BTW what a game last night! Seriously. Crazy good. Including... Lamar ha ha. IMO he played a great game and the fact he missed a wide open guy in the end zone at the end will just add to the polarisation about the guy. BTW I really love how the Ravens had changed their offense completely to suit him. He is both limited in many aspects of a QB and great at what he does well. Hence this thread will be repeated for years to come ha ha. Often, the 1st drive of a team can be super successful but it means little into what happens next. Yet, am I the only one that don't understand why the Ravens didn't continue with that style of power offense, mixing in the threat of a Lamar runs, misdirections and playaction? I mean it was a super close game, obviously, but why drop that?

NFL 2024 Kickoff: Ravens @ Chiefs, Sept 5 - 8:20pm
Jerome007 replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh l like that. In my case, Lamar can rush for more but that's it ha ha. My 10 yo imagined half the players wounded, with Mahomes and Lamar gone for the season. Kids can be brutal LOL -
NFL feeding itself to the sharks (Private Equity)
Jerome007 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
You know you can both love the game and want to max out profits. You're a commie or something? Do you doubt JA17 loves the game? Yet he will negotiate for all the money he can get. As all players do. Or most anyone. Why would the owners not want that? But sometimes short term gains can be detrimental to long term goals! Owners letting these sharks in could backfire for them. -
Labor Day Weekend: Should be opening day for NFL
Jerome007 replied to mannc's topic in The Stadium Wall
There is? I thought it was a tradition, and done out of courtesy. I was wrong ha ha. And as mentioned already, they had lower ratings when starting on Labor Day Weekend, so nope, they won't do it. -
McDermott's history with Safeties outside of Buffalo
Jerome007 replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Indeed. Just last years completely decimated yet performing defense should make some people shut up a bit. NAd it really seems the secondary has always been strong since he's here. The valid criticism is that he is very good but not elite. His playoff defenses have been very average, Of course, you face much better teams in the playoffs! But still, that's valid. But the haters are way overboard. I hope he can turn it around like Reid did. Recall how the now multiple SB winning coach was seen as a choker and not good enough just a few years ago.... -
NFL feeding itself to the sharks (Private Equity)
Jerome007 replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Please. Billionaire owners are not robots and soulless. Their EGOS are gigantic, so wining matters to them. And to think they have zero love for the game and its history is just jealousy. Sure, some might be like that, especially among some family members, but overall, they care about the product and about the thrills, the ups and downs. They could have found many other ways to invest. Private equity firms are all about SHORT TERM profits, at any current or later costs. Hence the danger. -
IDK how that happened, but Nick Foles had a super hot streak at one time. And yes, that includes a SB win. He performed better than Wentz. Flacco is a recent example, and of course, Purdy, who was the #3 QB. Brady was 4th QB in the very beginning wasn't he? But no GM can be expected to predict that happening. Way too rare. White has shown his toughness when facing the Bills, that's for sure.

As usual, injuries will matter a lot, and a bit of luck. The team seems a tad weaker but lots of unproven players would be the more appropriate label. It could go in so many different ways that, hey, play the games and let's find out. Odds are not that great though for another 12-13 W season. If it happens, it's be great news as it means the new players are delivering the goods.

Cam Newton, recognizing coverages, disguises and Sean McDermott
Jerome007 replied to appoo's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems tome Bills fans do not appreciate how with a McD defense, Poyer and Hyde, there has been next to zero broken coverages in years. No opponents scoring long TDs because of mix ups. The very few times it happened, Poyer and/or Hyde were injured. Yet we see such plays on highlights around the league nearly every week. A "bend but don't break" defense doesn't seem THAT appealing to fans, but it works! Bills have had very few blowout losses too. Almost all losses were close games. -
I don't mind the varied takes. I do mind the "Billsy" and choke labels thrown all the time. Go watch some YT videos of epic comebacks/fails and you'll see a LOT of other teams have had crazy heart breaking losses. Of course as Bills fans we don't care much about those ha ha, but to think only the Bills and a few select teams suffer those kind of losses is idiocy. I also dislike fans that find all the faults in the Bills but somehow think highly of other coaches and teams, even when they have similar or worse records! They are like nagging negative wives. Now, a Superbowl win would cure everything. It just would. And I hope it happens!
-
I agree with that... until the Milano injury. Besides his obvious talent and contribution, he is FUN to watch. Sure, I want the Bills to win the SB, like NOW, this year. But who would care if the game was boring. Players like JA and Milano make it thrilling to watch.
-
Well this sucks. Bad. The guy is a star, period. And so fun to watch play too. While all long injuries are always a huge letdown, getting injured outside of games has always felt extra wrong to me. Dude never played one down, not even in preseason. Yet he is out till at least december! With so many injuries in camp, WTH are they doing?
-
Chiefs just proved it. Remember without Tyreek they were supposed to be done? It doesn't mean it's THE winning formula ha ha. But salary cap is just a reality.
-
Seems to me that with Josh, 3rd & 14 or 3rd & 7, same thing. His arm strength makes it as doable, and the Bills have been quite agressive in play selection compared to other teams that run the draw play half the time. But for 3rd and short? It seems the OLine hasn't had the push the best OLines have. Yet they have been much better last year IMO. Bills' defense, not Allen's dense But yeah. it's bit of a drag that the D has been quite porous come playoff time. Of course, they face much better teams but they have been a weak point.

The most loathsome NFL players of all time
Jerome007 replied to TheCockSportif's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why? At least they delivered on the field. JJ maybe not at the end of his career, but he was a super dominant force for the first 5 years. -
Bills are NFL’s most popular franchise worldwide? Really?
Jerome007 replied to Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
As a guy from Québec who's been a Bills fan for decades and suffered the drought, I can say most outsiders love... the current winning team. Bandwagon jumpers. Bills ARE popular though. Josh Allen is a big reason why. Entertainment matters! Otherwise we'd be watching the best Paint Drying Watching champions. But the fans and the vibe are also a huge plus. Bills fans are great. Miami - and all Florida teams - seem to have crappy fans in all sports. Not very attractive. There was a UFC yesterday in Abu Dhabi and wow was that crowd boring. It matters. -
For as good as he is, in a salary cap league, it makes no sense. Even as I hate tying it, the Chiefs obviously proved that point! They never came close to replacing Hill, yet won the SB regardless. I prefer the Bills situation to the Fins by far. And Tua is not worth all that cap space. Josh would be, not Tua.
-
This! I mean, they have the same cap. Impossible it will not affect the other positions. Of course it's Tyreek him and quite hard to feel any shred of sympathy ha ha. But as MEN, or for anyt women with a sense of fairness, it should NOT be the case that is ever in financial danger because of this. Just quite poorer ha ha. It's ridiculous the payouts for so-called "child support", or to pretend he'll make NFL money forever. Laws make it insane to have kids except for welfare guys. How does that make any sense?

All of the new kickoffs from yesterday's HOF game
Jerome007 replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not that it's bad, but it's soooo different. Like old stats and records now mean nothing. Since it's more structured and short distances to cover, I pictured a lot less long returns. The chaos and long distances to cover of previous kickoffs made it happen sometimes. -
John Elway admits Josh Allen was his biggest regret
Jerome007 replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have the fact I barely watch college football on my side ha ha. All I knew is that there were 4 QBs with hype: Mayfield, Rosen, Allen, Darnold. And the Bills traded to move up and take JA at #7, with 2 QBs gone already. So I was thrilled. And for some reason, I liked him right away when he came to the stage, his demeanor, his interactions with fans. So I was onboard from day 1 ha ha. Ignorance is bliss. I couldn't understand the "we picked the wrong Josh" crowd that actually wanted Allen to fail to boost their fragile egos! As a fan, you can be mad at the GM for the pick, but since JA was our QB, I was rooting 100% for him to be great, period. He has been even better. His running and leadership have been pleasant surprises. -
I'm just sooooo glad we didn't have to make that choice ha ha. JA17 beats them any given Sunday, or Monday, or Thursday

Tua gets the bag - $53M a year
Jerome007 replied to hellofellowbillsfans's topic in The Stadium Wall
This hurts the Fish, so good! Tua is good, but not elite. Now they'll have a lot less for other top players. The only downside is the future price tag for Josh. People like to point ou how Mahomes has SB rings and Josh can't even get there. Now look at Tua and the money he got...
