  1. Since they play the 4-2-5 nickel so much, why not try an occasional 5-2-4? They have a lot of DLs so that they could use 5 at times, and free the LBs to tackle if nothing else. When the opposing OL is pushing the Bills DL 3-4 yards down the field, it matters little if it's nickel or not back there. Since the Jets game, the Bills O have used the FB a lot more and added a 6th OL a few times too. Try something different on the D when facing run heavy teams!
  2. I still recall wanting to fight half the bar when the "Music City Miracle" happened LOL
  3. It seems that way to me too. He can make GREAT gameplans at times, but shows little ability to adjust during games. Watching the Bucs on MNF yesterday, so many sweeps, short passes, quick outs, then a big play, and so on. Even the obvious run plays they could have 3 backs with Brady, so defenses don't even know which to tackle. Not one thing works so magically for them, but it's the constant guessing by the defense. The Bills O have the tools, and all this protects the OL, which is a weak point yes, but they are asked to do too much IMO. Allen keeps runing for his life this year. Last yeat he had time to throw. Why did that fall off I have no clue but gameplan for it! The Bills D still can get pushed around by strong running teams, that's roster, not schemes. Recall on Sunday it was the only time the Bills were behind at half time this year! Hence why we didn't see that many run heavy offense against them. What about playing FIVE defensive linemen at times? Free Milano and Klein to make the tackle. And they have so many DLs, it can be done, once in a while.
  4. Well. Im that guy ha ha. If they lose again on Thursday now I'll really go crazy and foaming at the mouth. Win this one and the two Pats game and they're in!
  5. That wasn't an "off game" by the defense in that some key mistakes were made, too many penalties, blown coverages and all. No, they got run all over them, even when it was obvious to all the Colts would run. That was an issue in the past, and sadly, we saw it still is. When Star is back, and when Edmunds is back, having a 3 LB set with Klein also playing most snaps... that can sure help. But bottomline, the Colts OL manhandled badly the Bills DL.
  6. A lot of us have been saying it. But Edmunds was injured. But yeah for heavy running teams such as the Colts, Pats, Ravens, having Klein-Milano-Edmunds would make sense. Star would have helped too. But still, 274 yards rushing? The Colts OL pushed the Bills DL like they were lightweights. DL and OL are the weak points of the Bills. For the DL it's stings more as so much money is invested in it, and so many roster spots taken.
  7. It's the first time in a loooooong while they've been crushed. So of course we are all dejected. Everything seemed to be going bad at once, except for injuries (thankfully). This game to me was a test to see if the D could stop runs down the middle by a great OL. They still can't, and it sucked. That's the scary takeaway from this game. The O has been hit and miss all season long, mostly good than bad, but inconsistant. IDK exactly why besides the OL gives little time to pass plays and opens few holes on run plays. Many other things but it starts there. And yes, I certainly think the Bills can make the playoffs, and thus have a chance at the SB. So I'll go on record stating it. But what has changed is that once it almost was a given barring injuries and bad luck, while it's now a struggle and no certainty to make it in the playoff dance.
  8. They sure are, or were. Even at the bottom of the division at 2-3 when facing the Bills the NFL had them at 3 in power rankings! Let's not sugarcoat it: their offense is scary and they can beat anyone The Cheats are unexpected, and well, on a roll. Scary for sure. The two Bills game against them looked to be meaningless at the start of the season. Now they become statement games, with the Bills needing to bury them to win the AFCE.
  9. This is GREAT. We've been saying it all week - and before. It's fine to say the OL is weak and all, but gameplan to help them! And that's what Daboll did this time. Bills have been so diverse that it helps whatever happens next.
  10. Saunders and Davis are awesome... but do not play the same role as Beasley. McKenzie just isn't his caliber for slot, just like Beasley couldn't do the sweeps McKenzie does. And why are we talking about next year anyway ha ha
  11. I had just mentioned to my son that Josh had missed seeing the pass rusher twice already and BOUM, get hits unaware by one coming from his right side. Almost weird. Only coaches know who to blame on this play, but typically, yes you'd expect the RB to block, chip, or at least yell that he's open.
  12. It's not normal at all most of us fans know this... and some players don't!
  13. What about when the receiver touches down twice but with the same foot before going out of bounds? I think it was Sanders or maybe Davis that did it yesterday. It seems to count as a catch if the call was right
  14. He rarely misses tackles, and yesterday he was near 'gentle' doing so compared to some of the hits he brings ha ha. I'd like at times for him to play along Edmunds and Milano, he has done so probably less than a dozen times... but then the Bills D is clicking so why change it? Maybe against run heavy offenses like the Pats* and the Ravens (... or Tennessee) Some people forget he was named DPOW last year!
  15. They both lost. Lions couldn't get their first win, and Steelers tied with a 0-8 team. Great ha ha! Even if a Detroit win would have been better. As they said during the Bills game, the SB winners of the last 3 years had very suspect W-L mid season, Buck were 7-5 after 12 games last year! Watch other games and you'll appreciate the Bills players and coaches fairly fast!
  16. Super video analysis as always by Cover1. The point about the RPO is quite a good one too. That's for run blocking. Extra blocker could help for the run plays, but of course also for pass protection. Daboll has to gameplan to give the OL some help a lot of times, in non predictable ways.
  17. According to an article, he had the knee issue all year. He was still something to behold when running free to get to a ball carrier. He's so fast for his size.
  18. Dude, he had a threatening posture. You'd not want these 53 Steelers protected (plus coaches and staff) from this one mean mugging guy? I felt the terror. Zero tolerance for intimidation! I'll go cry in my safe place now. I had watched that video a few days back and came away unconvinced TBH. Retired players often are sour as they've lost all the surrounding folks taking care of them and all. Some favoritism possible? Sure. But nope, nothing THAT blatant IMO. Anyway, that video didn't convince me at all. You can boo me all you want for that price tag ha ha
  19. That, for sure, and added blockers for more protection from time to time! OL is the weak point, but the gameplan is not helping them at all. OK those were bad times ha ha, but recall when sometimes only Watkins and one other WR ran routes while all blocked? As the opposing defenses can't know when it will happen, they can't just double or triple the receivers. Usually it's a bad idea to blitz Allen but more will do so against a weak OL that has barely blocking help and empty backfields. As for Josh, it's like he has some bad plays and some great ones, but instead of being a good and bad game, it happens in the same game, and out of sequence too. I'm basically saying he doesn't seem to have the same groove, or consistant momentum, but no, he has not "sucked" except maybe the 1st game, even so, it's compared to what is expected of him, not compared to a Losman or Edwards...
  20. Yes it does. This way NO room for judgment calls. Which are the reason this discussion here exists.
  21. Lack of repays was frustrating. MAYBE some of the penalties were warranted but let the fans know! Case in point: I too thought Dawkins UR was BS, as they didn't show the hammer drop on TV. He deserved it but that sure was not the impression at the time. Still, what a bad ref crew.
  22. I don't understand how they spend 100s of millions, yet can't built enough restrooms or food stalls. How does it help their bottom lone to make fans pissed off and prefer to stay home? With so many options available now, make it a great experience for live paying attendees! Sure it "costs" them slightly more but it's an investment, not a cost. Again, they put 100s of millions. Bad place to cheap out on.
  23. Th e refs did not cost the game but were truy horrible. Worst reffing I've seen in a ling while..and there's been many bad ones this year. Why I have no idea though. But what a way to start the game. A penalty on Trubinski (!), then the total reversal on giving to White. It set the tone...
  24. It's just weird that in some games, the coaches clearly outsmart the others, and in some like this one, it's like WTH. On offense mainly. Defense only allowed 9 points. I guess the steam comes because in a few games like Steelers and this one, the gameplan seems to bury the Bills, not necessarily the other team. Hum, that's not accurate. What would be is the Bills O does NOT adapt to what is going on, except least week. Yes the OL is damn weak. Who doesn't know that? You think Daboll doesn't? Then why let a weak OL that has injuries and guys playing out of their usual positions, forced to play without help? No Knox but put the FB, an extra OL once in a while, screens, leave a back to block, etc. Don't expose the weak point!
  25. The OL is full of injuries and guys playing out of position. Excuses? No, a reality Daboll has to plan for. Jags were intelligent enough to blitz a lot, knowing without Knox all those empty back sets would leave someone unblocked. Usually blitzing against Josh is not good, but today was the time to do it... and for the Bills to adjust. Yes OUR Josh Allen didn't play great but he was running back there all the time. I won't praise the OL but you got to help them with the gameplan!
