  1. dude..... how many times do I have to say this..... go back and read up on the debate I was having. it was about flacco. the post he "called out" was me talking about flacco and somebodies comp of allen and flacco. i'm fine with josh allen.
  2. maybe go back and look at convo I was having.... I was in the middle of debate about joe flacco.... i'm cool with allen, bro. good talk. right..... other than the fact that it was directed at me and he didn't realize my statements were about joe flacco.
  3. and so that's where my hope lies with McCarron. he was young and hadn't played much. but the bottom line is nobody can reference his body of work in the nfl as to why he's gonna be an upgrade. he had a STACKED squad around him and wasn't real impressive.
  4. I can’t speak for most and I havnt said much on this topic as of late but my main gripe is with individuals like you that want no part of any excuse for Taylor and then you go on to have a long list of them in a post like this for McCarron. But then again you’ve always been fairly shameless on bending arguments to fit your narrative. Stats matter sometimes for you. Sometimes they don’t. Excuses matter for you.... but then sometimes they don’t. Bottom line is McCarron had a much better team around him in 15 than Taylor has ever had and didn’t produce any better than Taylor ever has. He might end up being better. I sure hope he is. I’m holding out hope that he will be based on a couple more years of learning and experience since his lackluster fill-in job. But there is no real proof he’ll be an upgrade. Anyone acting like they know McCarron will be better based on past performance is making themselves look silly. I’m not saying you in particular. I just mean in general. It’s comical to me seeing some of the same people that bagged on Taylor and his production are hyping McCarron. It makes slim to no sense.
  5. Lambeau is a bucket list item for me so my wife and I will be making the drive with a couple of others in our RV. Definitely excited
  6. It was quite literally Jeremy hill. All the bengals had to do was sit on the clock down inside Pitt territory and then kick an fg to basically seal it. Hill had one job. Don’t fumble.... he fumbled. It should have never come to that. Hill had one job to do. Hold onto the ball. And he didn’t.
  7. Not only that. But the comparison is just stupid. The knock on Wilson was size. If he had been 4 inches taller he would have been universally regarded as a top ten guy. What made him slip to the 3rd isn’t even close to the same issues as to why Allen had the potential to slip.
  8. Taking a a bad team and winning with it might actually say something about his chances though. Im assuming you’re just being intentionally obtuse here though.
  9. Totally agree. I didn’t really get excited about the D until a couple days ago when I really sat down and thought about the new members up front and then the drafted guys. It’s very apparent mcdermott wants to build a d that can take over a game and help out the young qb. It would not surprise me one bit to see a leap into the top ten in total yardage and points allowed this coming season. Its exciting to see that aspect get better while STILL being able to make a move at trying to upgrade qb.
  10. Fair enough. For me, where there is smoke there is probably fire. It seems more than a couple people had Allen graded at the top or right near the top. I’m assuming they needed to like the footage. You say it you would be concerned about the knowledge of our FO if our guys looked at the tape and thought Allen had the better of it.... I personally am way more concerned if they thought Allen’s tape wasn’t at least comparable and still took him over Rosen.
  11. I’m aware. I’m quite certain he’s seen way more of all of them than i have. And I’d be willing to bet he knows more about the position than I do. I don’t get paid to evaluate them nor does my job hinge upon it. Isn’t it nice when somebody can admit that? Ya see what I did there?...But it doesn’t really change the foundation of my stance against gunners basic assumptions. I mean within the last couple of hours we’ve seen another rumor of a guy like pat shurmur toying with him as the qb1 of the draft. it’s not like he knows anything about qb’s.... oh wait....
  12. I guess we can lump shurmur into a group with the bills brass that obviously knows nothing about football or the position.... it’s not like he just got a journeyman qb to play at a high level or anything. I trust our experts around here way more.
  13. Well this doesn’t jive with what the “experts” around here have been telling me over the last week..... i guess pat shurmur doesn’t know what he’s doing either.
  14. that's what I got out of it too. and I found it fairly presumptuous on gunners part.... the bills very easily could have still liked allens tape better .... in which case the bills FO apparently has no clue and gunner again thinks the FO doomed itself with this pick.
  15. Let’s not forget kiper.... I think he’s awful but for the sake of argument.... @Fadingpain looking silly in this thread
  16. uh... dude. 808 and I were discussing flacco... i'm cool with allen. seriously.... did anyone actually think that was a good deal? I feel like even ozzie newsome was like "crap. this guy just screwed around and won us a super bowl and I know he's not worth this sort of money but i'll look like a complete jerk if I don't pay him" I get you on the bolded. fair enough.... and honestly he had some nice years from like 2009-2012. but I would even argue his best seasons weren't even top ten type of years. the guy got really really really lucky against Denver when Rahim moore went full pop warner on a horribly thrown pass back in 2012.
  17. agree to disagree I guess.... I've watched him play plenty and saw a middling qb that could make some timely clutch throws on occasion but usually didn't win if he didn't have his defense clicking on all cylinders. i'm not big on that going forward if that's what we are getting. EDIT: This convo here is about flacco.
  18. in flacco's ten years he's averaged 3500 yds, 20 td and 13 int a season with a career 84 rating..... in todays nfl if that's what we get out of allen then we better pray we have a top 5 defense and run game every year. flacco has been extremely average with the luxury of some consistently awesome defenses over his career.
  19. with the exception of a 4 game stretch in 2012 flacco has had an extremely average career that has heavily relied on his surrounding team being superb to win games.... I get that he won that super bowl but if allen turns out to be that sort of qb we better pray to god all the other units of our team are clicking on ALL cylinders at ALL times.
  20. we sure could use saviorpeterman and his "next gen" stats right now.
  21. Maybe don’t put so much effort into bein huge d-bag on a message board about a topic that’s really not that huge of a deal. Good talk, bruh.
  22. Right?.... my wife thought it was silly that I was annoyed by that. I was hoping for a traditional number in the 50’s.
