  1. Nope. NOT if the Bills make the playoffs and turn it around. Yes if they don't. THIS game isn't that significant. The season end result is. A team among the favorites to win it all that wouldn't even make the playoffs, of course some changes are bound to be made. They turn it around till then - STILL POSSIBLE!!! - and everyone is a hero again. Some wind caused drops, some pressure in the face of Josh just as he had a receiver opened for a TD... it was very much close to a W. Winning or losing is often separated by a tiny margin, and it was yesterday. These coaches are maddening as they do a LOT of things right. But no 5 DLs to stop SUPER OBVIOUS run plays when the front 4 is pushed around? Almost no designed QB runs on a game where it was needed, no sweeps (not only McKenzie can do that!), no good trap blocks, WTH was that? What Belichick is master of, is causing dissension and disarray in his opponents. McD imploded in the post game conference. But a win vs the Bucs and it's all in the past. Are the Bills on the edge of disaster? Of course! But I can't stand all the defeatists among the fans. They can still win 4 out 5, get in the big dance and make a huge splash. Likely? No. But they have still a real fighting chance. A real one. Edit: and the Cheats have a tough schedule ahead. They are not THAT dominant! The Bills can beat them next time, and beat the Jets, and then would have the tie breaker. Of course, they also need at least one if not two other wins, but don't suppose the Cheats are going undefeated!
  2. I was intelligent to have all 3 RBs for this game IMO. But why not confuse the Cheats D by having all 3 on one play? Use some misdirections on run plays damn it!
  3. Knox and Diggs could have had TDs. I think it was Diggs or Beasley completely open at the end of the game but Josh had to scramble as again 2 guys came free at him. Basically... a great designed play that the players couldn't execute. Bills could have won this, let's be real here. I get the frustartion, as I'm POed AF. But the gameplan almost worked. That "almost" is the frustrating part. Overall, pretty good plan except for two things. One, why not put 5 DLs when it was OBVIOUS that ALL the Cheats plays would be runs going into the wind? And two, vary the runs: trap blocks, sweeps, Josh designed runs. Straight power football down the middle is definitely NOT the Bills strength...
  4. Why didn't the Bills put 5 DLs when it was obvious the Cheats would run going into the wind? I don't get it. BB did the "we'll run until you stop us or we'll keep doing it" and it worked.
  5. It's not weirs that a division rival that's close would have fans travel. But I'm still surprised they can buy so many seats. This ain't LA or Jacksonville ha ha
  6. Quick quiz: how many teams have an OL as good as the Colts? Zero? 1? 2? All teams have missing pieces! Salary cap, all 32 teams looking for top talent... Yeah the OL should be improved but to say "Beane has failed"... What? As this never happens. Newsflash: it happens, every year, all around the league. Come on, get a grip you guys. This game is super important, and you're d amn right I want the Bills to win it, but it's not a playoff game, and not do or die... yet. Just that losing gets the Bills no margins of error to make the big dance, it's a moral blow and all that. I expected the media to be all over the Pats but this board? It's not a Brady led 16-0 team here!
  7. I don't have total paranoia... but I do feel like many penalties against the Bills are somehow not shown with replays when facing this particular team...
  8. Not "it". But you did list the best. CN and TJ did a great duo for reviewing all the games
  9. Bah. Let them have fun. It's only annoying cause it takes a long time and it's boring. As for some teams doing in the 3rd quarter when behind... well the game ain't over yet!
  10. Been a fan since 94 and just before getting on the site I realized I'M IN LOVE ha ha. So this thread fits. I feel such a bond to the team, the fans, all of it. I recall a few years back realizing how I love my kids, GF, Josh and the Bills. That GF is gone ha ha. Not anyone else But losses can make it sometimes feel like “I’ve been kidnapped, locked in an underground bunker and repeatedly abused”
  11. With Tre gone and the long week, I hope that against a heavy running team like the Cheats that they will play 5 DLs at times, and/or play Klein along Edmunds and Milano. No need for dime packages all the time. Not because the secondary has been anything but top notch this year, they are one of THE best in the league, but they need more big bodies upfront against the run. Run D as Run O are the Bills weak points. Address it with the game planning.
  12. I typically don't get all the P*TSD around here... but I'm feeling it too these days, seeing them at the top of the division! Recall when after the Chiefs game, the concern was the Bills had an easy schedule till the Bucs, that it would be hard for them to remain focused? Talk about overconfidence... But at least the Bills can handle it! Sweep the Pats* and the Jets, and playoffs are a sure thing
  13. Beasley played with a broken leg. He does with a PCL. And so do many players. Yet most fans demean them. Hopefully their teammates appreciate and they get compensated
  14. More Kent Clark than Superman, IMO And McCaffrey was simply overused. In the past, IDK about now.
  15. I agree... but the Bills do need to... stop the run! Putting 5 DLs at times, often using 54 along 49 & 58 on 1st downs. Make them throw! If White is down, using 5-2-4 and 4-3-4 instead of the so far usual 4-2-5 could help stop the run. Not for all teams, but the heavy running teams like Pats, Colts, Titans, Ravens. Bills have more weapons. They should win.
  16. This When you play defense, if the OL is pushing and going downfield, you KNOW it's a running play. As defensive players, it's part of your read. And as mentioned, the OL blocking DBs downfield would be, hum, dangerous for the DBs' health ha ha. On the penalty called on the Bills, I can understand the guys downfield, they had no one in front of them! But it was the right call regardless.
  17. Yes but it has to be drilled, practiced. This game, as in the Jets game, we saw more FB time, an extra blocker, etc. And in this Saints game the Bills used way more short passes, sweeps, even one 3 "backs" set. And... it worked. Very few long passes but they moved the ball at will. If they can mix back the long plays more as well, this is gold. Josh was still being forced to be a moving pocket way too often though. But anything that helps the OL, do it!
  18. Yikes. Likely true. Though the cities have a say in this. But it's the modern way to do it: don't break the rules, just rewrite them first.
  19. Have fun! My GF made me realize the "no mask" aspect of the crowd, the simple normality of it all. So good to see people celebrating, having wholesome fun, in groups, free, bonding, being... humans ha ha. A victory to top this off is what I wish you and all of us!
  20. Henry was still a beast even with just one long run, and it made for tons of passes out of play action, but it was mostly HIM the factor. While with the Colts, yes Taylor is very very good, but it's the 5 guys on the OL that were the stars IMO. They could have made zero passes and won! Edmunds was out, put as mentioned in this thread and others, put the occasional 5 DL, so 5-2-4 instead of 4-3-4 (or 4-2-5). The Bills secondary is among the very best in the NFL, but why not, you know, help them by stopping the run on early downs so they make even more plays.
  21. Oh so as your screenname indicates, you're a heels guy, not a toe guy. OK then
  22. These videos pumped me up so much I noticed I have teary eyes now ha ha GO BILLS
  23. Amazing. That's a HUGE number. I need to join the rank of travelling Bills fans next year Life goals getting clearer now ha ha
  24. ALL teams have weak spots. ALL. Who are the undefeated teams in the NFL?... Yeah, none. Salary cap is there for a reason. "I think he saw the O-line and RB situation as "good enough." " For sure. Not that he liked it, but he made that gamble with all the other pieces he had to take care... and with whom were AVAILABLE. Too many fans think there is this mystical magical shelve with great players you just pick from. Most great players are locked and unavailable! Salary cap or not, 32 teams want great players. So I would agree he made some gambles, but he had to make tough choices. It comes with his job. To say he didn't make much of an effort is quite the stretch! And, BTW guys, this season is not over yet. If they win it all like last year to close out the year, Beane will be a genius again. If they don't make the playoffs... PITCHFORK
  25. Well, if it cleans up their act and stop them acting from a place of impunity, which is the root of all evil, then fine by me. I don't want all details, nor the league to hurt. But if it's temporarily wounded to heal better, as in some of the top echelon guys feeling the heat, good. All fans, players, former players, coaches, etc. want to feel good about it all. Normal human reaction. And in this case discussed on the thread, it's to NOT have the Bills move! So I think it matters.
