What games are you interested to watch this weekend?
Nextmanup replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he was implying it's a lousy game on paper, not that they are not playing. 🤔 -

Exactly what I was going to post. SNF should be a good game too. -
The Bills won last night because.... (karma reasons only)

Over the summer, I climbed Mt. Everest. When at the summit, I pulled out a LA Rams flag and burned it. I was told this would bring good luck in the game by the Dalai Lama, so I went with it. -
Seattle tried to trade Russ for 1st pick in 2018 draft
Nextmanup replied to Bills92's topic in The Stadium Wall
Come on man, Wilson is a hell of a QB and more than good enough for any team that has him. But as I said, he's getting older now. You don't have to have the best QB...any of about 3 or 4 studs at the top of the league are fine. -
Well, at the moment, it's looking like that was a miss. Our drafting hasn't been great; it's the only flaw on Beane's resume. BUT I'm not writing Elam off just now. Needs more time to evaluate.

Seattle tried to trade Russ for 1st pick in 2018 draft
Nextmanup replied to Bills92's topic in The Stadium Wall
Speaking of the 2018 NFL draft... It has now emerged that Josh Allen was the shining gem to be had in the top of the draft class... Cleveland gets picks 1 AND 4, remember, and they take Mayfield and Denzel Ward. Giants pick 2 and take a freaking RB (LOL) in Barkley. Jets pick 3rd and take Darnold. Denver picks 5th and takes a DE in Bradley Chubb. Colts pick 6th and take G Quenton Nelson. And then we take Josh with the next pick. If you are ANY of those teams wouldn't you have rather taken Josh? Five organizations get six cracks at grabbing the gem of the draft and total franchise savior, and they all pass. That's NFL scouting/drafting for you. -

He's more than good enough to win you a Super Bowl, and in fact, he did that. Getting older at 33 now, though. -
NFL TV Schedule and Maps: Week 1, 2022

You know, he has the mind to be a great broadcaster with his understanding of the game and what not... But he has such a naturally whiney, annoying voice I don't think broadcasting is for him. I can't escape this guy doing car rental commercials on youtube these days and his voice is just so unpleasant to listen to. -
Josh Allen's Incredible Accuracy Makes the Bills Unstoppable (article)
Nextmanup replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's possible, but drives end in punts more than they end in scores, don't they? I'm just playing with probability here. Having said that, we did a lot of scoring all night, so maybe last night, we WOULD have scored. -

Not on in my area. -
Check this one out...this is cool, especially with the Rockpile reference. Bills vs. "Titans" from 1962!

All those turnovers likely contributed to the lack of a punt, as well. So that stat is kind of doubled edged. You can't punt if you give the ball away instead. -

That's on in my area and I think it looks like the most watchable of the day games. The SNF game should be good but otherwise, kind of 3 duds for me during the day. KC vs. AZ? SF vs. CHI? GB vs. MN? I think it will be interesting to see how BOTH those teams look, and of course they have immediate relevance to the Bills, so I'm not complaining. -
Like everything here but the last paragraph. Josh running is the most dangerous thing we do, and when his running game is firing on all cylinders, it add another dimension to the offense and makes us nearly unstoppable. Let him run, as necessary to win, and hope he doesn't get hurt. Running with a big lead is stupid, or excessive run calls against the Jets won't make sense either, (we'll win in other ways) but let him run.

Tomorrow (Saturday the 10th) is the First Proclamation, when King Charles III will be announced. Big ceremony at St. James Palace, which I assume will be covered live by CNN and others. The coronation won't happen for months and months. It takes time to prepare that stuff. 100 families in the USA now own land the equivalent of New England in size. 40.2 million acres, up from 27 million acres only a decade before! Eventually about 7 people are going to own this entire country with everything in it. The Federal Govt. is by far the biggest land owner at the moment--640 million acres.

Not every time he runs around though! People don't say watch out! HE's expected to run around, hit, and hopefully avoid injury. I'd like to see a study that analyzes 1,000 QB scrambles and determines rate of injury for quarterbacks running. Then compare that to the standard rate of injury for quarterbacks including running and not running plays, and see if it is actually worse. If so, by how much? I bet it's about the same.

The website is so bad I don't blame you. I listened to S&B yesterday for first time in probably 6 months. The signal just flat out cut out about 6 times, it repeats segments that were already broadcast out of nowhere for no reason, commercials repeat themselves in endless loops until you reload the page, and forget using the "time slip" feature to go back in time, it just creates more problems. I can't believe a company that big has software that bad.

I don't recall looking more forward to a season opener than I was this year. And yet a day later, I think I am MORE excited now for the Titans game, especially as it is at home. It should be a historic, epic atmosphere. We'll be talking about this one years from now "Remember that Monday night game at home against the Titans?"

See my post above; the GR broadcast resumed right at the end of the game for me, I'm in Florida. This is using the GR website and listening live with audacy. Might I add that audacy software completely sucks eggs. It's just horrible--worse than Spotify even.

Jay, thanks for posting these! I just watched each and every one of them and really enjoyed those.
