That year he won the Triple Crown and Superbowl MVP has to be the best year ever by a WR in the history of the league. Somehow it's not talked a lot. But salary cap exists, so I don't think Beane will pursue him. BTW he is also a very good run bocker, and Hollins is gone... Can Kupp walk around barefoot?

Toohill played well in spurts. He has a future playing a backup role in the NFL. And that pays waaay better than a regular job ha ha.

Well, personally, I'm excited with the 3 new DL(OLB) signings. As with anything line related, it also helps the current players, yes that includes AJE, Oliver and Rousseau. Safeties are strong too IMO, Forrest makes this a strong enough group with Rapp, Bishop and Hamlin. Only glaring need is CB, and since supposedly the draft is filled with good interior DL, future is bright! Unless Milano has aged badly, LB group is set too. OLine are strong, JA is back there, and hopefully Palmer produces and Kincaid is back to his rookie form. Barring injuries, this Bills team seems already stronger than the 2024 one, and the draft is still to come!

Bishop was ready physically. He was missing a lot of the nuances and how to be in the right position, etc. So, in essence, he has to shore up his "football IQ". IDK he can do that in the offseason. He seemed to have gotten better by the end of the season.

Sometimes I feel people simply can't change their predetermined narrative. I too cringed painfully when we realized he'd be the starter last year. But he has grown to be quite decent. He made some bad plays, some pretty good ones, and overall, was at least average. Much better than anticipated, and not the disaster some of you guys make him to be. He's no Elam!

Joey Bosa signs with Buffalo. 1 year, $12.6 million
Jerome007 replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
People are complaining about a one year deal for a very good pass rusher? OK then. I'm pumped. With Hoeght and Bosa, that run stopping goes way up, and pass rush improves too. It should help Rousseau, Milano, Bernard, Oliver, etc.- 896 replies

This remains THE mystery on offense last year. Samuels, Cooper, and well, pretty much all receivers, had subpar numbers. Yet the offense was the #2 in the league and a juggernaut. And Josh the MVP.

Greg Rousseau Extended (4 years / 80M / 54M Guaranteed)
Jerome007 replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
He had 8 last season, 8, twice in the last 3 seasons. 8 is more than 6. And he has been quite good against the run too. But I admit his last outing vs KC left a bad taste. But Bills brass know details we don't. -
When the play is obvious as this one is, you can, indeed, put a TE or FB or whatever there. It does NOT have to be the QB. It's smart. A big QB like Josh could actually be the one pushing from behind instead of the one taking the punishment. As for banning it, I'm against unless it is shown to cause many injuries, and/or payers themselves are against it. Otherwise I like it. And sadly, the Chiefs proved against the Bills that it can be stopped. With some referee help of course.

i am not "concerned". I find the contract not exactly safe for Brown by 2026 that's all. But at least he is paid well till 2026. And there's a reason good tackles are paid more than RBs. RBs, WRs, and of course QBs get all the recognition, but OLinemen are essential. They don't get much public fanfare, especially outside their own team fanbases, but they get the big bucks.
-
Yikes. Unless he stays good, from 2026 and onward they can cut him easily. I wonder how it is for the other NFL teams. As in Bills land, we always hear that the Bills are over the cap every start of the offseason. I thought that for once, the Bills would be in great position this year. Hence why last season was supposed to be a transition, a temporary down phase.
-
Diggs counted for 31M last year. This coming year: zero. Von Miller will count for a lot less too. Some Bills are FA now. The allowed cap number really went up. So... WHY are the Bills AGAIN over the cap?
-
In an ideal world, of course we'd keep Cook, he's been productive, fun to watch, and add a great WR1 while at it. But with the salary cap, sorry it's not the priority. OLinemen are paid better than backs for a reason. And at least the starting 6 are all back! Josh, TEs, Shakir. Just one WR that has good production would be enough. Bills were the #2 Offense. It's the D that needs help, bad. DLine mainly. A good DLine can help LBs and DBs so much. And unless he pouts all year and thus makes zero dollars, Cook is signed for another season. The Bills do NOT have to accommodate him.
-
Nah. Not if 15-0. But imagine an early exit scenario like the Lions 🥴 Or the Bills finally reach the Superbowl, to get humiliated like the Chiefs just did. If Mahomes and KC hadn't won before, this would be a disaster, with fans demanding heads. Their past successes made this loss less catastrophic.
-
RBs are often big stars, second or third after the QB. Yet, their careers are very short, and most OLinemen are paid more. OLinemen don't get enough credit, but at least they get paid!
-
IDK how these more "under the radar" coaching positions are paid. Maybe it's not on the level of people all around them in that league... The downside of working for a pro team, is that if he goes on his own, his Bills/NFL reputation will be a giant plus, but he has to start from zero since he was an employee al those years and likely has very few clients to begin. And he didn't need a facility like he had, let alone a modern one like the Bills'.

Bills hiring new special teams coordinator Chris Tabor

Yet out of the league in 2024. Weird! -
I watched it. But with very small attention or anticipation. I heard but not watched that horrible halftime crap. And by the 4th quarter I was listening but not watching. It hasn't happened since, well, ever ha ha.
-
He's not a backup lineman. He is the 6th one! I hope they pu him in as much or more.
-
This is now on Beane, no question he needs to step up.
Jerome007 replied to SoonerBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I admit yesterday it was almost a shock to see both defenses. KC's defense played well for 3 quarters, and all year, really. The Cheaps' O was barely average all year expect... against the Bills. The Eagles created huge QB pressure with just the 4 DLinemen, that was the surprise of the game IMO. And we can't expect that in one year. But wow, the Bills D, especially the DLine, looks weak compared to the two we saw yesterday. Or the Ravens for that matter. Our offense is great though. The OLine, running backs...and the MVP. Yes, yes, one good WR could change things. But that's quite impressive. Just one would open up everything more, and yet the O is already the strength. It's the D that is weak. I know here the complaining was that all the picks went mostly to the D. Well, it needs to happen... again. Oh, it's a good thing we will change special teams coach too! -
Bills Hire Ryan Nielsen Senior Defensive Assistant.

Yes, Benford is better. I messed up. But he is the 2nd best. And... we need 2 starters. -
Bills Hire Ryan Nielsen Senior Defensive Assistant.
Jerome007 replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
DL sure needs better coaching Kromer has been outstanding as OL coach, but if the DLine keeps underperforming, time to also look at the coaching And why would this hire signify Rasul Douglas is gone? I don't think getting rid of your best CB will help any coaches -
That's the issue. 99% of us know this to be true. Yet, falling short hurts as you never know when opportunity will come again. Just take the 49ers, last year's finalists in the Superbowl, that only lost in OT (with refs against them too). They were the odds favorites to win it all this year. They had an horrible season. Same with the Bengals. Or the Lions having their best regular season ever to be eliminated in their first playoff game. You just never know. So yes, realistically, the Bills should be a force still. But missing out opportunities hurts baaaaad.
-
Oh I'm still POed. And the 4th playoff loss against these Cheaps will leave a mark. But the over the top of negativity of many posters here turn me into a positive SOB. I too feel the D could hide many of its deficiencies thanks to the turnovers. And well the O had barely any too. We can't expect that every year. Yet, even if the offense scored a LOT, who here doesn't feel that both the run game was not utilized enough and that the pass game could easily be enhanced? Cook was much better than just a 1,000 yards. The OLine delivers. WRs and TEs had such low numbers, and the Bills forgot the deep pass while there's cannon arm JA back there. Basically I expect a very different season yet lots of success still. And as it much as the cliche sucks, just get in the playoff dance. The rest is up for grabs.
