  1. My man ... gotta tell you ... you're a homer if you really think this.
  2. Maybe the part of the trade I don't understand is how anyone could think Cook and Hines are the 1 and 2 next year. Neither can play in short yardage or between the tackles situations, which, ya know, is important.
  3. Shaw, great post, well thought out ... but I think you're missing one big weakness with Edmunds. Tackling the ball carrier 5 yards from the line of scrimmage isn't a win. I'll give you the most two recent examples of Bills linebackers who had a ton of tackles and weren't very good: - Preston Brown - literally led the league in tackles in 2018, but was a liability vs the pass and was slow. - Paul Posluszny - same story. Great instincts, but a slow twitch player with bad lateral mobility. Edmunds is different in that he is an explosive athlete and is reasonably strong in coverage. However, call it lack of instincts, or awareness, or slow twitch, but he has the same issue as Brown and Posluszny, which make him an average to slightly above average player -- he doesn't blow up plays. Nobody really thinks that Edmunds is a bad player, but we're collectively frustrated that the #16 overall draft pick, who has all the physical upside in the world, can't seem to make explosive plays after 5 years in the league. We assume he'll command $15M/Yr+ due to his consistently untapped "upside" ... and we collectively don't want to pay it. Hope this helps give the perspective you need. This seems to be a common theme, at least with my group of well educated Bills Fan friends.
  4. Something to consider ... activated from IR does not mean starting Sunday. They were forced to activate him within a 21 day window and that's exactly what they did. There's still a chance he doesn't play against the Jets.
  5. Very sorry to be the proverbial turd in the punch bowl, but I'd like to see him wrapping up tackles instead of shouldering in.
  6. Sucks to see him get traded to the AFC, but Ravens not having a 2nd or 5th to upgrade WR or OL is pretty juicy as well. Net net, I’m still not afraid of the Ravens at all.
  7. I would encourage you to listen to some interviews with opposing head coaches after they face the Bills. The STRENGTH of this defensive scheme is that it is multi-functional out of the same base set, so the offense has no idea what you're going to throw at them pre-snap. Running a 4-6 Bear or 5-3 technique makes it incredibly obvious what you intend to defend. In the base Nickel, you have Taron Johnson playing as an outside linebacker sometimes and as a nickel corner other times. Do you have any idea how difficult that is to read as an opposing QB?
  8. I've heard this from a few folks the past weeks. So ... you want a 6th round rookie, who has never played safety in his career, to change positions mid-season and start? Do you think there could potentially be any issues there, considering our Safeties play some of the most complicated schemes in the NFL?
  9. Maybe it’s his annoying brother and wife combo, or his BLLEEEEUUU 80 pre-snap call, but I can’t stand Mahomes.
  10. Here me out. Chrischen McCafrey. Mach the 49ers offer and then double it.
  11. Huge. Nothing else matters. He'll be ready for next week and the Bills are taking their time on a week that they're 10.5pt favorites. I love it.
  12. As much as I dislike the Dolphins, I never had any fear of them even as a 100% healthy team.
  13. If it's a race issue, then it's a gender issue and a sexual orientation issue too. Serious lack of gay coaches, don't you think? Big time lack of female coaches as well. I don't see anyone standing on the soap box for those issues. Meanwhile, we do have black coaches, we do reward franchises who hire black coaches, and we do force all organizations to at least interview black coaches. That's progress. The leap from "Nathaniel Hackett is a bad coach and nepotism is a problem" to "nobody wants black coaches" is just way too far for me and I'd say it's way too far for any reasonable person who isn't trying to make every issue a race issue. Brian Flores was a great coach, but he was hired by a bad owner and he SUED his own team. Even after suing his own team, rightly or wrongly, he was hired again. That is not being black balled and it's a terrible example.
  14. I don't really see this as a race thing as much as it is a network/nepotism issue. Saint Doug found a way to stick around the NFL for way too long and Hackett was his best man... brought him over from Syracuse Offense Coordinator. Syracuse. Offensive Coordinator.
  15. Um… is it necessary to dance on his grave?
  16. We have a team filled with players we can be proud of. Why would we trade for a guy who pushed and kicked a woman? Here's a video if some of you would like to re-think this: Let the Browns be the Browns. I don't want to be that team and I don't care if it helps us get fractionally closer to a Super Bowl.
  17. Nobody we pick up off the street would be an upgrade. Any legitimate upgrade would cost significant draft capital. So... would it be better to trade a premium pick for a guard, who we immediately need to pay in the offseason and end up paying instead of Poyer/Edmunds/Phillips, etc. Or would it be better to simply use the draft pick on a Guard this offseason? I think it's pretty clearly, the latter.
  18. Anybody who even a little bit knows football knows that Devin Singletary is not the problem. The problem is our interior o-line and the complete lack of depth behind Singletary. Specifically, we need a power rusher who can complement Singletary in short yardage situations. Those are not hard to find and I'd be fine with either trading Moss for one, or giving up a late round pick for one.
  19. Bumping mine so it can be merged with the … other one.
  20. Dude… I literally made a 3 page long Kaiir Elam thread two days ago on the main page. Did this have to be a separate thread?
  21. Patriots Dec 1st Dolphins Dec 18th Patriots Jan 8th One of those teams might be in the playoff hunt, plus a divisional. I'd say that's flex-worthy.
  22. Lets revisit this at the end of the season
