    Agree. Talent and scheme win SBs. Beane gets a lot of flack for players not performing to their draft status in the 1st round, but I would guess every other GM in the National Football League has drafted similar players but earlier in the 1st round. Plus, drafting at the end means you get leftovers. Do we really think we can do better than Beane?

    I’d like to see JA17 with 250 yards on a regular basis, with Shakir, Palmer and Kincaid busting loose. Adding Olave would get us to SB. Let’s go Buffalo!

    Are we a better team than last year? I’d say so, especially the one we saw yesterday. Most of us would say we would’ve given Philly a better game than KC last year. I like our chances if we get the passing game going. If we do, none of the up and coming teams scare me.

    Good points Pete, but maybe we’re not giving Brady enough credit. Coleman draws the best DB and takes him to the boundary, which should be opening up lanes for others eg - Shakir, Cook, Kincaid. I agree that we need to see more intermediate JA17 missiles.

    Got it, but the tubes, and staffing changes, are very remote. Even at 9-8, nothing changes, even though it should. I’d bet Coach and OC would be hired the next day if let go.

    Great points. I was expecting a trade this week for a safety (#1 need) and maybe a speedster. Hope something happens.

    Do you really think with our O line, Cook, Kincaid, Shakir, and mainly JA17 that our season bottoms out?

    If we don’t get a #1, I still think we can win with what we have. ATL has one of the best secondaries in the NFL, and we tried to force it there without Kincaid and Palmer. We didn’t use Cook on blitzes. We didn’t use Shakir on underneath routes. I hope he practices toe dragging. Our team will reset and go on a run. With JA17, we will win the division.

    Good adjustment for sure. I guessed that London and/or Robinson would be a problem. In first half they focused on London which was a mistake. Stop the run and make Penix beat you. I guessed it was lack of confidence in our secondary that allowed Robinson to stampede through the herd in first half. So our secondary is the gift that keeps on giving.

    Question about Hairstons status and participation. Is he allowed to participate in film analysis with the secondary, development of game plan, studying the so-called complex D scheme that so many say takes a while to adopt, and I’ll ask even though probably not: can he participate in any practices in any fashion? I would guess a medium low, say once every 7 years.

    Everyone can suggest a play that contributed most to the L. That play and the Bosa sack that was nullified come to mind.

    ATL strength is secondary, and they blitz a lot. Too much for JA17. Why weren’t we ready for the blitzes??

    We need 30. Birds will play ball control with run game. We need to get to 14 in first quarter to prevent this. First quarter is key.

    So the philosophy change that makes you a skeptic may be based on lack of confidence in JA17s ability to consistently throw the long ball accurately, and trying to protect him with Tom Brady dink and dunk passes.

    Quick question: In your slow down analysis, could the ball have gone to Kincaid more??
