10/13/2025 Bills at Falcons - 2nd half game thread

You hear about special teams being so important from McD year after year and they are always a mess. Flags every ST play. i can’t remember the last time the Bills blocked a punt. -

That was a really clean drive for a TD. I have no faith that the defense is gonna figure it out but it’s good to see that Brady can adjust. McD and Babich need to do the same now. -

This is basically a lesson in how McD and a defensive head coach is killing the team. Look at the wasted resources on the defense. Instead of bolstering our strength, Josh Allen, we throw resources at a unit that has never performed when it mattered. I usually stay pretty level headed during games, I almost never post mid game, but this is probably the most frustrating performance I’ve seen in the Josh Allen era. -

Yeah, well they didn’t expect the Bills to actually cover stride by stride. Im just as shocked. 4 breakups for the secondary this entire season now. -

I’m struggling to find any positives so far this half. The secondary might be the worst I’ve ever seen in Football. -
Ridiculous stat that sums up the secondary play
Bruffalo replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
This confirms what I've been saying about the defense. The D-Line has been playing significantly better than we're used to, but the secondary has massively regressed and is having a ton of trouble playing out of structure. -
I wonder what this looks like for past seasons of the Bills. Some of it is probably a function of Allen rolling out of the pocket. In my opinion, refs are way more likely to call holding when that happens but I have no data to back it up. Not getting any calls is nuts though. I remember at least three times in the Pats game alone that looked like an obvious hold go uncalled (but Hochuli is a biased jerk against the Bills).
-
And we only lost the Patriots game because of a obvious uncalled DPI (one of a few, really). What's your point? That the Bills are bad because they won the game, but not in the way you wanted them to?
-
I think snap counts on offense isn't particularly important in the way you're making it out to be. Kincaid probably should have had more targets in the game. Does that mean he needed to be on the field more? Or does that mean that when he was on the field they should called more plays where he was "the guy" or at least the 2nd look?

The NEW Bills Stadium and the NEW Las Vegas
Bruffalo replied to DeepPass's topic in The Stadium Wall
Late Stage capitalism with regulatory capture is strangling the wealth out of the average person. It’s pretty clear cut what the cause of it is. legalized bribery via corporate lobbyists for the last 20 years have only accelerated it. I’ll get off my soapbox now. -
It's tanking with extra steps though. There's no reason for it.

The defensive line has been playing very well all things considered. I'd love to see them get home more, but the pressure rate has been good. The secondary didn't have a single pass breakup in the entire game. That's unacceptable. You can't expect to win a game when the secondary does nothing but tackle after the pass. They are abysmal out of structure, which we are seeing more because the pressure rate is higher.
-
I don't think anyone would disagree with you. The turnovers were a major factor in this loss. I don't think that negates what I said though.
-
A lot of the teeth gnashing about the offense is because they have to be perfect since the defense isn't doing their jobs, whether or not people want to admit that.
-
What a concise and easy to read link. Ryan would be the ideal replacement for McDaniel (for the Bills).
-
I'd rather have a top 10 draft pick and Joe Burrow next season than give up resources and a top 20-25 draft pick with a wildcard exit.
-
He's not coming back soon enough to save the season. Let's say Burrow comes back Week 16 (which I don't think he will, honestly): 11 games missed, so Flacco elevates you to win half the remaining games. I think that's generous, honestly. so 6 wins. They're barely a wildcard contender at that point.
-
Legitimate question: Why? They should tank.
-
Elijah Moore could be a deep threat, Curtis Samuel could do it, hell Josh Palmer has the separation numbers for it as well. The problem is that it's not prioritized as a need. I disagreed with folks on this earlier this season, but I think it's becoming undeniable: The offensive scheme is built around trying to keep the Bills' defense off the field. Since we have Allen it works and it's really efficient. Frankly I think that's nuts considering our defensive HC. It feels a lot like we're using our strength to cover up our weaknesses, instead of bolstering our strengths to overcome them.

A Few Thoughts about the Pats Game - Post yours as well
Bruffalo replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
What you’ve said is true, but I don’t think it really negates the idea that bias from the referees has a significant impact on football games. Im too lazy to link it right now, but I saw a thesis paper earlier this year that showed how the Chiefs had statistically significant help from the referees during the regular season over Mahomes career. Tonight should have been a blowout, and it was artificially kept close by the referees. It’s wild to handwave it all away when the Bills consistently perform worse and have way more penalties called on them when Hochuli is the referee. Not saying it’s the only reason they lost, the passing defense was atrocious, but to pretend that those calls Sunday night were spread between the teams evenly and with the same impact is just silly.
