I would bet that our receivers and JA17 aren’t on same page with reading the defense pre-snap. That’s one problem, then they must adjust when the defense changes post-snap. It’s obvious when Cook doesn’t pick up a blitzer, but not when WR runs the wrong route based on the defensive scheme post snap. This may explain why JA17 holds the ball and/or double clutches. I didn’t see this with Burrow. Also, I bet we weren’t ready for their use of their TE because we were focused on stopping the run and the WRs. Their game plan was sneaky.

Nerves happens to many HOF QBs. I saw it in JK12 in the SBs. Never saw it in Favre, Montana, Manning, and Mahomes. Hopefully, JA17 gets beyond the jitters because that’s his Achilles heel. However, I wouldn’t want any other QB playing today.

Yes, a #2 WR would be great but would not be a difference maker because of learning curve on routes and syncing with JA17. DT would make the most sense.

I agree with most who say it was a mistake, but I wonder if the players voted to stay with their families longer. It sounds like having the players vote would be a McD kind of thing, since he’s a players coach. Still a mistake.
