  1. If you equate cerebral to film study and knowing the playbook, that’s what made Brady great. His athletic talent wasn’t good enough by itself. I remember reading about how Hank Aaron studied pitchers. He knew their tendencies in every situation, for every ball/strike count. It helps to put in the cerebral prep.
  2. No arguments here. At this point I’d take JA17 over Marino, who I’ve always considered # uno.
  3. Looks like I won the off season.
  4. Has anyone ever done an analysis of the percentage of plays that JA17 goes off script with plays, say, compared to Tom Brady? Last year, Josh was more selective in running the ball, but passing still seems to be mostly sandlot ball. Every year I think I’ll see our QB become more of a pocket passer. Maybe he just can’t do it. After all, he is MVP, so why change. The main reason to change is to give him more years to win multiple Lombardi’s. When will he become a pocket passer? He has the gun of Marino so he should be able to do it.
  5. I hear he’s got a nose for the ball 😂
  6. Yes OP grad. Probably 1976.
  7. His strong faith was more than his physical strength. I’m married to his first cousin, and have known him since his days at Syracuse. He walked with Jesus and is with Him now. Big guy, big heart. Prayers for his beautiful family. Yes, Ron is in Az.
  8. Similar to LeBron, if he wins one in the next 2-3 years, he might wanna take his skills to the left coast. Hope he wins one or more and retires a Bill at 38.
  9. Yes JA17 will get better. I think his pre-snap cognition will be similar to the GOAT soon.
  10. From draft day, there’s been no bigger Cook cheerleader than me, but 15 is too much. The very top would be 12 with incentives. If we write checks for a difference makers DE and WR, then trade him the day after for a draft pick, unless we tag him.
  11. Yes I agree. A burner is priority 1, then a pass rusher, then a CB.
  12. Our RB looks and cooks better than the Philly RB.
  13. Yea I’ve moved on and have next year on my radar. Btw, I think we were the better team but didn’t play like the better team. If we played like we played against the Ravens, and many other games, we win.
  14. Our chief competitors are in divisions that will get more competitive, so hopefully, that will work to our advantage to get #1 seed. We averaged 30 ppg with some dinged up skilled players, so next year we should be able to do better. Improving the D has to happen.
  15. If he retires and takes a GM assistant position, what does that do to cap?
  16. I agree that the D has to be better, but the best teams are going to score against any defense that shows up in today’s NFL. Our offense left a lot of points on the field due to unforced errors. This is where we’ve gotta get better. We need to show new wrinkles to advance to SB, and a reliable deep threat.
  17. Agree. The soft zone stuff hasn’t worked. The talent level is good enough. This desperate talk of selling the ranch to get a game wrecker is not necessary. Our poor performance in the last game has resulted in reckless opinions. I’m thankful that our GM and won’t be reckless when it comes to player decisions. Just need a couple changes to be more disruptive. There’s no shutting down KC and the other great teams. No matter what approach on D, our offense is the key and priority. Overall, our team this year was the best since the Kelly days. Give Coleman another year of learning and a healthy Kincaid, and maybe add a burner, and we’ll be cooking. Being healthy at the end has been the biggest hurdle.
  18. Agree. Get what we need in the draft. In the KC game, our offense played one of their worst performances of the year, probably because the Ravens game took a lot out of us. If we don’t get a game wrecker on defense through a trade, we will be alright. We were close this year. We had the team to win, but our performance was subpar. Our team will be different next year, and hopefully it will be as good or better.
  19. Not so long ago it was a popular opinion that defenses in this era would give up 30 points on a regular basis, therefore, the Bills should be built to score more than 30. We do so many times. Then the Bills pivoted to control the clock to keep our D off the field (and the other team’s offense). Now, everyone wants a stronger D. I say we need to get a burner WR, and our offense will score over 30 easily. An above average pass rusher and nose tackle would make us a juggernaut. We had a great strategy before Von got hurt. A burner WR is #1 priority still. Let’s get Arian Smith please.
  20. Great take. Without Jones and Kelce, Mahomey, KC wouldn’t be the juggernaut.
  21. The OP with the idea of a 1000 yard stare is on to something, maybe. Every performance is 40% execution and 60% mental. Maybe more than any other city, Bills players feel the pressure of letting an entire city down. A small city that has seen many sports heartbreaks. When the stakes are highest, performance anxiety is at its highest. There are athletes in these situations who want the ball (eg- Jordan, Brady, TO, Mays, Woods, etc). Maybe these athletes mental capabilities are not hampered by the hopes of an entire city that has experienced many heartbreaks. While this year it seemed that the culture of the team and coaches was lighter with an emphasis on fun, they were not having fun in the KC game. Or it may be that KC is living in their heads rent free. Do they have a sports psychologist on staff?
  22. Von was supposed to be guy who would get us a Lombardi.
  23. Reed could teach some separation skills.
  24. When new stadium opens, helmets will have a blue flashing led strip glued to the top.
