I agree with your points here, generally. But in football, for some reason, it's common to do this. Teams use up K term with a player and then indeed let them walk for nothing in exchange. In hockey, that would never happen, or only happen at a really poorly run team. But it seems to be common practice at the NFL level. I agree the Bills SHOULD move on from Oliver--let him go--but get something in return for him! We should have traded Edmunds a year ago, and keep his value extending forward instead of starting over from zero. Yes, trade him....for as much as much value as you can get. I'm not sure what that is, probably not very much. Maybe a 2nd? 3rd?

Just a reminder about the NFL Draft tonight...
Nextmanup replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall
It felt like this audio clip was necessary in this thread! I can't get enough of it. -
Jets will challenge for the division this year; we are in a period of regression and now this.

Our of curiosity, why the hell are you a Bills fan? And why would you spend time at this forum?

Josh Britt unverified Breakup rumour
Nextmanup replied to loveorhatembillsfan4life's topic in Off the Wall
Who's Josh Britt? -
If he was smart he would absolutely, 100%, sit out this entire upcoming season. Everyone on Earth who knows something about his problem will agree with that. He should THEN weigh his choices and probably decide its best to retire. He doesn't care if he makes his money from his K or from his insurance policy; cash is cash.

I guess he hasn't had enough of small, undersized, fast DLmen...and thinks these are somehow relevant to wins and losses. Good God.

So let me see if I have this right. You are sitting around in the absolute depth of the off-season, waiting for something relevant to the team and/or NFL to actually happen. In this period of nothingness, you sit around and think "Gee, this franchise has a god awful history of drafting and terrible GM hires, but Beane is the best of them." You then make a chart and throw some numbers out there supporting your thesis, and conclude with a little analysis that the numbers basically support your initial thought. LMFAO 😂 In other data driven observations: 1) water is wet; 2) the sky is blue; 3) people at this forum love to argue over nothing, for the sake of the exercise.

The Allen-Diggs Relationship in Decline?
Nextmanup replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Surprised your thread lasted 5 pages and a certain moderator didn't shut it down immediately, out of dislike for the subject matter. 😂 -
I don't think Mittelstadt is in the core...I expect him to be moved to another team in exchange for a valuable piece coming back. Our problem now is we have a ton of good players, but they are all the same. We need much more of a mix going forward, and good names on this team are going to be moved to get there. That's my assumption, at least. Another guy who could go is Krebs. I fully expect Oloffson to be moved as well. I think Zemgus and Okposo will also be gone, though I could also see signing Okposo to a 1 year deal and retaining him as captain. I'd rather move on from, personally. (Nothing against him, but it's time to call it a career).

I'm with you.

What a Spielverderber!

I thought it looked interesting too. I loved that spacecraft flying along with a huge ventral and dorsal vertical stabilizer.

Funny you mention this; I found that movie to be really disturbing as well. There was the scene where they end up in the basement of a house and run into people being kept there as a living food supply--that was one of the creepiest things I've ever seen in a film.
-
He looks bloated with water weight. Maybe eating a lot of salty food in the off-season. He should be sitting out this upcoming entire season, assuming he values having a brain.

Big hockey fan, huh? 😄

Don't ya think this might make Lamar stay? Baltimore's position has ALWAYS been that he is under contract and he is their QB.

I have also rated "The Exorcist" as no. 1 scary movie...but I stayed up late one night, against parents' orders, and watched the entire thing unedited on cable TV when I was like 10 years or old or something. I still very much remember that! I swear to God, I had trouble falling asleep for nearly a week afterwards. I wasn't comfortable lying in bed in a dark room. Would I still think so now? Not sure, haven't seen the movie in a very long time.

Cam Newton open to backing up Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen
Nextmanup replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
No thanks, Cam. Here are some of my favorites: -
We have the youngest team in the league, and THIS year was never going to be THE year for this organization. Not even close. It will probably go down as a relative success, despite missing the playoffs. Next year should and will be different. The expectation will 100% be there to make the playoffs and if we don't, there will be questions asking why.

Oh boy, cell phone birthday! Rot in hell, mobile phones! Cell phone culture is a part of the collapse of human civilization as we know it. In a few years, psychiatrists will discuss a new disorder centered around the compulsive and obsessive interaction with a small computer screen you can take anywhere with you in the world--you know, your cell phone. I walk at the beach every day and see endless packs of teenagers sitting on their blankets, in silence, no interaction among them, with the gorgeous world around them totally cut off, and they all have their faces buried in their little 3" phone screens....for hours! I guess that virtual world is better than a gorgeous real beach. This is a disorder and will be identified as such soon; I can't believe it hasn't been done already. The thing is you know that NOTHING they are doing with that phone is important...and yet it remains an addictive obsession. It's odd and harmful to society. It took me a LONG time go finally get a flip phone, which is I leave in a drawer and use as sparingly as possible. You expect me to take that with me when I go for a nice ride or a walk at the beach? And you expect to get a hold of me on the spur of the moment to suit your convenience? Are you insane? The last thing in the world I would take with me on a nice drive to the beach would be a telephone, or even a mobile computer. Who the hell needs it? If I get a flat tire, I'll fix it; my car has a spare and I know how to fix it. If the engine blows up, I'll walk somewhere, borrow the phone, and call for help. 52 years old now, and haven't ever had to do that, I'll probably get by a few more years.. Rant over! I'm sure young kids are laughing their heads off..."Get off my lawn." Yeah, F you. 😀

If he's figured out Dorsey sucks, he's right! The guy is not up to NFL offensive coordinating on a contending team...not even close. Of course, we give him the job, and then double down after a terrible year and invite him back again. He'll be gone after the 2023 season. Watch.
