Josh being pressured and having to run around is the single biggest factor that generates a poor Josh Allen game IMO. If we could eliminate 50% of that crap next year, Josh could be 50% better, or something like that. Josh Allen is the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth most important person on the team! Anything that makes him better translates most directly to more wins and fewer losses. So yes, the OL must be priority Number 1. I'm sure it will be...Beane is too smart not to go that route.

And yet look at some of the games on the last day of the season! Look at the Bills vs. Jacksonville. Upsets happen! I agree, low odds though. I'm still holding out hope though, b/c it would be just incredible if someone like Pittsburgh took care of KC for us. I will definitely watch that game with a LOT of interest---at least until KC goes up by 30. 😂

Jets HC Robert Saleh: Bills are the best team he has faced.
Nextmanup replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
I was just going to mention how it's funny that his comments are complimentary and flattering, so comments assume Saleh must be a really intelligent, high quality guy. Had he said we are overrated, every comment here would have attacked him personally and then made a joke about how bad the Jets are. 😂 -
Get away with what? Stealing his stuff you mean? Where did you see him on camera? You would think he would chime in here from time to time being a huge fan, but I don't think he is here.

You hear this sort of thing FROM FANS all the time. Like it's common for coaches to hold back so they have some tricks down the road. I think it's a total myth. I think these guys do everything they can do to win each game as it comes...and then they create new plays/new tricks as needed down the road. I do think BB will be more aggressive in his pass rush strategy on Saturday. He went the opposite direction in Foxborough and it cost them.

I think it will add an extra dimension that will alter a handful of plays from time to time, and they might be significant. I'm thinking a fumble, a dropped easy catch for a first down to keep a drive alive, or an easy interception that is dropped, all b/c of the cold. Not just cold hands---cold football with no compression ability and being a "rock." It will definitely totally alter the kicking game--but that's the same for both sides. Kickoffs wil be shorter, FGs that are automatic might become "iffy" and punts are likely to be short, maybe resulting in coaches going for it more on 4th down.

Anyone know if Bills are practicing Outside?
Nextmanup replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
The cold will impact everyone who touches it, make no mistake. Troy Aikman went into detail about how you have to hold the football differently when it's THAT cold out...it will impact every throw Josh makes. But it impacts everyone on both teams. I think we'll see things like fumbles, dropped easy catches, and dropped interceptions. -
I'm going to say "pass." Not by much though. 😂

Nicknames don't work like this. You don't sit around, think, and manufacture a nickname. It has to spring up organically without thought in a natural way. I haven't really heard anything pop up this season, which is probably why they don't have a nickname.
-
Yes, but only if lots of things go their way. Think of what the Steelers did to US. They have a great front 7 and if they can prevent Mahomes from getting in a groove, they have a shot. Then you have turnovers, which can always alter the outcome of any game if that breaks Pittsburgh's way. Unlikely, but possible.

This was played on WGR-550 yesterday I think. I find the comments kind of funny. Like the idea that Josh Allen is just not good enough to beat the Patriots two games in a row. Seriously? I think we beat the Patriots as the 2 teams currently stand 4 or maybe 5 times out of 5...which is why I wanted this matchup for weeks now.

It's the poor circulation problem! 😲

Sat next to that guy at a Monday Night game back when we were going to Super Bowls. He was probably fairly new at the Elvis thing at that time! He's been down low in that corner the whole time.

What Heath Farwell said about Bills punter Matt Haack
Nextmanup replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm surprised the act of holding the ball is complex enough that some are considered "elite" at it but others are not. It seems to me like either you can do it or you can't, and those that can are pretty much all the same. I often watch holders during games and admire how well they do their job. Aside from the odd mistake, it seems like ALL OF THEM are very good at it. They calmly catch the ball, place it down, rotate the laces away and get their holding hand/arm out of the way. -
WGRZ says game slated to be the second coldest game in the history of the stadium. The gold standard for cold winter Bills games in Orchard Park is the 1994 Divisional Playoff game against the then Los Angeles Raiders. That game was played on Saturday, January 15 with a temperature of zero degrees and a wind chill between -10 and -20 degrees. (We won 29-23). The second coldest game in Bills history in Orchard Park was set just a few weeks earlier on December 26, 1993 with a game time temperature of 11 degrees and a wind chill near -10 degrees. https://www.wgrz.com/article/weather/buffalo-bills-playoff-game-will-be-one-of-the-coldest-games-ever-in-orchard-park-highmark-stadium/71-9e041aa4-3e06-4421-9cfd-37f04a857ae0

I'm all caught up with Ozark and agree it's a great show. -
Don't hold your breath waiting for Chicago to be a well run organization with an excellent on-field product during the tenure of current ownership!

One thing I know for sure is that the wind is not the same in all directions and all spots on the field. Josh will know where he can throw and in what direction, and where he can't throw or in what direction it is highly unlikely to work well. He was wandering all over the field in warmups before the "Tornado Game" on Monday Night against the Patriots and studying where he could and couldn't throw. He should be a bit more knowledgable than Jones in this regard, though Jones has already played a windy game in the stadium!

Do you think the Pats will blitz like the Jets did Saturday?
Nextmanup replied to Ramza86's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Patriots laid off the pressure and it burned them in our last meeting. So I expect BB to find ways to send a lot more pressure Josh's way. -
Josh reveals he suffers from poor circulation

Josh---Take 2 of these before the game, and call me Sunday morning. -
He actually overpaid at the time by as much as $200 million! But sure, if values are going to keep going up forever, he still got in at a great time. Not all franchises are valued equally, either. You would think it can't keep escalating forever! But then we never seem to find a ceiling!

Tailgaters Saturday Night: Keep Your Cell Phones Warm!
Nextmanup replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall
Miyagi-San.... But even with the dome, we'd still be tailgating in the cold! Turning your phone off while tailgating is the single best thing you can do to preserve battery life. I would keep the phone in an internal chest pocket under your layers of clothing and coat, so that the phone stays warm from body heat, if you have such a pocket! Apple and Samsung recommend NOT using cell phones in less than 32 degrees F! In -35 degree (F) temps, a FULL battery can be depleted in 5 minutes! https://www.kansascity.com/news/nation-world/national/article249280735.html -
Now is not the time to get into it, as we sit on the eve of a new playoff campaign. It's 100% pedal to the metal time now, go Bills. But...eventually, McDermott is going to have to get it done. How one defines "getting it done" and how long one thinks is a reasonable amount of time to accomplish that are debatable. It's too early now, but this is going to be the big, relevant, and interesting question among Bills fans down the road, unless we win it all in the near future. If he does win it all in the next few years, he'll be here forever.
