  1. You are totally downplaying smiths durability and productivity through those touches. Thurmans body was DONE by the time he was in Miami that last season. Transferring Thurman’s 4.2 per carry to another 1700 carries is honestly just foolish. The guys body couldn’t take it. Emmitts did. And tha attribute needs to be equated into the argument.
  2. Ya. That one came from left field. I would say that would nail down somebodies credibility if they called that one. Haha
  3. I have no clue what I want to happen.... I know it involves a qb and that's about it. I've talked myself in and out of about every possible scenario involving that position at this point. just gonna try to sit down after work, grab a big glass of "process" to sip on, and enjoy the draft night hopefully. it just so happens to be my birthday on the 26th so baker Mayfield jumping out of a cake for the bills first round selection would be kinda cool.
  4. yes I do. that being said.... how bout I give you incognito.... explain the other 2 into your theory. one retired due to injury and the other didn't play. or are there conspiracies that go along with those 2 as well? you seem to be chock-full of that sort of nonsense. it was a dumb point(or lack thereof), dude. you didn't think it out and it didn't make any sense...... and i'm the man-child. that's cute.
  5. of the 3 lineman that are gone, 2 are retiring due to injury related issues and the 3rd didn't even start that game. but hey, lets not let those facts cloud up this ridiculous notion..... seems legit.
  6. cool story. thanks for sharing. my wife and I got a hotel room at a new years party that night up in erie pa. I packed my bills tie just in case they pulled it off. after we had got checked we went to a local bar to watch the game.... came back and got dressed up to party all night(with the bills tie that didn't match my suit in the least) at the banquet in the hotel and I seriously had people coming up all night and sincerely congratulating me for the duration. haha. what a night, man..... I'll remember that random bar and that new years party for the rest of my life no matter what other memories the bills make me going forward.
  7. I was only in elementary school back in the glory days of the early 90's and not nearly as emotionally invested. I would have to say my favorite live game memories were EJ manuel to stevie as time wound down against the panthers. at that point I thought we were really on to something with him and the ralph went nuts.... and then even though it was a loss, I made myself really soak the feeling and atmosphere down in Jacksonville this year as we got the ball with a couple minutes left and about 70 yds to go. really made sure I appreciated that scenario and the magnitude. and then obviously I will always remember where I was when boyd broke loose for the td that ultimately helped us into the playoffs, the reactions and the week that followed. so far for me that's an all timer.
  8. I’m expecting 2018 to be the what I thought 17 would be..... bad. Usually the more we get through the offseason and the more I think about it. The more I always talk myself into a good year. I’m feeling the exact opposite for this offseason. The more it goes along and the more I reflect on it the worse I feel about 2018. Oh well. Got a playoff bid in there. Now grab our qb. Take the same lumps we’ve been used to for almost 20 years now and I still think the future is bright.
  9. This is so lame. You can literally look at almost any teams schedule and do this for or against them.
  10. Protected the ball Took the ball away weak afc i personally think we take a slight step back this year just based on the fact I don’t think you can bank on those types of turnovers year in and year out and the AFC can’t possibly be that lame again this year. That being said I can’t stand it when people give “the miracle” all the credit. Bottom line is the bills did what they needed to over 16 games and the ravens didn’t. People usually only use that lame excuse to support a lame narrative about how the old qb was awful, the team still sucks, or that we should have tanked.
  11. anyone remember this place going into the first matchup with Miami when taylor was set to start and Miami had just upset NE? sky. was. falling.
  12. well ya.... i'd rather have Mayfield at 2 or wherever else. so whatever. i'm just not huge on allen. but I don't get paid to pick players so i'm not gonna pretend like I ultimately know one way or the other if its gonna pan out.
  13. maybe. but it has nothing to do with signing a dude that had 10 tackles and zero sacks last year......
  14. i'm 200% more on board with only trading up to 5 or 6 and nabbing Mayfield. but if the scenario above ultimately happens i'll......... "trust the process"
  15. ugh.... will you change the freaking record already? you and your typical doom and gloom. the new guys in charge have done plenty already that no other staff has done. will you quit with this crap already? it was the same thing during the season week in and week out the whole last 2 months. I've been confident since the trades in august that they would be going and getting the qb they want and nothing they've done since then says differently. you gotta stop with this stuff man. good lord.
  16. OP's title is a bit dramatic..... was anyone thinking playoffs after Gilmore and woods walked and they unloaded Watkins and darby?
  17. uh. it wasn't good for them. that's why the old qb is now gone. that's why I was ready to move on from him after 16. you just mistake my rational view of the prior qb, and me not having ridiculous takes on him or bashing him constantly, as apparently saying he was good enough. that's not the case. he wasn't good enough. he's gone. and again.... I don't care what the circumstances were. when people say McCarron is gonna open up the pass game they literally have no evidence to back that up. its wishful thinking. the guy managed games on a loaded roster. if people wanna argue they think he's improved since 15 and that's why he'll be an upgrade and open the offense, that's fine...... but the bottom line is he's done nothing to prove it as of yet. can that even be argued? do you look back at 160, 180, 200, and 212 in his four starts and think "oh man, that's an upgrade. that's an upgrade on the passing attack"??? I get it. you're the whole "anyone but taylor" type of guy. but McCarron has shown nothing, outside of one 4th quarter comeback, to show he'll open anything up. if taylors numbers weren't enough for you then how on earths do mccarrons make you think he'll be an upgrade. this isn't me writing off McCarron. I think he may have improved in the last couple of years and I think he might surprise people. but I wont pretend he's an automatic upgrade when the only sample size we have from him is very similar to what we just had.
  18. you are exactly right. they matter as much as taylors.....so you're telling me that games of 160, 180, 200, and 212 indicate he's gonna open up the pass game? people rushed to run the qb out of town that posted subpar numbers like that but this guy has similar numbers and is gonna be a sure upgrade that's gonna open things up? commmeeeee onnnnnnn man. that's just silly talk. and you don't have to give the play by play. I watched the game. he has a nice fourth quarter comeback on his resume. its most definitely a positive.... but they scored 16 pts..... yup. that seems like he really holds the pass game wide open when he plays. again, he might be an upgrade. he might win some games. I really hope he does. but lets not pretend that anything he's done in the past was anything other than manage games on a team that freaking LOADED.
  19. at what point does a player need to produce actual numbers? the top pass rushers are consistently on top of the sack lists year in and year out. the nfl records stats for a reason. its becuz they usually paint a solid picture of how somebody is performing.... so let me know when the numbers will actually matter and I can justly criticize hughes for his lack thereof
  20. is this supposed to prove you point? so in 2 of the 5 games he saw significant time in he tossed for over 200 yds(280, 212)..... along with 2 int to go with that 280. he hopefully has improved over the last couple of years and I sincerely hope we found a gem with him but the dude has done nothing to prove he's gonna push the ball down the field or be an upgrade. its funny to me you bring up yardage in the argument as to why McCarron will be an upgrade when the guy merely managed games and most definitely wasn't slinging the ball around the yard. i'm fine with it too. but lets not pretend his numbers indicate in the least that he's gonna significantly open up the pass game. he very well could open it up. and I hope he does. but prior performance isn't what people should use in their argument.
  21. McCarron averaged 184 a game when he saw extended time in 2015 with an elite squad of wr's..... i'm totally for giving the dude a chance but this whole narrative that he's a big upgrade, is gonna push the ball down the field and open up the offense is literally 100% unfounded and there is no proof backing up anyone that claims it. where are people coming up with this stuff?
  22. Son of a...... forgot what day it was. I seriously just got butterflies and about flew out of the couch to celebrate. Friggin April fools.
