  1. I'm an optimistic fan - but I have to admit that for the past month or so I feel like I have to brace myself at kickoff for whatever will happen in the ensuing 3-4 hours. The Cowboys game almost felt like cheating, lol
  2. The odd thing about the chart to me is that the two teams that currently look (to my eyes) like the class of their respective conferences (49ers and Ravens) are at the bottom of the chart with a combined 0-6.
  3. Vegas sent Carr home last year with two games left when they were still mathematically alive. Ironically it was also for Stidham.
  4. Similar story - my company expended way too much time and resources in 1999 poring through code. It made sense for the financial systems but was a colossal waste of time for most of the other systems where 'what's the worst that could happen' wasn't really considered. The funny part was 10 years later when an actual y2k problem that wasn't uncovered in 1999 reared it's ugly head. It took an hour or two one Monday morning to figure out what the problem was, fix it and remediate the fall-out.
  5. Are you aware that the Texans lost to Carolina and Atlanta and got blown out by the Jets?
  6. @Big Turk: what @poo said. And he knows cuz he's the sh!t. Seriously, this thread idea was/is pretty cool. Happy holidays and Go Bills!
  7. The only connection I see - and it's a thin one - is when Gronk spiked the Steve Harvey Lego
  8. If I got the story right it happened a little after noon following an incident where one of the relatives was in traffic court and another 'made a scene'. I think the guy that made the scene ended up getting chased leaving traffic court, called his 16 year old son. It was the 16 year old that rolled the Tundra - with his 12 and 4 year old brothers in the truck. I'm actually guessing that alcohol wasn't a factor - afaik nobody got a DWI or any alcohol related charge and no mention of Leandra's Law. With that said it's also hard to imagine sober folks acting as they did.
  9. Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead? Soto is still a Yankee?
  10. https://longisland.news12.com/prosecutors-brawl-on-sunrise-highway-in-north-lindenhurst-was-dispute-between-relatives A few more details but this may be behind a pay wall: https://www.newsday.com/long-island/crime/sunrise-crash-bats-sticks-assault-closed-brawl-f9623hu7
  11. I watched that broadcast and didn't care for it. There's a reason they didn't repeat the experiment. I suppose it could be better these days with large screen TV's and home theater systems.
  12. Yeah, I get it too. It's our choice whether to plunk down the $5.99 for the game on Saturday. I live in Jets/Giants territory too and my choice during the drought was to not see the games - because I wasn't going to a bar at 1 PM on a Sunday and I wasn't going to pay for the Sunday ticket. Looking back it probably saved me a lot of misery, lol. I'm just getting fatigued having to figure out if I have access to a game and on which service. And it's not just football. Last night I was expecting to watch the Islanders until I hunted around and found that I didn't have access. I've also watched some pretty crappy broadcasts - last year the video quality on Amazon was pretty bad and the Apple TV baseball broadcasts teams have been God awful.
  13. Inspired by Wojo I'll add Dietrich and Inspector Luger and Yemana and Harris and Fish....
  14. I'd argue that predictability is an illusion in the NFL - and something that the most ardent/knowledgeable fans are oblivious to. It's why it's so compelling imo.
  15. In fairness we also caught a break on the non-call at the end of the Giants game. We're at where we are at, regardless how we got here it's water under the bridge. Still need some help but I'm looking forward to Saturday.
  16. A lot of folks are crapping on OP - and while I get that the particulars for OP are sketchy I'm sympatico to the over-arching point. Does anyone who isn't watching their favorite team on an illegal stream actually support the current trend? If so, why?
  17. I can honestly say I never watched an episode of The Nanny but I couldn't stand Fran Drescher from whatever previews/commercials I saw. I also couldn't stand Joe Mantegna in Criminal Minds - or anything else I ever saw him in.
  18. I'd argue that competence in coaching is an expectation not a 'nice to have'.
  19. This is exactly why I think giving possession to the defense at the spot of the fumble when it's out of the end zone makes the most sense. It preserves the field position advantage for the offense. I think the fundamental difference of opinion on this is how folks view "out of bounds" vs. "out of the end zone". IMO they are fundamentally different and should be treated that way. Others see them as fundamentally the same.
  20. If they change the rule I hope they just give possession to the defense at the spot of the fumble instead of making it a touchback.
  21. The best part of this story - whether it's true or not - is that I don't care. I'd have no problem if they kept him around. Either way it doesn't move the needle for me. Not like when Brady left NE (which was great) or retired (which was better).
