IMO Brady has a bunch of rings partially bc they won the division and had home field so so many years. The Pats were most times in the best position to get to the SB , and history shows having byes and home field throughout the playoffs is massive. Pats only played 4 wild card games in 20 playoff years since 2000, bc they won the division almost every year. My point is that they manufactured this in large part bc the other AFC East teams were so badly run top to bottom for two decades. Been watching lots of Bills games from the 2000's and those teams were just so so average. Jauron, Mularky, Chan, Rex, EJ Manuel, Trent Edwards, Fitz etc etc... just so bad. So yeah the Pats were well run top to bottom , but the rest of the AFC East has been such an NFL doormat for so long that the Pats had no competition -- they were 5-1 or 6-0 in the Division b4 the season ever started. Net, net, Brady deserves whatever accolades he gets, no problem (In fact, I'm hoping he wins one today to (1) get a SB for Arians, who deserves one for what he brings to the game and (2) Bills need a blueprint to follow for beatings the Chiefs) but remember that the rest of the AFC East was equally as badly run as the Pats were well run. God bless Ralph for keeping the team in WNY but IMO he ran a half-baked, backwater operation full of amateurs for close to two decades as he aged, to the Pats benefit.

Bills corners are either not quick, big or strong enough to play press coverage. Play press and the WRs will beat them multiple times a game, and the pass rush cannot be relied upon to rush the throw. Bills are a relatively weak pass rush team needing to play mainly a zone scheme with players that fit that scheme. It is a conservative approach the recognized the limitations of the roster. Makes sense to me until guys like AJ grow up and start getting a pass rush. We don't have pro bowl Chris Jones and Frank Clark to rush the passer. So you play zone to take away the big play.

My non-medical, pull out of as- viewpoint is that is that body type (not compact), makes him great in coverage but , like Edmunds, perhaps prone to "reaching-type" injuries to extremities. An AJ Klein probably can't jump more than a foot off the ground or sprint , but his compact body doesn't get dinged on the edges the way TE and MM's can and do. I'd rather have the guy who can stay on the field and be above average than have the super athlete type who gets picked off every 6th game. I'm guessing (there I go again) that most NFL LBs probably can't even get into the situations that caused TE and MM's injuries, which in a way is good (?)

My sense is AJ will get a great offseason program in and be 100% better next year. And when Star comes back and takes over the 1-Tech, Oliver will go back to 3-tech full time and be back penetrating and disrupting the way he was drafted to do. Losing Star this year was a bigger deal than most realize.

When Star gets back, I cannot imagine they keep three 1 techs (Harry, Star and Butler). Unless Harry can still go 3-tech (he looking reallly big these days) , I'm thinking Harry goes if Butler dead cap hit is too big. Anyone know what that is?

Yep , if the cap is really as low as $175m next year, bills will need Knox to step up his game on his rookie deal for sure. Instead, Go get me another top speed WR to replace JB and Kroft on the roster.

Remember when EJ Manuel "threw" Watkins into that ankle injury in the end zone? I was a bad throw, but come on man, Watkins was so brittle. So good to have traded him away to another team who can deal with that.

Agree. My view is that the Bills should light 'em up on Sunday, because KC will be doing the same thing. Shootout city coming (depending on the weather, which could change everything, but I digress.... )
