  1. The first view of the field when you go to a game. I grew up going to baseball games at Shea Stadium. As a kid walking from the outer concourse into the stadium and seeing the field for the first time was always kind of magical. Even into my 20's when my friends and I were getting in line for that first Harry M Stevens Bigger Beer I had to walk out to see the field before I got on the concession line. Good times.
  2. Wake up in the morning Clock says half past one I have no sunglasses as I step into the sun There's no recollection Of the evil things I've done Head feels like I must have had some fun What happened?
  3. Above song came up on a playlist the other day. Classic, love it. Back to the lyrics: I've gotta get home, there's a garden to tend All the fruits on the ground and the birds have all moved Back into my attic, whistlin' static When the young learn to fly, I will patch up the holes once again
  4. There's one team left that I hope loses, I'm fine with the other three. Put your money on the Dodgers.
  5. I was checking out the TMZ video and at the point the caption said something like 'stumbling in front of the bar' I didn't see it. He looked 'off' for sure but I've seen (or been) a stumbling drunk many times and the caption came off as typical click bait BS. Not defending Sanchez at all, whether it was drugs, alcohol, meds, a manic episode or something else everything I've read or seen points to him as the problem. Hope the driver has a full recovery and whatever happens to Sanchez he does as well.
  6. If he was getting in the face of an ortho I'd file this under nothing burger wrt concussion protocol and something the NFL shouldn't care too much about. But still a very bad look for Daboll in general.
  7. This thread is about pizza not board games. And for the record there are much better board games than Dominos too. Sacrilege.
  8. First off, RIP Mike Greenwell. Brutal way for the Phillies to lose, but it's not surprising when relief pitchers have fielding issues. As an aside, the Phillies road unis look great.
  9. I wonder if the Pope hates the Cubbies.
  10. Agreed on Ryans time with the Jets first two years (20-12). Not so much next four years (26-38). How did Rex do with a Bills team "esp considering the competition at the time". Or is that a pass?
  11. That's fine, didn't intend to put words in your mouth wrt loving Rex. I'm highly skeptical that the Rex we saw would have taken us where you think he might have with Josh. Interested in why you think the opposite. What impressed you so much about Ryans time with the Bills that makes you think he could've taken us with Josh to the SB? He was 4 years past his two years with Sanchez and was 26-38 after those two magical years after with Sanchez.
  12. ..and Rex would have allowed us to achieve the ceiling we all want? If I'm dreaming it's bigger than the Rex we saw not the Rex the Jets saw. I get the McD hate, I don't get the Rex love.
  13. For the second straight season I watched a Bills game while on a college visit to see my son. Last year it was the Ravens debacle. Loos like I'll have to schedule next years college visit for the Bills bye week!
  14. The day you syndicate The Rockpile Review is the day you'll be dead to me. JK. Congrats on being published and good luck!
  15. So which 3 deserve a SB ring this year or are running out of time? Different question than how I read it, otherwise I'd go with Josh, someone else and Josh.
  16. #metoo And I'm a Mets fan.
  17. I love how you put Acuna, Baty, Mauricio and Vientos all under Definitely/Maybe. I don't think they should dump all of them or keep all of them, but they can't go into next year with all of them again. I'm inclined to see what Acuna can do full time at second - love his defense and speed. And I really don't want to give up on Mauricio but I'm also not ready to hand him 3B.
  18. @ExWNYer @Gugny @Another Fan I'm not gonna lie, yesterdays loss did not bother me as much as one might think. Unfortunately I came to the realization a week or two ago that this group did not have an extended run in them - although I would've preferred to see them get the chance to prove me wrong. In the end their strong start to the season masked how bad they've been for months to me. As for Stearns and Mendoza, I'm not a pitchforks and torches type fan and I'd give them a pass this year because of how things went last year. Plus, I never got the impression that Mendoza lost clubhouse. I'm more down on Stearns, with the benefit of hindsight his starting pitching plan fell woefully short. It will be very interesting to see how they approach this off-season. Front and center is Pete, but Bor-ass will drag it out like he always does and unfortunately Vientos as the backup plan to Pete isn't all that appealing anymore . Personally I think they need to make some tough decisions wrt Vientos, Baty, McNeil, Acuna and Mauricio - none of them stood out to me. Looking forward to hearing all your thoughts. In the mean time thankfully we have the Bills to transition to!
  19. @Another Fan @Gugny @ExWNYer The roller coaster ride continues. Maybe their best win of the season tonight. I went to the game last Friday against the Nats. I thought that was the beginning of a great Mets weekend, not so much. BTW, 5-0 this year for games attended! I tend to be a fan with rose colored glasses but I have low expectations for this year, hope they prove me wrong.
  20. Who revived you? Kudos to that person. EDIT: and how did you reach the gas pedal?
  21. Never heard this cover until it came up on a 'things like' playlist. A synapse partially fired but I couldn't place it. Thought it may have been a Weezer cover, turns out it was an early 80's Kinks cover that I still can't put a finger on how I know, but I was smoking a lot of weed back then, lol. Nothing ground breaking here just some punk/pop ear candy:
  22. Feels like it's been slowly trending in that direction for years.
