  1. I believe now that at the highest levels of NFL play (playoffs, for example), the rule changes related to defensive play have turned play at this level into something more like glorified flag football where offensive potency is far more important than the old mantras like "stopping the run and forcing them to pass,etc.". The rules now support a new reality that having the most potent passing offense will win out over most any other approach. The QB position is massively more critical to success than it ever was.
  2. Beane doing his job like he always has
  3. 55-21 the past 5 seasons. the hot seat? You are insane.
  4. Absolutely, that whole thing was BS
  5. can he not be in the AFC east please? the "punt g-d" is amazing. never seen anything like that one he popped in PS last year.
  6. I believe McD is at pretty high risk for skin cancer , hence the big hat. Thought I read that somewhere.
  7. I'm not. Just get someone in there who can cover. Against the top 5 teams, Josh will need to score 40+ even if f-ing Dick Butkus was MLB. Glad the offense is far better this year.
  8. and benefits the players big time. Amazon pays $1B per year for Thursdays. That money finds its way more or less directly into the salary cap , which goes straight to the players, who are happy to bear a bit of injury risk to make more $$. TV Fans get another day of prime time football every week. Amazon has another goodie to give away to their zillions of happy Prime customers (Prime rocks, BTW) . A small minority of stadium goers and non Prime customers are somewhat put out, but they are dwarfed by those that benefit. Pretty straightforward. Players happy, vast majority of fans happy, what's not to like.
  9. Agree. Make TNF or any prime time night game decent or don't do it at all.
  10. I admire the way Beane can recognize a miss, be sure that the contracts are only one year and just go back to work and fix it. Had Ike been healthy, Saffold would have found the bench quickly. Josh's contract makes it challenging for sure. Cinci about to find that out the hard way.
  11. Barrring some injury-related roster disasters, pretty sure we are looking at a Tomlin - like run for McBeanes. 55-21 start is way better than Tomlin's (who hasn't delivered crap in over 10 years) career record and they are just getting started. Trust the Process. Go Bills.
  12. Jets are good. Bills are good, but could not beat the guy Rodgers replaced. Time to Go play the game.
  13. the commercialization of Josh Allen is just beginning
  14. wow look at the knowledgeable football (the real football) fans on this board... who'da thunk?
  15. The guy's a heckuva talent. Beane would need to have some real stones to step up and re sign him say, in the interest of fairness. I would doubt it.
  16. yep. same as Oliver. They will both be great this year if healthy since they are in contract years.
  17. ah offseason power ranking debates, now by position didn't think we'd see these until June; things must really be slow
  18. only 60000 in the new stadium. thanks Pegs. start saving now for what that will cost the fans
  19. Poona will be lined up next to Oliver, (rotating with DJones) not in place of Oliver. Oliver is a 3Tech and rotates with Settle and Phillips) Please pay attention to the details before you post. Having said that, if one believes in either Settle's ability or Phillips ability to stay on the dam- field, now there is an argument for dumping Oliver's $10m hit for sure. Personally, would roll those dice if it means D Hop for the offense. Beane is shrewd though, he may wait out the D Hop thing all the way to camp. Drafting Kincaid sent a message to his camp that we really don't need-need D Hop. In Beane I trust. He seems to play the negotiating leverage game as well as anyone.
  20. But the little super fast guy is the most important of the group as the problem to be solved is having someone to push back the safeties, something last years roster could not do, resulting in Diggs being doubled by a safety on every passing down.
  21. It doesn't matter. Josh being in his 20s is what matters.
