Do you have a problem with fans standing the entire game?
Nextmanup replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're talking about an era when there was still a little bit of decorum left in the world. As a motorsports fan, I get a kick out old photographs of grand prix races in the '50 and even '60s, where the FANS were dressed up with ties and so forth, looking like they were going to church. Just to sweat out under the sun at the side of a racetrack watching cars fly by. -
Do you have a problem with fans standing the entire game?
Nextmanup replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm really surprised the stadium/Bills/ushers have allowed this situation to flourish as they have over a period of years. At Nats MLB games in DC, I can tell you first hand that you will be tackled to the ground (I'm exaggerating) before an usher will let you leave the tunnel to return to your seat with a new beer, DURING PLAY, or in the middle of an at-bat. There are rules, and people are considerate of "the fans" at large. It is the same at NHL hockey games. -
That's not true; but no one is going to tell you want you want to know anyway, so I guess it might as well be nothing. The update at this point in time would be purely about his physical condition and what progress or setback he has with rehab...it would be a medical/physical fitness update, and no one is going to talk about that stuff right now anyway. At this point, we have to have some faith that he IS coming, and he WILL be back at some point. And when he is, the D will be made that much better, assuming his 100% beyond the injury.

The OP seems to be wondering why the early days of the new practice week are they way they are. It's because these guys go through a war on Sunday, and need to physically rest for a few days while at the same time not being able to use their bodies to the fullest for a few days. You HAVE to ease into the new practice week. On the recent Inside the NFL show on HBO, Lions coach Dan Campbell mentioned "those days" as a player when the best you could do was roll out of bed onto the floor...couldn't get out of bed. And you took it from there, trying to get standing. People don't realize how brutal this sport is, b/c you aren't out there in the middle of it getting killed every Sunday.

Hot take: Secondary will be fine this week vs the fish.
Nextmanup replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall
We are going to be in for a dogfight this week. We'll be starting 2 rookies at corner and no way will Hyde be able to play. Tre remains out of course. That's a lot of shoes to fill, and Hill is as dangerous an offensive weapon as this league has, while Jaylen Waddle is a superstar in the making. They will definitely HURT us in this game. Will it be enough for Miami to win? I don't think so. But they will get their points here and there. -
Hyde's second opinion is bad news. He is probably going to have a long lasting problem...but I don't see him getting a second opinion if he got good news first time around. I assume they are discussing whether or not he needs surgery, which he is probably trying to avoid.

Micah Hyde seeking 2nd opinion on neck injury
Nextmanup replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
The fact that he's getting a second opinion is nothing but BAD NEWS for Bills fans. That's just common sense. -
Patriots and Jets this Weekend - Hope They Lose.
Nextmanup replied to BillsfaninSB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Only team in this division to care much about is Miami; they are easily going to be our stiffest competition this year New England is just starting to get lost in the wilderness, and that franchise may stay there for a LONG time to come, especially if this leads to the end of the BB era. Jets are not worth discussing. -
Why I Want to Beat the Phins so bad this week
Nextmanup replied to WhitewalkerInPhilly's topic in The Stadium Wall
That is so dead now, it's not relevant any more. The rivalry between these two teams died close to 20 years ago, if not more. But Bills fans for some reason love to keep it alive and pretend it's real. We have a MUCH bigger rivalry going with KC now, for example. -
I will never get over how much of this fanbase can't let "the running game" go... Football has mostly moved beyond that. You know why it has never looked this good as a Bills fan? Because we have the best passing game in franchise history, and the 2 best players on the team are the guys who throw and catch the ball.

A lot of fans here hate OBJ. I agree he's not a super likable guy. WHO CARES ABOUT THAT. I would add him to this team for a fair price in the blink of an eye!

“We have an attitude of domination” - Von Miller
Nextmanup replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
We have a team "full of killers?" SOUNDS GOOD TO ME! If we do not win the SB this year, it will not because we don't have the right player character, team culture, or drive to succeed. I think we have all intangible boxes checked. -
I don't watch this sort of stuff and have no idea how anyone else stomachs it! It's just a pure form of entertainment, but I don't find it entertaining.

I live about 1.5 hours north of that stadium. Every day for about a week now we have had T-storms hitting at anywhere from 11am to 2pm, but then they usually clear up at a certain point in time. Highs are slowly dropping from peak and are now in upper 80s. There's an excellent chance the game will see rain, T-storms, or the threat of that. It will be muggy as all get out and hot.

What will Stefon Diggs’ final stat line be ?
Nextmanup replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
He lowered his shoulder and drove a tackler back a few yards on his first catch of the game against Tennessee. It was one of those plays where the easy play (and expected play) was to simply duck out of bounds and completely avoid contact. Instead, he pushed the issue and slammed the guy as if to send a message early in the game! I loved that one. I'm not totally sure which play you are referring to, but there have been a bunch of them. -
CBS Crew for Miami Game: Kevin Harlan, Trent Green and Melanie Collins

Harlan is OK; he's not that great but he actually gets excited and shows some passion for the game, so I like him. Green is beyond terrible. -
What will Stefon Diggs’ final stat line be ?
Nextmanup replied to ChronicAndKnuckles's topic in The Stadium Wall
The stats are great, but what I am enjoying with Diggs these days is how he is absolutely BULLY on the football field once the game starts. He is very physical and plays with an aggressive edge, like he is personally offended by the opposition for some reason and he wants to take it out on them. That stuff is fun to watch! -
I don't really feel that way, but I know where you are coming from. Right now we are living "the good days" with the Bills and I really wouldn't trade it in for something different. And yet, without question, it is kind of boring. It was exactly the same during our Super Bowl years. I remember going to a Jets game at home during that run. Kelly was lighting up the field with bombs and connecting all over the place. We were ahead 21 to nothing at the end of the first quarter, and then sailed on to a very easy win. The game was almost over at the time it began. Is that stuff fun? In a way...but it's incredibly boring and it is most certainly NOT a "good" football game to watch. There is a reason why every romantic movie ever filmed has the guy getting the girl only in the last scene...narrative tension and conflict are what hold your interest. A movie where a guy walks up to the hottest girl in the bar and says "date me" and she says "sure!" is not really an interesting story to tell. It's the same with the Bills now. Reading countless threads here praising this guy or that guy, this stat or that, is kind of fun on one hand, but it's not that interesting nor does it hold my attention. I'm still just trying to enjoy the games themselves, one at a time, and pray to God we actually get a SB win out of this era so we can all relax a little bit.

If he was going to throw a punch at the opposition, hit a coach, and take a 1 game suspension for it, I wish he had gone over and smacked Vrabel right in the jaw! He has one of those faces just begging for it.
-
No, they sure don't! But that won't stop half this board from talking about them from now until Doomsday. Right along with "momentum" and so much other sports lingo garbage.

At a bare minimum, he's guilty of negligently throwing a player around who is lying on the ground without first trying to determine if he was injured. Dane wasn't lying on anyone other than a pice of a guy's leg, while 2 Bills were staring down at him obviously concerned, while Dane lay flat on his back obviously in pain and wounded. Then the Titan player comes up and throws Dane around. He could have paralyzed him for life with that move... F him.
