  1. Are you going to the game in full Jets apparel ??? Be respectful. Cheering for your team is fine.....taunting is not....trash talking is not. come 3rd and 4th quarter fights can break out. The big difference in Ralph wilson Stadium compared to elsewhere.... The stadium is built in a suburban residential area. Foxboro may be similar (unsure of the surrounding area there). Around the stadium you have people and some small businesses allow people to park on their property for a fee. There are not many roads to the stadium thus traffic can be bad. Usually the traffic is bad from 930-1100 because fans want to get there early to tailgate and cook lunch and drink some beer. Around 12:00-12:30 people head to the stadium. After the game traffic is worse because people arrived from 9am-12pm and then all want to leave right after. Plan on waiting for about 45 minute to an hour after the game before you try to leave Some opt to set up the grill again and do dinner. Parking at the houses can be fun...over the season you develop friendships there and you have a group party before or after the game. If you make friends with 3 other cars you may coordinate on food and what to bring.
  2. Hockey has the same problem being row 1 or 2. section 116 is the side end zone...the right end zone on the TV screen. A pass/run to that side of the end zone you would be on TV. From there you will have blind spot on the near sideline to you at the far end of the field. You view will be blocked by the visitors bench area and the players/people on that sideline. From roughly mid field on down you will have trouble seeing sideline plays. When looking that way you will see the video screen right in front of you that is the broadcast camera feed of the game as seen on TV Because of your low angle its hard to get depth perception on yardage plays. http://www.channel1media.com/bills/seatviews/
  3. At 9-7 Buffalo will have a much harder team because of H2H and conference record. The Jets dont play well on the road. They hit Buffalo when they were without their top 3 CBs and basically played the game of throw deep and maybe we will get lucky. Buffalo needs to get to 2nd place forst before any playoff talk can happen. The way they do that is by beating the Jets and Dolphins at home and then have the Jets and Fins split their season series. Thos two things happen and Buffalo wins out they will be in 2nd place (and could be in 1st)
  4. As I said in my other thread.... Buffalo beats the Jets, Jets lose once to Miami.....and Buffalo beats Miami then Buffalo passes the Jets. To get the WC you need to be in 2nd place....
  5. Want a point of reference---look at Washington last year. Thjey started 3-6 with 8 of 9 games one score games that were decided in the 4th quarter. They had a rookie QB They started to turn it around mid season.... this isnt stars coming together this is having the easiest schedule remaining before the finale where they play @ PIT 2-6 NYJ 5-4 bye ATL 2-6 at TB 0-8 at JAX 0-8 MIA 4-4 at NE They should beat the two winless teams...... They should beat MIA and NYJ at home Its not that much of a logical stretch to say they cant beat ATL and PIT.
  6. they trade up to draft him. WRs drafted in the 3rd round or later are viewed as projects....you cant expect them to step up and start as a rookie. Scouting on him was that he was raw---but the parts that were raw were believed to be teachable. I see him being on the team through next years trainging camp and see what happens. He could be cut if he doesnt show improvement.
  7. I take an OLB over a TE in my sleep in the 1st round. good TE's can be found later in the draft. Its harder to get a top notch OLB later in the draft.
  8. How can Buffalo make the playoffs.... the last wild card is wide open with 10 teams in the AFC having 4-6 loses. Step 1 for buffalo is to get to 2nd place.... How can they get to the point to control their fate..... 1. They beat Jets and fins at home 2. Jets and fins split their 2 games left to play ....they give them all 6 loses.....the first tiebreaker is combined head to head. Buffalo would have the edge. 3. for the division if they can also have Miami beat NE in Miami in week 15 then Buffalo would have the edge in divisional record in tiebreakers. 4. To get the division if they can win out and get to 9-6 and New England lose 3 of their next 6 games till the finale (one at miami must be one of them, then 2 of their other 5 games--DEN, @ BAL, @ CAR, @ HOU, CLE--in order of the most loseable to least loseable). then the final becomes a winner take all for the division title. If they were to beat Miami and lose another game then it will come down to common record and conference record. BUf looks like they will be noncommon 1-1 If New England lost to both HOU and DEN then they will have the edge there if division record was tied. 5. With the wild Card----due to tiebreakers they have the edge on Baltimore, lose to Cleveland, Cincinnati, and KC. The best they can do in conference record would be 7-5 which will make tie breakers potentially tough with other teams. I think many of the other teams will end up 9-7 and 7-9 so getting to 10 wins could mean the wild card.
  9. Last year the team went 12-2 losing at NC State(glennoin was the QB who threw a last second TD for the win) and hosting a top 5 team in Florida. this years team has something like 14 of the 22 starters are 5th yr seniors.
  10. Ifsmith covered his man like he was supposed to Graham was open for the slant pass. Could the CB have come up from behind and hit hit him when the ball got there---sure. He wasnt wide open as Stevie was.
  11. surprised it was the foot---I thought it was the knee since on that pass the thing he landed on was his knee.
  12. the team is playing 2 winless teams, 2 2 win teams, and two division rivals at home that they should beat before the finish at NE. this team should finish at least 8-8 but 9-7 is a realistic finish.
  13. This was a catch if you need to be consistent throughout the league. If this wasnt a catch then TJs fumble wasnt a catch.
  14. Go back to the Cincinnati game...similar situation. 2nd down and goal inside the 2. They ran it on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th and didnt get points. This time they decide to do a pass. The ball was picked because of a DB mistake. Going with an empty backfield from inside the 2 is not a wise play to try. It creates a clogged endzone that is very difficult for a rookie QB to read in terms of trying to look off a DB to open up the field for a pass. If you plan on running You have 5 DBs/LBs on the 5 receivers and then 6 LBs/DLs inside against the OL and QB. Such a play works better if a team is a good short yardage/power running OL. that isnt Buffalo's running style. They arent good on short yardage runs when the defense is all playing within 10 yards of the line. passing plays you do either fades or quick slants. The quick slants are a release on blitzes and hot reads. You have to assume the defense actually plays as they should in their assignments for a play to work. A hot read slant is actually an easy play for a QB to throw.
  15. I believe they can win out to get to 9-6 and play at New England. It depends if they control their own fate, does New England have something to play for, etc. They play 2 teams with no wins, 2 teams with only 2 wins each, and 2 division rivals at home----they can win them all.
  16. Generally they have not put CJ and Freddie on the field at the same time. I dont understand why that is not done. Actually Gailey would line both Jackson and Spiller on the same play. Usually one is out wide and the other in the backfield. CJ is more of a scat back not a power back. He isnt designed to play in the short yardage plays--especially a 3rd and gola on the 1 or 4th and inches. In short yardage plays you are going against bigger players. Today he isnt 100% so him getting caught in a pile like this is a risk and he doesnt have the strength given the ankle sprain to do a leap over pile. If you are talking of having CJ and Freddie in the backfuield in a short yardage play ---who will block for who? You want the second back a blocking back to lead the way on a designed run.
  17. Un $%%%%$ believable in this thread. Tuel played a decent game for a rookie. He threw a pick 6 at the goalline. If the idea you cut the QB for throwing that pass then you could cut every QB in this league---including Brady and Manning. He appeared to run it as a hot read. Had he altered the read to Stevie it would have been a TD and the ball game. The DB who intercepted it actually made a mistake on the play by not covering Stevie He got a lucky INT. He also had about 7 clear cut receiver drops. The second TD return wasnt on Tuels fault. TJ Graham didnt secure the ball. At the Cincinnati game they ran the ball 3 times inside the 2 and failed on 4th down....this time they thought about doing something different.
  18. That is because buffalo have a high % of season ticket holders. I think it was something like 2,000 tix per game to the general public. Much of these ticket sales happened before the season. Hockey reports tickets sales--not gate counts.
  19. There was a piece at the end of interest that McCain had proposed that publicly financed stadiums couldnt blackout games played there.
  20. I though that game was protected? I read in a few articles that the NFL pushed CBS to unprotect that game allowing them to take it---the reason this was going to be a 4:05 game and thus limited on how wide spread it could go. This could mean they owe CBS a favor---unless they balance it out and also force FOX to give a protected game. week 12 safe DEN at NE week 13 flex ???? Giants at WAS---this may be saved if the division title is still within reach to the winner. week 14: flex ??? ATL at GB week 15 flex??? CIN at PIT week 16 safe for now. NE at BAL---BAL still has to be in the hunt for the playoffs.
  21. MY THOUGGHTS: The team is still 6-2 and missing two of their best three defensive players. Their remaining 8 games are as follows: Steelers at home (probable win) Carolina on the road (loss) Broncos at home ( loss) Texans on the road (loss--because its at Houston) Browns at home (likely win--but it will be close 4th quater 3/4 pt lead by Pats) Dolphins on the road (loss--at miami--Buffalo needs them to lose here) Ravens on the road (loss--because its at Baltimore and they play alot better at home and at this time they likely have somethin to play for) I have New england 9-6 entering this game if they win one of those games they are 10-5 Bills at home I see Buffalo enter at 9-6 and thus winner gets the division. If they lose to Miami and Buffalo beats Miami then buffalo would have second tie breaker of division record New England has not impressed---they have survived.
  22. Guys...his is my career. I'd take a job like this in a heartbeat if it paid a respectable salary. Do ths kind of work throughout my career it's just the data that is different. It sounds like his job had multiple components. 1. Analyzing the Bills behavior and their tendencies in situations...thus it gives the orchestra a way to be unpredictable. The situations are based on down, distance, where on the field, when in the game, how close the game s, home/road, grass/turf, etc 2. Doing a similar analysis f the opponents. 3. Come up with metrics in scouting at deciding which player is better based on data at hand. For example post scouting combine they take the data collected and their season/career stats and rank order the players....then the scouts and GM would then use their intangibles and gut to then do some slight adjustments or realize if they may have thought this player was a star by playing at a big time program but this data says otherwise. When it comes to the business side 4. Advertising strategy...best way to market the team regionally or nationally. This isn't just getting them to buy tickets but also getting them to. Buy jerseys, hats, jackets, and other stuff like promotions such as a family package of 4 seats plus other added items. 5. Return on investment for team marketing, charity events, and community promotions. 6. Determine why customers don't renew seasn tickets and figure out what needs to change. Similarly how can you get more people to buy season tickets. Determine different marketing schemes. Why does someone go to 3 games one season but then none the next season. Here is one example, instead of trying to sell season tickets, instead look at selling partial season tickets. The club could market a package of 2 games ( one division, one non, one early season games 1-4, one late season games 4-8 ). You pool people together and offer them a discounted ticket price. How do you market this and when you get a ton of people who sign up for this promo how do you set up an algorithm to look them up as single blocks. Thus you would have 3 groups of 2games assigned to the same seat, and another group assigned to another pair of seats, then a customer who gets one game from one and one from the other. ( ths customer would get 2 non division games). Thus 7 customers buying 2 seat 2 game tickets. In doing this the right way also limits how many singleton seats you are left with.
  23. What it sound like s just immature bullying. I'm sure this incident wasn't the first time. I would react the same way and ()$& this frat house behavior and walk out.
  24. As far as the compensatory pick goes---it should be a 4th. What I have seen is a 1st who leaves---> 3rd comp pick 2nd who leaves---> 4th comp pick Then the comp picks are a net gain or loss. If buffalo was to sign a former 1st or 2nd round pick from another club as a UFA then they likely dont get compensated. i would trade Byrd for a 2nd + 3rd or 4th.
  25. The point of the defense is to get pressure on the QB so the LB only needs to stay with the receiver on short throws/hot reads. the failure of the play was not getting the QB pressure when the play was designed to do.
