus on taking away some aspect of the offense. We just didn't see any big plays to speak of from Joe Brady after he took over. I want to see that the offense is capable of it, not that it needs to happen all game, or even every game. Once in a while would be nice.
  11. I think Brady is good at running a ball control offense. What we didn't see a lot of after Brady took over last season were big pass plays. Part of that may have been due to Stefon Diggs' late season funk. In any case, I think big plays are part of what makes Josh Allen a potential MVP type QB. I'm hoping to see some big plays early on in the season. I want other teams to fear the Bills. They don't fear teams that try to nickel and dime you to death. What will make me happy is Buffalo having an offense that makes big plays, but can also run ball control if the circumstances indicate that's what's needed.
  12. I agree that safety is a major question mark for the Bills. The good news is that both Rapp and Hamlin appear to have made significant strides in their mental grasp of the defense. In the Bills's defense, I think mental sharpness is much more important than athleticism. I'm still wary to their ability to matchup with speedy receivers and athletic tight ends, but I think they might be better than they've been in the past.
  13. I suspect that the offense might sputter a bit coming out of the gate. I'm hopeful that the defense comes out tough. I think as the season progresses, the offense will start to gel.
  14. Yeah, that's the big issue with goth the Jests and the Fish, though Tua played a whole season last year. I understand Miami's offensive line is one of the worst in the league. That doesn't bode well for Miami. I think Rodgers' body is more broken down at 40 than Tom Brady's when Brady retired. For both teams, QB health is the key and neither team has great odds.
  15. "Cain" is the spelling in any translation of the Bible I've seen. As a retired pastor, I've seen a lot of them. Here's an example: Genesis 4. I guess the only problem is Abel. is no longer with us, thanks to Cain,
  16. Since the Bills have cut Cain, I think they should have signed Abel.
  17. He can have my toaster.
  18. Here is a link to the latest configuration of the PS. Bills make changes to PS The Bills now have two safeties on the PS, Jackson and Cine. Also, they switched out Deon Cain for Jalen Virgil. They're both fast. Cain is a bit bigger, I think. There must be something they like better about Virgil's skill set.
  19. I agree that this is a transition year. I'm not going to go through the OP and itemize what I agree with and disagree with. There is a good deal of both. While there is plenty of transitioning going on, I'm not writing off the possibility of success this season.
  20. It's true that there is some speculation in the article, but clearly Rodgers has a strong sense of entitlement, and his concept of team seems to be that it revolves around him. The Jets have opted for big name talent to try and overtake the Bills. I don't know if there have been times when that strategy worked, but I do know there are times when it has failed spectacularly. I'm hoping for the latter, or course.
  21. If the Bills sign him, it will be to the PS. It would be about getting him in the fold so he could compete at training camp next season.
  22. He's taller than both Hyde and Poyer, and they did all right. He was a bit slender coming out of college at 199 lbs. I don't know whether his frame would allow him to carry more weight or not. It's hard to imagine him not being able to add 10 lbs of muscle.
  23. He played four games in his rookie season then suffered a compound fracture in his leg on punt coverage. I saw no record of him having played in 2023. I terms of his on field experience, he's functionally still a rookie. My guess is the Bills would like to use the PS to help him continue to acclimate to the pro game and teach him the Bills' defensive system. He started in college for Georgia and has great measurables (sub 4.4 40 at 6'2" and 200 lbs.) so he looks like a high upside project at this point. If it works out, he could be a contributor late in the season and a threat to compete as a starter next season. If Cole Bishop develops, it could give Buffalo a formidable pair at safety going forward.
  24. Injuries and two years away from the field of play collectively constitute a deal breaker for me.
  25. Steve Johnson was an unconventional route runner. He usually got where he was supposed to be but he never made the cuts to get there the way plays were drawn up. That can work when you've got a QB who is very comfortable ad libbing, but it tends to make offensive coordinators turn gray. Some QBs would struggle with receivers like that.
