  1. I agree. But not for yesterday! With no Kincaid and Palmer out, they needed to go to a run heavy set. And they started the 3rd quarter with that, and voilà. It worked. Then they stopped doing it. WTH. Plus, against the blitz, more screen plays. And why not bring back the 6 Oline package that worked so well last year? Hawk can still be there. They have all the tools to run it down the other teams' throats. Last year, they used the run to open up the pass. It still is the best approach. But yeah, throw it deep too once in a while.
  2. I'm all for rotating him. 80% overall is too much (but Jones got hurt during warmup, no time to make up for it). But yesterday in that 2nd half, it was as puzzling as taking Cook out. He was simply HOT and bam, you take him out on 3rd down. Makes no sense. You ride the hot hand. If the D gets off the field he has all the rest he needs!
  3. Last year they started 3-0 and then were 3-2. This year it's 4-0 then 4-2. Remember when they were 7-6 and won all the other games in a row? That being said, no, I'm not fully convinced they make the playoffs. They could be the #1 seed or not even make it. No guarantees. But I'd say the odds are gerat they had least make it to the dance. In both these losses, it's clear they could have won with a play here and there, an opportunity taken, etc. And mostly, with better PLAYCALLS. That can be done, from this point on. Now, will they do it? We'll see. But not like they were blown out here.
  4. Taking out Cook too much when you're down makes no sense. But yesterday it was worse, with the momentum he had, and how the Falcons were "overusing" Robinson. With all the blitzes the Falcons were doing, why not, you know, use the classic counter of a sweep pass to Cook while the wideouts have run deep to create space? They started the 2nd half with Hawks and Gilliam, and it worked. Then... no more running game. Why? It was instead time to bring back the 6th OLine package. With Hawk as well, talk about a running game heaven! Shavers can block well (he had a BAD 1st half but good second), and Knox and even Kincaid too. And the Oline is much better than in the past. You do NOT need to get "cute" to pick 1 or 2 yards! It's maddening. As for the D, I just don't get how they often get blown up in the 1st half yet adjust well in the 2nd. Why the wait?
  5. The Chiefs looked like champions yesterday, but they're 3-3. The defending champion Eagles got their asses kicked by the Giants on Thursday and are 4-2 too. Ravens 1-5 (!) I'm really mad at the coaches, but the fans are so over the top. Colts, Steelers, they're not that scary! Sure, neither are the Bills right now. But it's not over yet!
  6. DLine is better. And you listed QB, OLine, TE, RB. That's a pretty good list. But yeah, WR, LB and secondary... ouch. ALL teams have weaknesses. The thing is, can the coaching staff overcome them? Can some average roster spots not be a liability? Jury is not completely set yet IMO. And now two DLinemen come back from suspension.
  7. That's fine. But NOT when the team is behind and needs a score! Stop the "cute" plays when you need 1-2 yards and hand it off to Cook, or a Josh run, you know trusting these two stars AND THE BLOCKERS. A few years ago, they needed the cute plays. The OLine couldn't push the pile. They can now. Have confidence in them!
  8. I'm POed and have lost a lot of confidence in this team. But let's not forget last year. The Bills started 3 - 0. And then, lost 2 in a row, including a brutal loss to the Ravens. They weren't outclassed by the Pats and Falcons. They "just" made key mistakes, both the players and the coaches. Miscues. Penalties. Bad play calls. They just showed they lack a lot of stuff. But you guys forget the mighty Chiefs (in your eyes the best of the best) are 3-3. The Superbowl champ Eagles just got whooped by the Giants.
  9. Yesterday, the Cheaps indeed looked like a Superbowl team again. It was scary and maddening ha ha. But the Bills looked the part too in their wins. They looked unstoppable. These last two games that have looked so beatable and it sucks.
  10. You wrote "This season is lost anyway". Go to bed and maybe wake up with some guts. I'm POed too at soooo many aspects, but to say the season is over? Wow.
  11. Hey, I admit, I think - or thought...- Ty Johnson is a crazy good 3rd back. Almost an extra receiver. But this year, not so muchfor some reason. Davis has been good for these little swing passes (use them again!) but not as a RB between th tackles. Use Cook more, period. And when they need 1 or 2 yards, TRUST THE OLINE! They never do and get cute. Enough already.
  12. I think he does a good job overall, but ALL the things you listed he is guilty of. These cute plays when they need 1 or 2 yards... That OLINE IS GOOD NOW. Not like 3 years ago. Run it down the middle will ya! And in the second half, the run heavy set with Giliiam, Hawk and Shavers (and COOK) worked. Why did they get away from it? I just don't get it. With all the receivers down and no Kincaid, I expected some 6 OLine set, with Hawk in there too!
  13. Nope. Absolutely not. You dramatic Nancys. The Ravens at 1-5 are done. No one is saying the Chiefs are done when they were 2-3 and now 3-3. Get a grip.
  14. Defense had an horrible first half. But they adjusted well in the 2nd. With lots of injuries. It's just the overall bad run defense for years now that's so frustrating. And since Babich took over, the open WR in zone defenses. Can Michael Hoecht and Larry Ogunjobido make the difference? Good game by Walker!
  15. "Hard to see the false start live." Not really. No more than a QB sneak or any hurry up plays. "Hard to spot the ball." Done with technology now "Impossible to determine if the player fumbles." Yes but has it even been a issue yet? Again, only the Eagles have made it a constant play. Stop'em, that's all.
  16. I have a way more naively positive take on this ha ha: so far, it seems they have tried different approaches in every game. Which is great as come playoff time, they'll have so much they can use. But when it's close or you're behind, you need plays that have proven to work. And so far, the offense and Brady have done a good job. Come on now. But it seems every team have a wide open receiver 3-4 times a game. Why can't the bills do that too?
  17. Why? They have the OLine to do it. Very few teams do it, or are successful with it. Stop them, that's all. But false starts need to be called though. Edit: that being said, it was fun to see them get beat by the Giants ha ha. Dart and Skatterbo are like Josh, Lamar and a select few others: entertaining must see TV.
  18. The WRs looked very bad against the Cheats. At times, the OLine gave Josh TONS of time, yet he couldn't find anyone open. It was almost strange. No wonder JA tried more long passes, he had the time to let these routes develop. The pass blocking was really good. The run blocking though was off.
  19. That rookie Cheats* kicker not only nailed the 52 yarder to win them the game down the middle, but it looked like it had 20 yards to spare! We could see a 70 yarder in the NFL. I think there's been one in college.
  20. Allen was off... for Josh Allen. He was at least "average NFL starting QB level". One pick on him, the two fumbles, nope. Though WTH with Knox running into him? Was he supposed to give the ball? Anyway, it's puzzling that besides Kincaid, no receiver had big yards. Allen WAS well protected. It's supposed to be a guaranteed recipe for success. The run blocking didn't work though. And it's been said again and again, the defense is not good enough. There's not ONE game out of five so far they've been dominating. Some D guys sure have had great games, but overall, it's troubling.
  21. I used to have superstitions. Such a drinking coffee on game day in my homemade Bills cup (gift from an ex). Or back in the drourght days, I wore Bills socks with blue liners before gameday, red stripes on Sundays. Yep, I did that ha ha. Now I'm free from superstition. I do wear my Bills shirt on game day and that's it. I'm FREE LOL
  22. HAD to stab him? Unless Sanchez had a weapon too, that's quite a stretch
  23. Tua is a quality QB, an NFL starter for sure, yet not elite, not even close to the Top 5. Yet he was paid as such, and I actually liked it very much when it was announced. IMO it made the Fins weaker, and well, that's good ha ha. We see it now. BTW that was my worry with Josh. That he would be good but not great. You know, the kind of QB you don't get rid of but that doesn't give you a real chance at the Big One. He buried that worry quite fast ha ha. Newton made a lot of designed runs inside the tackles, like a RB. I couldn't believe it. Not that you get injured, but all those hits have to affect the accuracy of a QB! Even small dings in your throwing shoulder and arm will affect it. Anyway, old news now. Just don't do that with Josh!
  24. Yes, I agree. But how dare you make us root in any way for the Chiefs? How dare you! A tie IS the dream scenario ha ha.
  25. Awful. A friend had perfect tickets and invited me. At the 50 yard line (55 is the middle number...), and lower echelon but high enough. And I still felt far from the action compared to the Bills game I've been to. The field is longer and larger, so you're far regardless where you are. Hey, there are likely some rules that are better or more exciting, but in the end, it's ridiculous. So I'm from Québec, we speak French (at least 80%). We are of course VERY influenced by American culture, customs and all, but because of the language difference, also have sa little bit of our own, some influence from France and Europe. But English Canadians? What makes them different from their US counterparts in the same West-Center-East zones? Next to nothing. So they have to compensate. Molson Canadian, Tim Hortons and Canadian Tire aren't exactly true differentiators. So ridiculous how the rule differences are made everywhere and deliberately. Think about this: different field size, 12 players instead of 11, 3 minute warning (!), different time stops between plays, 3 downs, and on and on. Only two countries truly play football, and they use different rules! A merger of the "spring league" and CFL would likely be good for players who are just below NFL level, with just a few getting to the big league after a few years there. But at least it gives them a way to play football. Would the NFL care? I don't think so. The NCAA is enough to fill the talent pool, and the looooong days without football (over 200!) create a huge buzz when the season is on.
