  1. you are exactly right. they matter as much as taylors.....so you're telling me that games of 160, 180, 200, and 212 indicate he's gonna open up the pass game? people rushed to run the qb out of town that posted subpar numbers like that but this guy has similar numbers and is gonna be a sure upgrade that's gonna open things up? commmeeeee onnnnnnn man. that's just silly talk. and you don't have to give the play by play. I watched the game. he has a nice fourth quarter comeback on his resume. its most definitely a positive.... but they scored 16 pts..... yup. that seems like he really holds the pass game wide open when he plays. again, he might be an upgrade. he might win some games. I really hope he does. but lets not pretend that anything he's done in the past was anything other than manage games on a team that freaking LOADED.
  2. at what point does a player need to produce actual numbers? the top pass rushers are consistently on top of the sack lists year in and year out. the nfl records stats for a reason. its becuz they usually paint a solid picture of how somebody is performing.... so let me know when the numbers will actually matter and I can justly criticize hughes for his lack thereof
  3. is this supposed to prove you point? so in 2 of the 5 games he saw significant time in he tossed for over 200 yds(280, 212)..... along with 2 int to go with that 280. he hopefully has improved over the last couple of years and I sincerely hope we found a gem with him but the dude has done nothing to prove he's gonna push the ball down the field or be an upgrade. its funny to me you bring up yardage in the argument as to why McCarron will be an upgrade when the guy merely managed games and most definitely wasn't slinging the ball around the yard. i'm fine with it too. but lets not pretend his numbers indicate in the least that he's gonna significantly open up the pass game. he very well could open it up. and I hope he does. but prior performance isn't what people should use in their argument.
  4. McCarron averaged 184 a game when he saw extended time in 2015 with an elite squad of wr's..... i'm totally for giving the dude a chance but this whole narrative that he's a big upgrade, is gonna push the ball down the field and open up the offense is literally 100% unfounded and there is no proof backing up anyone that claims it. where are people coming up with this stuff?
  5. Son of a...... forgot what day it was. I seriously just got butterflies and about flew out of the couch to celebrate. Friggin April fools.
  6. Dude. The point is.... you cannot look back on what you’ve seen from him and make statements about the pass game improving. We can only evaluate what he’s done and with a better supporting cast he didn’t do anything more than what we’ve seen. That’s the bottom line. There was nothing seen there to say it would be an improvement on what we just had other than his clutch play in the playoffs. That’s always nice to see. And obviously something Taylor lacked BIG TIME. Maybe he improves. I would hope he has over the last 2 seasons. But it’s not a given he’s an upgrade.
  7. People forget that with an offense that featured green, sanu and Marvin jones at wr McCarron succeeded in passing for over 200 yds just once in his four starts back in 2015. He’s really shown nothing to support anyone’s assertion he’s gonna get wr’s more involved or improve the passing game at all. He very well might be able to. And I really hope he does but he’s not done much to prove he can.
  8. you need help.
  9. In the 4 games McCarron started when dalton went down, on a team with aj green, Marvin jones and sanu, his passing outputs were 160, 180, 200 and 212 yds..... The pass game may improve. But McCarron has done close to nothing for you to make the claims you are making. They are completely made up.
  10. What in God’s name have you seen from McCarron to make such a claim? He hardly set the world on fire when he got time in cincy and that was a team with talent everywhere on offense. That statement literally has no grounds to stand on. I just said the other day to a friend, don’t be surprised if, after workouts and meetings, Jackson and Rudolph pass a couple of the “big four” for certain teams lists. On another note. Rudolph was on the path to the draft studio last night and was fairly impressive.... the list is hardly set in stone.
  11. Right? Lol. This would be like a team passing on Barkley becuz Blair Thomas and ki-Jana carter. Plenty of reasons to like or not like a guy but judging a player based on past busts from a program is really stupid.
  12. right. the commentary was fairly vocal about how awful those wr's were. lol.
  13. brooks and DJ were just on the network saying it was all in all a solid day. nothing to move him one way or the other though really.... and i'm no scout but that's sorta what I took away as well. the mom thing is weird. lol.
  14. lol.... the format so far has drawn jokes from mayock and others. he hasn't attempted anything they want to see yet... hopefully he will but calling it a great showing so far is sorta crazy. its evident they started out trying to showcase some of their other propects at rb with the shorter routes.... they just touched on it again, that he hasn't attempted a single throw they want to see him improve on from the season.
  15. ever since this happened it sealed it for me...... I just picture him beating brady and doing this in his direction on the sideline. freakin love it.
  16. I personally think it should be settled by gathering Elway, Cunningham, Russell, George, and Allen and having them chuck this SOB. The summit of mid 90’s technology and every 12 yr olds ego boosting best friend.
  17. I just mean from a scoring and return stand point.... I would love to see the numbers of kicks being returned for tds since the rule change as opposed to before that. rarely do you fear a return anymore no matter who is back there fielding it. that wasn't the case years ago.... I get it. I understand why they did it...... but I hate it. well ya.... becuz they screwed with them in the first place and moved the kicker up 5 yds.... so theres really nothing to see there anymore.
  18. I still hate the fact that they moved the kickoff up 5 yds. basically rendering the dang thing obsolete anyways.
  19. I don't think I would walk away from that first round very enthused. yuck.
  20. haha. we made a trip up there just for that, this last sunday! quick treat for the kids. we live 10 min south in the town of Waterford.... small world man.
  21. I just saw a recipe online for those the other day that had to do with melting heavy cream and chocolate in a pan and baking the peeps like a glorious marshmellow shell on top of them. then you dip graham crackers into that like easter chips and dip. it looked freaking fabulous. I may consider eating peeps if they were prepared in that fashion.
  22. fairly miserable place to live during a regular year..... let alone one with 193 inches of snow. haha.
