  1. Well, technically speaking, all minor league teams are considered professional, so the Bisons should count; but I understand your point. If we are talking about all pro teams from WNY and not just Buffalo, for baseball, the Rochester Red Wings, the Syracuse Mets, the former Jamestown Jammers, and Batavia Muckdogs when they were Minor League Baseball (MiLB) should be considered. Am I forgetting any baseball team?
  2. No mention of OJ Simpson (2,000 yard in only 14 games) or Bruce Smith (NFL's all-time sack leader) yet for football. They should at least be in the conversation. EDIT: @jethro_tullbeat me to it!
  3. Thanks for the post. NFL Network plays at my gym all the time and shows the games of the year every night, ad nauseum. I have never seen the Bills-Rams game featured, but I see the Arizona and Indy games a lot, as they show these on a regular basis. They used to show the playoff games too repeatedly. I loved seeing the Bills and Ravens play, not so much the KC game, except for the first few minutes, lol.
  4. Sorry to revive and old topic, but I thought I would post an update rather than start a new thread: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/31776392/xfl-planning-2023-return-talks-partnership-cfl-tabled "XFL planning 2023 return after talks on partnership with CFL tabled" A few excerpts from the article: "The XFL announced on Wednesday that it is planning to relaunch in 2023 after talks with the Canadian Football League about collaboration between the two leagues were tabled. The XFL and CFL both said in separate statements that the decision was jointly reached between the leagues. "Our talks with the XFL, exploring the potential for collaboration and innovation, have been positive and constructive. While we remain open to finding new ways to work together in the future, we and our XFL counterparts have jointly decided to not pursue any formal arrangements at this time," the CFL said in a statement. After the CFL's announcement, the XFL announced on its website that it is returning in 2023 and not next year as was previously announced. "While our discussions with the CFL did not ultimately lead to a collaboration, the effort reinforced our belief and commitment to developing the XFL for international spring football. We look forward to seeing everyone for kickoff in spring of 2023," the league said in a statement to the Sports Business Journal. The CFL said it is set to open its 2021 regular season on Aug. 5 and hold its championship game, the Grey Cup, on Dec. 12 in Hamilton, Ontario."
  5. Is he the same poster who thinks the name is "Gred Rousseau?!" :-) He must be "Gred" Rousseau's relative?
  6. San Francisco was 6-10 in 1980 and made the NFC Conference Championship Game (and Super Bowl) the following season at 13-3. Cincinnati was also 6-10 in 1980 and made the AFC Conference Championship Game (and Super Bowl) the following season at 12-4. What do I wiin?! :-) 😂
  7. I loved the Bermuda Triangle as a kid. Here is a pic of them in 2014 for a reunion from facebook:
  8. There is also an older thread here about his restaurant: Here some pics from the ESPN article in the Hapless's post: Yummy!
  9. We don't get many great players from my area, so it was big news in Chautauqua County at the time. He is from Frewsburg. (The other big news was when we got the Bills' TC in Fredonia in the early 80's. The newspaper reported when Bills players were spotted in the local restaurant, and when Bruce Smith was seen moving into the dorms carrying an air conditioner, lol!)
  10. Colin Cowherd was just discussing this list on his radio show. He said Brian Flores should have been rated much higher than 17 ("there are not 16 coaches better than him") and Matt LaFleur should have been much lower, as he inherited Aaron Rodgers and just tweaked the offense a little to make it more physical.
  11. This is what I said in my original post: "In the early 90's when I was still a young adult, I mentioned to somebody in the Rochester community that this lawyer there was LGBT. When I told that lawyer what I had done, they were angry, even though I never named the person." And then I learned from my mistake and never did it again. Again, I am not calling Bruce out. I am not calling you out. I respect your opinion. It was my intent only to simply offer my opinion.
  12. I outed no one. The person is long dead. As far as who could figure it out is concerned, we don't know. Regardless, it is the person's choice.
  13. The time is not relevant here since it is still a small community (Bills from the mid- to late-90's), and the person may not have wanted it out there. It is their choice. I am not trying to take Bruce or you to task, but I am just saying there is a bigger picture. And I am not too interested in this, but I just thought I would add my perspective to the discussion. I respect it you disagree, but I am just saying what I would do.
  14. Well the person was trans, which was a lot smaller than the general GLB community; and we're talking about just lawyers, which is a pretty small group. And they were pissed at me when I mentioned it to them. I'll let the person decide for themselves what is preferable, and respect their wishes.
  15. Are you saying he is old, haha?! 😃 [Just kidding...I FTR like him]
  16. Well, he does have to be careful, even though he did not name names, since the Bills from the mid- to late-90s are a small community, so people could make conclusions. In the early 90's when I was still a young adult, I mentioned to somebody in the Rochester community that this lawyer there was LGBT. When I told that lawyer what I had done, they were angry, even though I never named the person. They said it was a small community and they could be outed. I learned my lesson.
  17. The original Bruce Smith video is here: Not that it matters, but since people are speculating here, at 2:16 of the video above, Bruce says the player played on the Bills in the mid- to late-90's. He also there there might have been two such players on the team. Shouldn't be news, but it is, unfortunately, in this day and age still, so much so that TMZ had to "break" this story.
  18. You mean two Tyrel(l)'s and a Tyler? 😄 Or am I forgetting some people?
  19. Ha, ha, yep, all the weird hair threw me for a loop! [I'm still bad with faces though, no matter what!] And thanks for the compliment. Chong Li was a bad a$$. Me, not so much; but I can pretend, lol.
  20. Awesome! And thanks for your help.
  21. I'm bad with faces. Is that Dawson Knox in the blue shirt and red gloves, second from the right?
  22. Both Jake Fromm and Davis Webb. I hope one (or both) of them steps up and proves he has the potential to be a good backup QB once Trubisky most likely leaves next year.
  23. Perhaps, but I just read that Jeff Nixon set a Bills record with four takeaways in one game (three interceptions, one fumble recovery) in that game and was named SI's Defensive Player of the Month for September 1980: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeff_Nixon Pretty cool!
  24. Some of these are gross, lol! 😅 But the top of Kelso's helmet is a good one. Why? They would be worthless, wouldn't they? They were selling the Terrell Owens. jerseys at Sports Authority for $1 after he left Philly for Dallas.
  25. and The red helmets were named eighth ugliest uniform ever in the NFL by Bleach Report: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/889500-the-top-27-ugliest-uniforms-in-nfl-history "Buffalo Bills Red Helmet Era 8 OF 27 The Bills made the switch from white helmets to red helmets in 1984. Something about adding a red helmet to that uniform just makes it look worse. "
