Yes I agree. A burner is priority 1, then a pass rusher, then a CB.
-
Our RB looks and cooks better than the Philly RB.
-
Our chief competitors are in divisions that will get more competitive, so hopefully, that will work to our advantage to get #1 seed. We averaged 30 ppg with some dinged up skilled players, so next year we should be able to do better. Improving the D has to happen.

If he retires and takes a GM assistant position, what does that do to cap?
-
I agree that the D has to be better, but the best teams are going to score against any defense that shows up in today’s NFL. Our offense left a lot of points on the field due to unforced errors. This is where we’ve gotta get better. We need to show new wrinkles to advance to SB, and a reliable deep threat.

Agree. The soft zone stuff hasn’t worked. The talent level is good enough. This desperate talk of selling the ranch to get a game wrecker is not necessary. Our poor performance in the last game has resulted in reckless opinions. I’m thankful that our GM and won’t be reckless when it comes to player decisions. Just need a couple changes to be more disruptive. There’s no shutting down KC and the other great teams. No matter what approach on D, our offense is the key and priority. Overall, our team this year was the best since the Kelly days. Give Coleman another year of learning and a healthy Kincaid, and maybe add a burner, and we’ll be cooking. Being healthy at the end has been the biggest hurdle.

Agree. Get what we need in the draft. In the KC game, our offense played one of their worst performances of the year, probably because the Ravens game took a lot out of us. If we don’t get a game wrecker on defense through a trade, we will be alright. We were close this year. We had the team to win, but our performance was subpar. Our team will be different next year, and hopefully it will be as good or better.

Not so long ago it was a popular opinion that defenses in this era would give up 30 points on a regular basis, therefore, the Bills should be built to score more than 30. We do so many times. Then the Bills pivoted to control the clock to keep our D off the field (and the other team’s offense). Now, everyone wants a stronger D. I say we need to get a burner WR, and our offense will score over 30 easily. An above average pass rusher and nose tackle would make us a juggernaut. We had a great strategy before Von got hurt. A burner WR is #1 priority still. Let’s get Arian Smith please.

Great take. Without Jones and Kelce, Mahomey, KC wouldn’t be the juggernaut.

The OP with the idea of a 1000 yard stare is on to something, maybe. Every performance is 40% execution and 60% mental. Maybe more than any other city, Bills players feel the pressure of letting an entire city down. A small city that has seen many sports heartbreaks. When the stakes are highest, performance anxiety is at its highest. There are athletes in these situations who want the ball (eg- Jordan, Brady, TO, Mays, Woods, etc). Maybe these athletes mental capabilities are not hampered by the hopes of an entire city that has experienced many heartbreaks. While this year it seemed that the culture of the team and coaches was lighter with an emphasis on fun, they were not having fun in the KC game. Or it may be that KC is living in their heads rent free. Do they have a sports psychologist on staff?

Von was supposed to be guy who would get us a Lombardi.

Opinion: Bills SHOULD hire Doug Pederson as assistant HC

Reed could teach some separation skills. -
When new stadium opens, helmets will have a blue flashing led strip glued to the top.
-
I can name 5 players on D who need to be in another team’s helmet. Problem solved.
-
Yea he stays. I don’t have stats but it appeared that we played a more TOP control game, which means the D was on the field less. This was intentional to protect the D, but the D still ranked lowest in the league. We better get a pass rusher and wide nose tackle.

If it went to 10 teams qualifying, is it possible that wildcard teams would play each other. If so, I don’t have a problem with this since the cream will rise to the top. Sometimes, the best teams don’t gel until the second half of the season, with several loses in the first half. Wasn’t there a wildcard weekend before?
-
I think the byes are a nice reward for the team(s) that won the regular season, but a bye for the best two teams seems fairer. Of course, my opinion is influenced by this year’s outcome.
-
Thanks House. I see something like Metcalf and maybe TO.
-
The OP is not suggesting that coaching strategy was not the biggest factor, but our boys were not executing like they normally do. I think the Ravens took something out of us. Lost Rapp and Benford, and the rest were not rested.
-
The #1 seed gets too much advantage. KC had more time to rest and heal. I know this is obvious, but Bills were hampered by the game the previous week. No Rapp and Benford was skating on thin ice. The first half we looked like we were fatigued. Like we had concrete shoes, which resulted in being out played. We were the better team and 2 weeks rest would have been huge. The consequences of losing those regular season games bit us in the butt. Maybe NFL should grant byes to 2 teams. KC has gotten an easier path and I don’t like it.
