  1. Knox is not going anywhere. Drafting Kincaid probably means more two tight end formations. Kincaid can block but he's a little small to be an in line blocker. I expect he'll line up in the slot quite a bit. Obviously, the give this pick the value we all hope it will have, Dorsey is going to have to get comfortable with designing and calling plays that involve passing the ball to tight ends. Of course, Josh then needs to throw the ball to his tight ends.
  2. I watched it. Nothing new. I already know more about all the players mentioned as possible Bills picks than what they said on the show.
  3. I saw an interesting mock draft yesterday. It had Buffalo trading for Hopkins. The cost? Buffalo trades #27 to Arizona for Arizona's pick at #34. That means Buffalo gets Hopkins by dropping seven spots to the top of the second round. The big sticking point, that the mock draft doesn't get in to is what Beane has to do in the way of salary rewrites to manage the cap implications of paying Hopkins.
  4. I'd be content with that result for the Bills.
  5. Yes, I think the Bills are very likely feeling like they are in a difficult spot at #27. By most estimates there are less than 20 players in the draft that would normally be considered first round caliber. Odds are slim that one of the top 20 will last until #27. A month ago, I said I thought it was more likely that the Bills trade down rather than up, if they do swing a trade. The other day, Beane basically confirmed my thinking. Of course, given the paucity of elite talent in this draft, it makes finding a partner in a trade who wants to move up to #27 that much more difficult to find. If Buffalo makes a pick at #27, I'm pretty certain that a lot more of us will be unhappy with the pick than thrilled with it.
  6. I don't think it is certain that any WRs drafted in the first round will be an impact player. Jazon Smith-Njigba has decent odds of being an impact player. Beyond him, I think it is a crap shoot.
  7. Watch at home with access to my computer so I can better keep track of available players and Buffalo's pick approaches.
  8. Sounds reasonable. Maybe Addison should be on the list too as Gunner said, but I think the odds are high, maybe 4 to 1 that it will be an offensive player.
  9. I don't think you want him as a full time 4-3 defensive end. The question is, can some of his deficiencies be coached up and could he possibly serve as moveable chess piece and play some at DE and some at 3 tech. His athleticism is undeniable.
  10. I missed the poll on the Bills pick, but I likely would have chosen Darnell Wright anyway.
  11. I like it. I might have gone with a different player at the same position in a spot or two, but I would not complain about it.
  12. It could be that someone speculated that Kim's health could trigger a sale, and someone picked it up as a rumor.
  13. An interesting prospect. He's got some flaws in his game. His agility tested pretty low (3 cone and shuttle). He's also a poor blocker. On the plus side, he has good straight line speed. I'd look at him in the third round, but probably wouldn't trade up.
  14. Hyatt has speed. Of that there is no question. He's also got things he has to work on. He needs to get stronger and expand his route tree. His scouting report says he lacks deception on his short and intermediate routes. All that stuff can at least potentially improve with good coaching and hard work on Hyatt's part. As has been noted, Buffalo's options depend greatly on how the draft plays out and could be veery limited. I am OK with Hyatt being the pick.
  15. Honestly? Nobody. There are guys I'm intrigued by. Adetomiwa Adebowore is fascinating. Guys who weigh 280+ lbs don't run sub 4.5 40s or have a vertical jump of over 3 feet. He played edge in college, but he could be a moveable chess piece in the NFL. He could line up as a 3 tech, or on the edge. You could even play him at linebacker. There's probably no chance that Buffalo drafts him, but man is he fascinating. Darnell Washington is a guy whom the Bills could draft. He's got to mature and develop some, but he has the potential to be a Gronk like tight end. He's big and athletic, somewhat under utilized in college. He's OK at blocking, but could learn to be much better. Of course, he made that wild one handed catch at the combine.
  16. Hmmm #53 is just six spots ahead of Buffalo's second round pick. #53 is 26 spots below Buffalo's first round pick. To me, the approach to Jack Campbell is self-evident, and it does not involve picking him at #27
  17. The guy I'm curious about is Dezmon Patmon, who is already on the Bills roster. He came out of college with numerous flaws in his game. The question I have is have NFL coaches been able to light any kind of fire under him to address those issues. The dude is 6'4" weighs 225 and runs a 4.42 and most of his shortcomings appear to be things that can be improved.
  18. I don't happen to think the Bills are hurting that much in the slot. They have several players who should be right at home there, including Harty, Shakir and Sherfield. I think Sherfield can probably line up inside or outside, as can Diggs. There are plenty of slot guys buffalo could go after if they want, after round one.
  19. Cole Beasley was a superb route runner who rarely dropped a ball at his peak, but nobody would ever have thought to draft him in the first round. Stefon Diggs is a superlative route runner with outstanding hands (usually). He was drafted in the fifth round and he has a lot more physical tools than Addison. It's not that I wouldn't like Addison on my team. I just don't want him at #27. It seems to me that there has to be more value still left on the board than that.
  20. I assume he means do not draft at #27. Jordan Addison is my guy. I think his size limits him to slot and despite being small, he's got pretty much average timed speed. If I'm going to draft someone in round one, I'm hoping I can find a guy who is a bit closer to being elite at something besides his route running. Route running is something that receivers picked lower can develop. Josh Downs is in that category too, but he has slipped out of the first round in the thinking of most. Zay Flowers is small, but at least he runs pretty fast. I can live with that.
  21. Believe it or not, Latavius Murray ran a 4.38 40 at his pro day. He had some wheels for a big guy. The odds are he's lost some of that speed over his career, but he's got some wheels and some power. He has 5600 career yards so there's every reason to believe he could do more than Taiwan Jones was ever asked to do on offense.
  22. Sure you can, and your analysis would be subject to the same subjectiveness and vulnerability to error as everybody else's. I'm not trying to be critical. You might be right in your analysis, even going against the consensus, but if you were right every time, you'd be the first and only. In any case, from the outside looking in, it's all in the fun of the pre-draft season.
