I think the NFL has no problem with the controversial plays. It's been going on since I've been watching and it's never affected the ratings or fan interest to my knowledge. The day it affects (or they think it affects) their bottom line is the day they start caring. The confusing/ambiguous rules are window dressing imo.

100% - and I'll avoid making a bad joke about depends. Cholula is a must-have for taco night. The question is which flavor. I like them all, but I'd put green pepper at the pinnacle.

Do Bills players think they can beat the Chiefs?

To be clear is your answer to "Do these guys think they can win when they step on the field?" no? -

Not that serious? Then why not just capitulate and admit that "Do these guys think they can win when they step on the field?" was indefensible when I called it out - or defend it if It's defensible? For the record, IMO where you started with the Dawkins/Jones glad-handing before the game was decided was a reasonable topic. -

Your welcome? Your supposition that I called out was trash and you made no attempt to back it up - other than "How should I know?". Good for you. -

I think your statement implied either or both. -

Most of them and probably. Sorry I asked. -

Flipping the question, do you think there are players on the Bills that stepped on the field expecting to lose? If so, which ones (or group) and why do you think they felt that way? -

I was born early 60's and still waiting, but I'm also an out-of-towner so def not the same experience as locals. Might sound like a broken record (remember those?) but I was thrilled when my sons took to the Bills - I never pushed it on them. We witnessed the drought-breaking TD by Boyd together and went nuts together. When we drafted Josh they were high school and middle school and asked me if he'd be any good. I told them I had no idea but we got one of the four so I was happy. When 13 seconds happened we were crushed and I told them that was their official indoctrination to Bills fandom. In the meantime their Mom felt left out and now is fully in with us. It sucks that we haven't made it to the top yet, they're all feeling the strain more and more each year especially wifey! No regrets that I chose to be a Bills fan and happy as hell that my fam adopted them as well. Despite another disappointing end to the season I'm looking forward to next year! Go Bills!

good comments from Bills players in this new Athletic piece
SinceThe70s replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ya know what's aggravating as hell? In 2020 the NFL added a wild card team and eliminated the bye for the #2 seed. We've been the #2 seed in 4/5 seasons since. -
Disagree. The difference between the Bills and Chiefs in the playoffs has been guys like Chris Jones and Karlaftis - guys who get after the passer. Mahomes didn't lose a beat after Tyreek Hill left. Kelce and D-Hop were not difference makers tonight. Juju put up numbers - and is usually mocked around here. Hollins had nearly as many yards as the almighty Xavier Worthy. The Bills took a big swing with Von a few years ago and it didn't produce the expected results, but that's the type of impact player(s) we need.

Hard to beat the Chiefs and the refs every post-season

The well-coached (and more talented) playoff teams knew that was our trend and adjusted. We didn't counter - except for Josh's dive over the top. -

I'm all for doing the same thing over and over and over until the other team stops it. From what I saw, the Ravens started to make it look less than automatic and for sure tonight KC did. In the regular season Josh would make it a yard or more past the mark. Last week and tonight it wasn't the gimme it was regular season and actually got stopped. -

I don't disagree, but where I was going was maybe they could have a short yardage play that isn't always "Josh go get it". -

At the risk of disparaging the fairer sex, even my wife was questioning why they kept going back to the same play. It just wasn't the automatic play that it was in the regular season. And when they mixed it up and Josh went over the top it was nearly a fumble. -

Where I'll disagree is it's not just this fanbase - from what I've seen it's the majority of the football watching public. Was at a HS football game in the fall and less than 5 minutes into the game a guy sitting next to me was livid over the refs spotting the ball. And the plays weren't even first down or not spots. Folks are hyper focused on the refs. I thought we should've gotten the first down call on review and looking back at the 3rd down play it never should have come down to it. But the bigger issue to me was the over-reliance on Josh on 4th and short when it was getting stuffed going back to last week so I get your point. -
The thought of KC winning another is nauseating and rooting for the Eagles has no appeal whatsoever. But I've watched every SB since I started watching football and this year will be no different. But I'll be most interested in the pools I'm in.

Anyone else here going through "The Calmness?"

100% At the same time I know that by around 10 PM I'll either be floating on cloud 9 or completely dejected. -
My next day started with the NY Times shading the Bills and Josh through one of their daily puzzles. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/connections-sports-edition D!cks.
