  1. TT for a 3rd is highway robbery--and yet how many fans here argued in support of him at the time!? He had a huge continent of supporters here thinking he was the man. 😂
  2. A caller called into WGR-550 today mentioning that his cell phone went dead last night when he was out in cold weather for a while. He urged Bills fans who are going to be tailgating for hours on Saturday to keep their cell phones warm. They could die when it's THAT cold out...and then you might have issues presenting your electronic ticket at the stadium entrance without a phone. Seems like a reasonable precaution: why tempt fate? Keep the phone warm!
  3. LOL. You sound like someone who has absolutely never kicked a football in extremely cold weather, and didn't pay attention in school either. Humid air is actually much less dense than dry air. The molecules "fatten up" with humidity and so they can't bunch up against each other tightly and spread out more. A kicker would, in theory, want to be kicking in extremely humid (and hot) air.
  4. Just a few hours ago they were talking about how Judge would survive another week or 2, as ownership wanted to discuss options with the new GM. I guess that was a short discussion.
  5. He's usually drinking a beer or something like that while filming! Then again, it probably takes a 24 pack to get him buzzed. He's still a big dude. I had a good friend in college; 6'4" 295 pounds and in shape. He used to drink AN ENTIRE CASE OF BEER at home on a Friday night before we all went out to bar hop around 11pm/midnight. The case was just to "warm up." 😜
  6. I wonder where/how Mitch is living in WNY. Probably some sort of rented condo or house in OP, close to stadium. At least that's what I'd do.
  7. Your mention of Mario Williams reminds me that we haven't had a really efficient pass rusher who makes impact plays in quite a while. Mario had a couple great seasons as a Bill. I think the last guy we had who was like that was Jerry Hughes, about 3 years ago before his play started to deteriorate. We could use another one!
  8. Can't tell if that's a wish he's hired, or a wish they pass him over!
  9. Note that OP is using heuristics, effectively, in his arguments...and not math or logic. Which is kind of funny. It's this simple: as you approach a decision in a game, your choices have win probability associated with them. We can use the benefit of thousands of games having been played before with similar situations to calculate what is the better approach, i.e., what has the highest probability of success. And better is better. Period. I think some fans confuse "better" with "guaranteed." Analytics is NOT about calculating the winning play, it's about giving yourself the highest probability of success with a given play. It can still go badly though. A coach can CORRECTLY choose to go for it on 4th down 10 times in a row, and not get the first down EVERY TIME and still be correct in his decision making (if the circumstances support that)....and he still had a better shot of winning the games by going for it all those times on 4th down than he would have by punting, even though they ALL went against him. Before arguing about that, think about it for a bit. You just gave me a thought. I wonder if, in 10 years, "punters" will no longer exist. The idea being that punting is so rare, teams can't justify a roster spot for one. Have the place kicker do it the best he can and move on. Hell, that might be a good idea NOW. Make better use of the roster spot.
  10. 3 threads is a charm! 😂 (It is a good video after all)
  11. Maybe he'll get a bit of a rebirth back in Buffalo and make some things happen, assuming he plays. I don't really know how they plan to use him.
  12. With career earnings of just about $25 million, Shaq doesn't have to worry about food bills. But I agree that ALL of these guys are wise to cash in on every single pay day they can possibly get. When you are paid in 7 figures, every new K is a huge bump to your finances, even if you have already earned a ton.
  13. In the thread where it was mentioned that Shaq was axed, I did my usual "Beane, get 'er done" post which got some laughs... I didn't think we'd actually do it! Holy crap!
  14. Fina's mistake aside, I enjoy this podcast every week now. Someone mentioned it a few weeks ago and I'm glad they did. I never knew it existed. I can listen to ex-pro football players like Fina talk about the REAL details of how to play football all day long. Eric Wood is similar with his weekly segment with Schopp and Bulldog on Mondays, I think usually at 4pm. Both Fina and Wood are intelligent and well spoken and getting into the nitty gritty of how to be an offensive lineman is really interesting. I wish there were more out there with different players at different positions speaking this long, this clearly and with this much detail.
  15. But way in the negatives with wind chill, and that's right at the beginning, with everything getting worse as the game goes on. It's not going to be the coldest game of all time, and there will certainly have been worse games...but it's going to be ridiculously cold and it is going to have an impact on the game. God forbid we get some luck with a weird, unseasonal warming and a game with temps in the low 40s or something---which certainly CAN happen in WNY in January. Not that often though! I remember one year (maybe in the 1980s) it was in the low 60s on a random January day in Buffalo and people were outside wearing shorts. I remember thinking "it's a lovely day today and I'm eating this weather up, but shorts is going a bit too far." 🤪
  16. Cold of this magnitude is absolutely going to impact the game. That was my point mentioning all this several pages ago. I disagree that it helps Buffalo. I think it will hurt us, generally speaking. We are the more skilled team (better QB) and our performance is going to be impaired. New England's performance with Mac Jones is ALWAYS impaired. Not trying to joke. The weather will just serve to lower our ceiling and bring us closer to NE, generally speaking. Doesn't mean the weather can't hurt NE or help the Bills on a given play though. I would prefer the game to be played in 55 degrees, and not b/c I'll be there and will be cold. The cold is going to limit what the Bills do, and I hate that.
  17. Didn't watch it but drinking alcohol doesn't actually MAKE YOU WARMER....it makes you think you are warmer by numbing you to the cold, if that makes sense. Jump into icy water with a bottle of Jack Daniels and drink away. You'll be dead in about 5 minutes, just like the guy without the bottle of Jack. At least the guy with the Jack will die happier. 😂
  18. My first choice would be all Bills fans utterly mind controlled by the New England Patriots organization and/or Bill Belichick. I mean some of you folks are utterly obsessed with them! I don't think you'd all fit on the field for that charge, but that's still my No. 1 choice.
  19. Not happening. Frank Reich and Wentz are Jesus Brothers. Frank will ride him until he can't ride him any further.
  20. Love Howard and consider myself a longtime fan...but I have to admit I haven't followed it in a long time. Howard is a smart guy and changed the broadcasting world by being REAL. Many of his interviews are the best you will find with certain guests, because he asks real questions, listens, and then asks more real follow-up questions and you actually learn the "reality" behind a certain celebrity. Most mainstream interviews are worthless in comparison. Of course then you have the odd fart joke and that turns some people off.
  21. Didn't see him. What's your prediction for the game?
  22. You can clearly see something was up with Beasley, just for a second or 2 starting around the 32 second mark. He "snaps" a directional change in the direction of McDermott, as though responding to something that was said to him, maybe. Why does everyone want to argue with the OP or assume he's lying? What a bunch of #$&*&#$ around here. Aren't we all Bills fans? The OP is a Bills fan shining a light on an interesting aspect of the game, and lots of folks get bent out of shape about what exactly? It's hilarious how easily TRIGGERED a lot of people here are. It's like "WHAT? YOU SUGGEST DISSENT ON MY FOOTBALL TEAM? THAT CAN'T HAPPEN SO YOU MUST BE LYING, OR AN IDIOT, OR SOMEONE WITH AN AGENDA." Sports fans who take this stuff in that manner, to the point of being religious about it, are a bunch of weirdos.
  23. My worry is much more about Josh Allen in that we need him to be his best EVERY GAME HERE ON OUT. If Josh has a "really good game" let's say, we should beat everyone we play. If/when Josh has a letdown game, we'll be out. We will go as far as he can take us. Let's hope he strings together one of his best stretches of his career, starting Saturday.
  24. So what do you guys think? Can Georgia hang with them and make it a competitive game?
  25. Some of us have been pointing out that we can run the ball all year long. The folks who think we are terrible at it are the same ones who write "Analytics, shamalytics" and so on, and think Justin Herbert is overrated and the Chargers have a bad coach. And the Bills' roster needs to be stripped down and made to be "tougher."
