  1. There's a philosophical distinction between the court of public opinion and an actual trial setting. One is beholden to the presentable facts and must make a judgement based on those facts (and those facts alone in an ideal world). The other is an amalgamation of preconceived notions and opinion, which let's be honest, generally aren't the best informed. I also stay away from the "believe all accusers" mantra that you're trying to pin me on. What I said had little to do with belief one way or another. I want people to feel empowered to come forward if they choose to do so, and that we societally shouldn't dismiss it out of hand because it doesn't fit our view of what's appropriate for a "true" victim's behavior. Having snap judgement skepticism based on the amount of time that's passed before reporting isn't an effective way of finding out truth vs. fiction.
  2. Obviously it's easier for the prosecution or civil suit if they've come forward sooner, I don't think that even needs to be said. When you criticize someone for coming forward after the (in your mind) appropriate timeframe it has a chilling effect. Some other victim may say "well I might as well not even bother" if the immediate public reaction is to shame the victim for not being prompt enough. As to the "gold digger" point, you can argue the opposite and it makes just as much sense. Wouldn't they have a much better shot to extract value out of this guy when he actually was earning an NFL salary? Why would you wait 30 years after someone's high earning career had ended? Baseless speculation just isn't helpful.
  3. I think they've shown that outside of the Ed Oliver pick (who has been fine, but certainly not lived up to draft status) they don't really put a whole lot of value into the interior D-Line. Combine that with their love or smaller DTs and I think it's a glaring issue in their roster construction strategy.
  4. I responded above, but calm down homie. It was less than 3 minutes after I emoted on your post.
  5. There wasn't nearly as much of a support structure for women to come forward in the early 90s as there is today. Maybe they finally felt empowered enough to do so with other allegations about NFL players being brought to light. As a society we should encourage individuals or victims of crimes to come forward (especially if the perpetrator is in positions of power or notoriety). That's immaterial to whether not he's innocent in this particular instance.
  6. Hunter is probably the 3-4th most important player on that team so it makes sense. He was a guy I really wanted the Bills to target but that obviously never happened.
  7. Let's be real here. Practically every professional athlete is on some kind of PED, and you're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. The problem here is that they got caught. I guarantee you the majority of the Bills (and every other team in the NFL) are on something and everyone looks the other way.
  8. Depth camp O-lineman with starting experience, I don't see anything wrong with that. He likely won't make the team.
  9. ehhh. Ok… CB first round confirmed right?
  10. Oh no. Time to sign and then cut and then Sign Eli Ankou again.
  11. I think it’s very likely we draft some order of CB DL WR with our top 3 picks. They probably also use a 5th on another CB to add more competition.
  12. Good luck to him. I'm surprised anyone was willing to give up anything, honestly. Elam couldn't figure it out with some of the best defensive CB coaching in the league, in a system that many have regarded as too simple and risk adverse. I don't think he's going to turn it around with a change of scenery.
  13. I don't know what they'd do with him if the Bills signed him. He doesn't have enough outside WR upside anymore and we have Shakir that's a pure slot receiver. There's no fit with the Bills, in my opinion anyways.
  14. Maybe this is hyperbole but I think Ty Johnson is maybe the best RB3 in the NFL. He's top 3 at worst. I'm consistently impressed with the way he plays.
  15. It's a lot more upside than Miller at this point in their careers, and the cost is not insane. I'd still like to pick up Floyd or someone else to beef the DE room up more, but maybe that's asking too much.
  16. Another low risk/high reward guy, which I love because he can compete for a starting job that's very snatchable from Damar Hamlin. At worst he's better depth than Cam Lewis or Cine.
  17. If you're going to have a FB I think he's been fine. I don't really see any need to upgrade from him and he's cheap.
  18. 100% hard agree here. He does not have the athletic skillset to be a successful long term starter in a McDermott defense. If we can shore up everything else around him he's serviceable, but that's not exactly a ringing endorsement.
  19. He Had 8 sacks last season so I think he'd be a fine budget signing.
  20. I'll check out some highlights, thanks. I think signing 1 more vet WR makes a ton of sense with the Cooper/Hollins departure. Maybe internally the Bills are way higher on Samuel returning to form than most of us are, but some competition in that room would be nice.
  21. Moore can't really play outside though, right? I think you can line up Elijah Moore in the X or slot, so he's more versatile. I think he played almost 50/50 outside and slot his whole career.
  22. I think using our second round pick on a WR makes a lot of sense. I wouldn't be surprised to see us draft DL - CB - WR with the first 3 picks.
  23. I don't know how much of an upgrade he is from Reggie Gilliam at this point either.
  24. The reactions to him not signing are so over the top. I'll be shocked if he beats either of those numbers in New England. People on this board are ragging on Palmer but gutted that we lost Hollins, it makes no sense to me.
