  1. This may be Beane's best draft since Allen.
  2. I think this is why we saw so many screens and short yardage play designs. Dorsey's downfield stuff hardly made sense.
  3. Very much waiting for the "Stefon Diggs has had off season surgery" post. The dude was getting mangled by DBs all season with no repercussions from referees. It was honestly kind of crazy.
  4. The defense has barely showed up when it matters, why is it surprising that Poyer and Hyde won't have a ring? They let the chiefs get almost 10+ yards a play.
  5. The D-Line always disappears in big games. It's one of the reasons why I think Eric Washington really needs to be on the hotseat. He is not getting the most out of these guys when it matters. If you're just looking at stats from the season, they look fine, great even. A lot if it is beating up on bad teams in games that are already in hand though.
  6. I just hope the takeaway they get from this season is that it's not acceptable to surround a top QB in the league with bargin bin WR talent. We need to stop crossing our fingers and hope guys take steps forward, we just did that with Davis and it burned us. Big investment into WR and the offense in general. Let McD coach up his defense, that's why he's here right?
  7. The cap isn't as bad as many are making it out to be. Beane knocked it out of the park this draft, although Dorian Williams had some struggles. A solid offensive draft, a little cap restructuring, and the Bills will be very competitive. Joe Brady will get the chance to implement his system as well. It's the HC holding them back, honestly.
  8. This should be in no way a surprise to anyone paying attention. I've been saying it all season. If you want Allen to "protect the ball" then all you need to do is take Davis out of the lineup. Davis should have never been allowed to run option routes, because he was routinely on the wrong page with Allen. Someone cynical might blame Allen for that, but Davis needed to be doing what Allen wanted, not the other way around.
  9. I want a WR in R1 and R3. R2 can be for whatever defensive hole we think needs plugged, but frankly I don't want to waste more resources on a D-Line that Eric Washington can't coach up in big games anyways.
  10. They had no reason to be. The Bills offense was doing exactly what McDermott has been preaching all season, long sustained drives that mostly ended in points. The defense was letting Mahomes score in 6 plays with an absurd 10-plus yard per play. McDermott's philosophy is ancient and part of the problem.
  11. The only positive takeaway from the season is that our draft was very good and we got some really important contributors out of it. If Shorter can have a Shakir like rise, watch out. Beane is still a top tier GM and it shows. I do feel like this is the ceiling for McDermott. Nothing's going to happen because of the run the Bills went on to win the AFC East. So I've just got to make peace with the fact that our HC is holding the team back. Eric Washington is somebody who should be on a hot seat but can't seem to do anything but fail up. The D-Line was healthy and disappears again, despite an insane level of investment.
  12. THANK YOU. I was yelling this at my TV. My gameday text group was blowing up with "WHAT ARE YOU DOING ALLEN" "HORRIBLE DECISION" etc... I was the only guy to say "Maybe Davis isn't supposed to break off his route like that".
  13. Talk about a self-burn there, haha. If the Bills are trash, what does that make the phins? Sounds like they're getting mentally prepared to be bounced from the playoffs in round 1 again.
  14. Levi Wallace doesn't get the contract he got without McD. Benford and Jackson have both played well above their draft status. Wildgoose got pouched but played some meaningful NFL snaps. I think he's pretty good at maximizing CB play with scheme/development.
  15. For better or worse, this team is fiercely loyal to "their guys". We've had 0 production from Von but they keep trotting him out there until they finally shifted last week.
  16. No one is going to convince me that the pointless Kincaid review (a literal .5 yard difference where the clock stops either way) wasn't an attempt to kill the Bills momentum.
  17. I don't think I would go as far as to say he's holding it back, but I'll agree he isn't doing anything to elevate it.
  18. Tua is a fantastic QB for McDaniels' system, which is to make one read and throw the ball very quickly. He's also decent to great at presnap reads. But he's a horrific improviser and can't go through progressions at an elite level. Once you take away the designed first option his efficiency plummets.
  19. Allen needs one more excellent to elite WR and you'd see his turnovers drop by half. Gabe Davis isn't the guy.
  20. That's not really a tight game in NFL standards. An 8 point spread sounds about right.
  21. It shows you how confident the NFL is that we'll beat the snot out of the Steelers though.
  22. He's legitimately excellent for a rookie and would be a NFL darling if it wasn't for LaPorta's absolutely nutty season.
  23. Douglas is huge. I hope he's all right and just hyper extended something or tweaked it. He was still in pads on the sideline so I'd imagine he may have been able to go in if they were in dire straights. Davis can stay out, as far as I'm concerned. It feels like almost all the big offense mistakes have happened whenever Allen tries to toss the ball to Davis so he can make a play.
