I 110% refer to Tyrone Taylor as Tyrod at all times. Good times.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early on Nolan - but hope we don't give up on him and he becomes the second Nolan we gave up on that goes on to greatness. What's more interesting to me is that given Nolan's early success it looks like they may be prepping Sproat to pitch in as a reliever. @Gugny - completely off topic but I had a laugh this past weekend moving my son into Virginia Tech the past few days. Above the TV in the condo we rented was this:

Just watched ESPN's E60: Southpaw - The Life & Legacy of Jim Abbott One of the great sports stories of my lifetime. Saw him pitch once and it was mind boggling. -
TY. John Elway was a perennial loser in too many peoples eyes until he was a HOFer due to SB wins. He was a better player before the SBs imo. Elway got his days in the sun, I expect Josh will too (as a Bill), but no guarantees. I've been enjoying the ride since we drafted Josh and my boys asked me if we got the right QB. My answer was simple: I have no effin idea but we got one of the top 4 and that's who we're riding with. Good times.

Back to the 80's, this time with a 'hair band'. Not gonna lie, bands like Motley Crue that started out edgy got me into the hair bands. Went to L.A. for a wedding when the hair bands were in full swing and I recorded a few hours of local radio cuz we weren't getting that on the east coast. This song was a product of that and I still like it. My attitude about hair bands was/is that I wished everyone considered this pop. Good times.

I have never set foot inside a Costco. -
This stretch has been brutal, impossible to sugar coat it. But I still expect them to make the playoffs. And I'll hold out hope that when they do they'll be on a heater. But realistically I just don't think their starting pitching is playoff calibre. I could change my mind if Senga and Manaea regain form and figure out how to get to the 7th inning and if Peterson continues to impress and if they get some help from one of the minor league starters.

Growing up I think I heard this as one ton of mellow. I also think I grew up with a different version. Either way, good times!

Pretty sure the Vinny Testaverde 'TD' against the Seahawks (see below starting around 2:50) along with the Bills/Pats debacle in 1998 were main factors in introducing instant replay reviews. Replay reviews are a necessary evil imo, I just wish (and it won't ever happen) that we could avoid the Zapruder-like reviews that take way too long and leave nobody convinced that they got the call right anyway. Cheering or agonizing over a plays outcome well after it happened diminishes the product for me - and that's for all sports.

What Devin Williams is going through this year reminds me of what Edwin Diaz went through with the Mets. Diaz looked like a lost cause but managed to rebound. Based on his history - which is much better than Edwin's pre-Mets history - I'm guessing Williams will bounce back too, but it seems unlikely to happen this year.

That was my plan as well -buy another Ego and I have a backup battery for both. But the weight/size of the lawn mower battery makes me question whether it plugs into Ego's weed whacker. TBH, I got the electric mower in large part anticipating the upcoming ban on gas blowers/whackers.

At the risk of hijacking a Yankees thread, I'd appreciate your thoughts as an Orioles fan on Mullins. My son went to college in the area and said his friends were disappointed to see him traded. Seemed like a marginal upgrade to me.

The one thing I didn't make sure of is whether the battery for the Ego works with their other products. Lawn mower battery is pretty beefy, maybe heavier than I'd want for a weed whacker or leaf blower, but that's a next year problem - when my local town will likely ban gas powered whackers/blowers.

LOL, so growing season you just finish and have to start all over? If you had to replace your Ego tomorrow would you go back to gas?

Sharing my 2025 lawn mower journey in case it's useful to anyone. I have 1/2 acre that is a bear during growing season, gotta mow it every 4-5 days to keep up which isn't always possible. Going into 2025 I had two gas mowers and three lawn mowers (me and two sons). It became obvious early season that I was going to have to replace or fix one or both of my mowers so I was following this thread. The older one had issues with the self-propelled drive and I thought I had that solved by replacing the front wheels as the drive wheel gears were stripped. Shortly thereafter the frame on the newer one cracked rendering it completely useless. I thought about salvaging the engine and putting it on the older one but that looked kind of daunting and regardless I was in the market for a new mower. I considered an electric mower but wasn't convinced that would be a good option for my 1/2 acre so I bought a Toro gas. The big conundrum was front or rear wheel drive. I always had front wheel drive and what I read was that rear wheel was better for hills (I'm mostly flat) but you could tear up the lawn when turning with a rear wheel drive. Toro I bought was rear wheel and that turned out to be a complete non-issue due to the way you engage the self-propelled drive. Love the new Toro with one exception: the handle is way to high and a major pain in the @ss when I'm mowing around the edges/hedges - handle constantly gets stuck in low-lying branches. In the mean time, replacing the drive wheels on the older mower was an improvement but the drive was still no bueno. Tried replacing the drive belt but that didn't help much and so I was back in the market for a second mower. Knowing the Toro could handle the entire lawn I was more inclined to go electric and ended up buying an Ego - rear wheel drive. Made sure the handle was lower addressing my only issue with the Toro. Used it for the first time yesterday. The Ego is capable but less powerful than the Toro and the one issue is that when you're turning it you have to disengage the drive (or rip up the lawn) and there's a delay when you re-engage that is annoying af. Only did half the lawn and the battery was just above half charge so it might be capable of doing the whole lawn on one battery. Looking forward I may have to replace leaf blower and/or weed whacker in the next year or two and I'll look into Ego (brother in-law has been happy with both) especially if batteries are interchangable.

Take this with a grain of salt cuz I'm a Mets fan - but at some point Boone has to take a hit for the mental mistakes. Is it too much to ask to send a message by sitting Jazz for a game or two?

This. Von Miller was an attempt to address that but unfortunately the injury derailed it. We have the QB, but we're missing a game wrecker on D.

That album was the first I'd heard of the band and I liked it. Enough so that I took a deeper dive into their earlier albums and was surprised how much they reminded me of the Ramones And then I heard this and was convinced it was a homage to the mighty Ramones But it's possible I overthink sh!t. Regardless, interesting career arc for the Goo Goo Dolls from punk to Iris.
