I'd probably give up a 2nd and a 3rd for him, plus AJ Epenesa. It's a rule that in the offseason Epenesa has to be included in every speculative trade, right?

Training Camp News - Around the League version

Tough to throw interceptions when every corner you've signed is injured. Aren't they on like 6th stringers at this point? -
When can we start to freak out about Spencer Brown?

Dude looks like the scariest highway state trooper of all time rocking that mustache. -
Well said. Gabe Davis' ceiling is maybe 10% higher than Keon Coleman's floor. Davis is a WR4 / fringe WR3 talent who can get hot but is ultimately unreliable. I wouldn't swap him out for any of our top 5 WRs. Honestly I wouldn't even want him on the practice squad over KJ Hamler. Good on him for fleecing the Jags but he's mostly a product of the Josh Allen effect.

Christian Wilkins released for kissing team mate

Make sure you read this part then: "Obviously there's no defending the behavior of Wilkins if what has been said is true" -
Christian Wilkins released for kissing team mate

No one said otherwise? Why am I being quoted here? There's a difference between understanding why someone engages in deviant behavior and deeming it acceptable. -
Hypothetical NFL players that could be traded for a 1st

Greg Rousseau being worth a first round pick feels like a bit of a stretch. -
Christian Wilkins released for kissing team mate

100% agreed. Being gay or bisexual in the NFL is still incredibly taboo, and repression of urges often makes people manifest them in unhealthy or inappropriate ways. Obviously there's no defending the behavior of Wilkins if what has been said is true, but it is understandable when you view it from that lens. -
Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky

That's true, forgot about that. Good counter-example. -
Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky

That's pretty shocking to me. I've seen probably 7-10 ACL tears and probably 2-5 Achilles tears at tournaments. Every one I remember was brutal. -
Bills First Rnd pick in 2025 draft: Maxwell Hairston - CB - Kentucky
Bruffalo replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've played a sport for the last 20 years where ACL/MCL tears are a (relatively speaking) common injury. I've never seen someone stand up of their own power and walk off the field after tearing one. I've never seen someone tear one and not be screaming/crying in agony either. I'm not a trained medical professional in any capacity though, but I'm going to guess this is a sprain and he'll miss almost all of the rest of camp. -
Again, I don't see where you're extrapolating "his seat might be hotter than we realize" from that interview.
-
Liking the sound of the reporting today. I'm not concerned with the injury reporting at training camp. Teams put their players in bubble wrap nowadays.
-
I have no idea how you arrived at that conclusion from the interview. He's contracted through 2027. Maybe if they miss the playoffs the next season or two I'd agree with you. "The last few free agent classes have been abysmal" is hyperbole too.

Looks like he was holding him the whole way down the field, which was one of the constant issues noted about Elam. Not trying to rag on the guy, I hope he does well, I just wouldn't expect it. Fun celebration I guess though.

I think it's unlikely too, but Tre was/is such a technically sound zone corner that I think the dropoff will be less severe than what we just saw with Douglas, who to me played a much more physical style and relied so much on his burst. I don't know if this is right, but didn't LA have Tre play a ton of man where he was basically on an island? McDermott really doesn't do that often. My guess is that he's a low to mid end CB2 starter in a zone system or a high end backup. Much better than having to rely on Dane Jackson, Elam, or Levi Wallace anyway.

I think you all might be getting too worked up about "slot vs. outside" when Joe Brady's offense has a lot of tight packages and bunch formations where pretty much everybody is packed together anyway. I think Coleman will contribute this season in a meaningful way. I'm higher than most on him (although I didn't love the pick), and we need to remember this is more "Year 1.5" than it is 2. I love how candid Coleman has been about the shortcomings of his game this offseason and I think that with a true growth mindset he could make some serious improvements to his game. He has all the tools. You can't teach tall.
-
I think I'd still want Tre regardless. I'd rather take a gamble on a former All-Pro now 1 year removed from a major injury vs. Douglas who just looked like he didn't have it athletically anymore. He basically fell off a cliff. Either way I want Hairston to win the job, ideally.

I did say “unscientifically”, to be fair.
-
I'm pretty sure we got tickets to the last game of Allen's rookie season against the Dolphins for ~20 bucks a ticket the day of the game. That being said there's pretty much no amount of money that'll keep me from seeing at least one game in the stadium its final year.
-
McConkey had about double the target share than Coleman. If you take Coleman's stat production and (unscientifically) extrapolate that to McConkey's target share they'd have almost identical stats. I'm probably higher on Coleman still than most. He's got so much room to grow and he's in arguably the best organization in the NFL to do that.

Well rust could equal big turnover plays and thus more excitement. That might be their reasoning.
-
Geeze, what a heavy hitter for an opener. Week 1 could end up being the deciding factor for the 1 seed. Wild times.

Thought Exercise: Best Bills QB (99-2017) who'd be JA17 backup
Bruffalo replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Flutie in a modern offense would be a more effective Kyler Murray. I think he'd shine with Joe Brady or a lot of the newest generation of OCs. -
I don't know if WGR was in on it but I think Beane knew what he was doing and what the reaction would be. I'm not convinced anymore that he just flew off the handle willy nilly.
