In the past year or so I saw them playing Waiting for Columbus on PBS and it was great.

@Another Fan @Gugny As soon as I heard about this my first thought was OK, what's next. On the surface it was a head scratcher. Not so much because it's a bad swap - there was a tradeoff wrt to age/contract as well as offense/defense - just that it feels like a precursor to other moves. They created a hole in left and the obvious front runners are Bellinger and Tucker. They valued defense over offense but added to a crowded infield logjam. The fact that they chose defense over offense makes me think Vientos may be the odd man out. It also feels likely they'll try to package some of the youngsters for Skubal. As for Nimmo, I'm sad to see him go. Solid but unspectacular player and an easy guy to root for. I'll miss his sprints to first on walks.

I haven't worn my standing buffalo hat during games the last year or two due to it's poor track record. When I saw the standing buffalo helmets pre-game I decided to tempt fate - and it worked!

Am I misremembering that Americans booing the Canadian anthem was retaliation for Canadians booing the American national anthem? I'm not excusing either but my recollection is Canadians did it first - with that said, I have no clue if it was Toronto. If it was the Americans first what was the trigger? Pretty sure I know what the trigger was if it was Canadians first, but that's a topic for the PPP folks.

We get to vote every day of the year. It's amazing how the NFL has made their product a year long obsession.

I guess I look at it a little differently. As more and more kickers are attempting longer and longer FGs, the number of punts are presumably decreasing. It devalues the defensive stops that used to force a punt. I just think FG's have become too easy (unless your name is Bass!). Hats off to the kickers who have become stronger and more accurate over the years but I just think it's become too easy for a team to get into FG position, particularly at the end of the game.

I appreciate the NFL's attempts at retaining the kickoff as an actual play. College kickoffs have become insufferable and pointless with too many resulting in touchbacks. The kickoff has always been an iconic part of the sport and I'll miss it if/when it's gone but it feels more like when than if.

Whether it's the balls or the conditioning/evolution of kickers I'm not a fan of the long FGs. Narrowing the goal posts would be a good next step. But the NFL and it's fans love the drama of the down-to-the-wire games so I won't hold my breath expecting changes.

I heard a clip of his presser today when he was asked whether it was him. He had a non-answer that he lived in the area and there are a lot of AI fakes out these days. He is who he is - definitely not a guy I'd want as head coach.

I get where your coming from. The more I watch college football the more I'm convinced that coaches of big time college football programs rank amongst the biggest d-bags on the face of the planet. But I thought this was creative and amusing, particularly since it didn't happen during garbage time.
