  1. They played the way they did intentionally. They should have executed better on third down, and the D-Line needs to get home, but the soft zone is a coaching choice. They didn't believe the Dolphins could win with 10-15 play drives, and they proved it. They showed nothing on offense because they didn't need to. The game was about 4 plays on offense from being a blowout, without the missed field goal everyone is talking about this game differently.
  2. No, and I think it’s a conscious coaching decision to be boring until circumstances dictate we have to let it rip. The Bills are one of the most disciplined football teams in the NFL. They’re constantly methodically marching down the field and scoring, and they do it at a high level of execution most of the time. They’re daring other teams to do the same, and betting on the fact that they can’t, or that their variance is too high to make it sustainable for their opponents.
  3. Walker was projected to be a possible first round pick until he had the back injury season. I think it's clear that we got an incredible value there and he's got a lot of potential. We might be looking back at this draft and calling it a home run in a year or two.
  4. I think McD and Babich probably aren't losing any sleep about the secondary. The soft zone defense is an intentional choice and they wanted low event football. That's what soft zone will get you. I do think they'll be frustrated with the D-Line however. We got a lot of penetration but it wasn't effective often enough. We're missing guys there and the ones we have are young and learning on the job, so I think there's a lot of room to grow. Deone Walker flashed enough tonight for me to really take notice.
  5. The takeaway I have from this game is the intentionality of this coaching staff to commit to soft zone defense and basically saying "we don't think you can score fast enough to win". I personally hate it, but I think you argue about its effectiveness. I would like to see more aggression in the secondary. The D-Line just needs to be flat out better. They need to finish and hit the QB, Tua had all day in a timing offense and it burned us.
  6. Tom Brady is a known cheat who exploits the rules for his favor. Why wouldn't that bleed into his post-quarterback career? It's an obvious conflict of interest to be an owner of a team and a broadcaster with access to other NFL teams. He's not even a very good broadcaster.
  7. This is one of the most nitpicky threads I've seen lately. Did he get hurt? No? Okay then. Let's move on.
  8. 31 Bills 13 Dolphins - James Cook has another 100 yard game and a TD. - Allen rushes for 50+ yards - Keon Coleman gets a TD. - Bosa gets 1 sack.
  9. Usually one a season now, generally a snow game. My kid is too young to go to a home game and enjoy it, so I usually watch on the couch with him and stress text my friend group chat throughout the game. Growing up my dad had season tickets so I'd go to ~5 a year. I do enjoy the tailgate atmosphere and wish I could go more.
  10. These might be the worst announcers I've ever heard. They have all the enthusiasm of golf commentators. Wow, what a garbage product they're putting out for this game.
  11. That's just bad luck at this point. Dorian Williams is fine in run support but I feel like he gets abused when he needs to cover anyone. He's athletic enough though, so he's got the tools. I hope trends upwards.
  12. They looked bad last year but got calls and got lucky a ton of times. This year they look bad and the refs aren't bailing them out. Besides Mahomes' scrambling ability there's not a lot going on with the offense. Maybe that'll change with Worthy and Rice back.
  13. I assumed there should have been a flag.
  14. Joe Brady will be a head coach after this season if we keep putting up numbers like this game after game. He runs an QB friendly system and has shown how to manufacture yards in a variety of ways. He might not call a perfect game but a lot of the Bills success on offense is because he’s not like Ken Dorsey. We just played two excellent defensive lines. I expect the pass protection to improve just by virtue of who we are playing down this stretch.
  15. This has all the excitement of a preseason game. I wonder how many Vikings fans are missing Darnold right now.
  16. I know both these QBs are far from finished products, but it makes for miserable SNF. This game is a slog. Bijan is the only player worth watching tonight.
  17. Better put your tongue back in your mouth Mahomes after that one. So happy that just happened.
  18. Anytime the Chiefs are moderately successful I'm filled with rage.
  19. This game just shows that the Bills are going to be a force again this year. Nothing going cleanly on offense, doesn't matter still score 30 points. Missing our Nickel CB and arguably top DT: Doesn't matter, still make stops. This team can look out of sorts and still dominate.
  20. Has anyone considered that he maybe just thought the boot and scooter were stylish and he wanted to be a trendsetter? He loves horses, horses wear special shoes, ergo Ed Oliver wanted a special shoe. The logic is flawless.
  21. If the offense plays to their average ~30 pts per game and the defense plays the way they usually do against middling QBs (which would be a major improvement), I don't see how they lose. The Jets have some stars but ultimately does anyone really think it'll matter? They're the Jets until they prove otherwise.
  22. I think Dunne stumbled on a business model that's keeping his independent reporting afloat: Write up a controversial story on an interesting team, sneakily promote it until bigger media outlets grab onto the story, and then ride the wave of new subscribers for that month who are paying specifically to get access to that story so their preconceived bias can be validated (ex. Bears are a tire fire, McD is a bad coach, etc...). It has to be attention grabbing and sensational (ex. did you see what McD said about the 9/11 HIGHJACKERS!?!?!) otherwise nobody would pay for it. Everytime I've heard Dunne on WGR he seems high on his own farts. If you like drama though he's the guy to read.
  23. I think the defense looks lot better this week. I expect them to try and confuse Fields with a lot of disguised coverage. In particular I think Bernard and Milano will look like the high quality starters we've come to expect. It should be easier without having to keep tabs on three very credible rushing threats. My prediction: 31-17 Bills.
