  1. The roster I see.... 3 QB 3 RB 6 WR 3 TE 1 WR/TE/FB slot 8 OL 1 BPA 25 offense 8 DL 7 LB 9 DB 1 BPA 25 Defense 3 ST (P, K, LS) this is the final roster---they keep Kolb then put him on the in season IR, then activate Byrd to the roster.
  2. their analysis is utterly meaningless.... lets look at Leinarts career..... firest 2 years he started with the Cardinals with Kurt Warmer breathing down his back. As a typical rookie/2nd yr QB mistakes do happene. The next 2 years he was a back up behind Warner. The next 2 years he goes to Houston--he had ashot when Schaub went down but was injured and out for the year during year 1, then road the bench in year 2. last year he was with that disaster that was the Raiders. He hasn't really gotten a chance. Remember it takes some time for a QB to develop.

  5. If you recall---last season the same thing was done with Easley. He didn't play much and when he played he wasnt thrown to much. They released him to slip him on the PS.
  6. But---if another team signed him to their PS---Buffalo can freely pluck him from their PS and add him to their 53 man roster without compensation. the only restrictions on this would be plucking PS players on future opponents. I think if you play them sometime in the next two weeks you cant claim them.
  7. Interesting----- In a related story....didnt see it mention on this board. PBS Frontline is doing a two part piece on football safety and concussions that is set to air in October. initially this was supposed to be a joint operation with ESPN but then unexplicably ESPN pulled out (belief was Godell pressured them).
  8. To be fair---Hardy had serious injuries---thus not given a fair shot. One of them was a serious knee injury that takes usually a full year to recover.
  9. Actually the opposite is true..... When you have the final cut down day teams will search it big time for talent they can claim and add to their teams 53 or to their PS. the cuts to 75 players tend not to be looked at as additions to a 53 man or a PS---thus its an easy way to slip him to the PS.
  10. Part of the reason they cut him now sends a message of he must have been a problem/bust....thus it he has a better shot at the PS. Remember alot of teams if they feel a player is a project that isnt ready for the team this year but has good long term potential--thus practice squad is usually cut at the first cut down time.
  11. He is free to sign with whichever team he wants to.... He liely signs with Buffalo--- Why??? He is familiar with the system His best buddy plays for the team.
  12. how does thge NFl make this mistake? MLB schedule was released the end of last season before knowing who the super bowl champion was. This is the NFl season kickoff game which is why both teams are displayed.
  13. there was a scheduling conflict with the Orioles. They play in Candem yards on thursday and refused to budge on the schedule of the game. they could have postponed the baseball game from Thursday to a day/night on Saturday or they could have moved the NFL game to Wednesday. Baltimore and the team they are playing are both traveling from out of town game on Wednesday to meet up on thursday so it would be hard to do a 3 pm game. Baltimore teams share the lots as well as downtown employees---having 2 games would be a nightmare.
  14. Impressed with your evaluation of him..... given he started his rookie and 2nd year with Kurt Warner on his back, then the next 2 years behind Warner, then 2 years behind Schaub---not much of a chance to start.Last year he was in a mess that was Oakland. In terms of playing time he has had what less than 2 full seasons starting? remember it takes time for QBs to develop in this league. I see Luck struggling alot this year since teams now have had a year of data to analyze his tendancies...teams will be making it difficult for him.
  15. get your facts right-----Loebbestal was on Wash St from 2008-2011. Tuel was from 2009-2012. In 2009 in was QB by committee--among I think 5 QBs. and 2010 Tuel was the starter, in 2011 Tuel was the starter but got injured playing about 1 game in the season---thus Loebbestal got much of his starts--thus no benching. in 2012 with a new system that Tuel didnt fit he had some problems.
  16. I live in Washington stste......he was injured and basically played only 1 game in one season, then in his final season a new coach comes on with a different system and he loses his best receiver due to a dispute with the coach. Winning and losing takes alot more than just a QB
  17. He can't get on PUP....he was injured in the preseason....instead he can get on in season IR which has a similar timeline as the PUP ...on it for minimum of 6 weeks then a roster exemption to have them practice before activation.
  18. Lineart is actually better than many seem to realize. In Arizona he was in a difficult situation with Kurt Warner. He starts his rookie and 2 nd year...but he is still learning. Warner then takes the job the next 2 yrs. Since then he hasn't gotten a decent shot. He had a shot in Houston when Schaub went down...in his first game he is injured...and done for the season.
  19. Byrd is exempt frm the roster count for 2 weeks. I think when he is ready to be activated buffalo will likely put Gilmore( or another injured player) on the in season IR with the plan to activate him after 6 weeks.
  20. The reserve nn football injury /PUP does not mean season ending IR...it means can't practice with the team until after week 6 then they get a 3 week window to decide of this show play or not.
  21. If the NFL was smart they would actually just allow distribution through all service providers similar to the other sports.
  22. I live in Washington State where it is legal. Possession up to a specific amount is legal. Police will not do anything---thus it will not get reported---thus the NFL would not know. There is a separate part which is a DUI case---just like alcohol there would be a blood test to determine if you were DUI or not. This part isnt defined clearly yet. The federal property areas in Washington state (national parks, national forests, military bases) will prosecute in federal court. Places that get federal funding will still not allow possession (Universities and Colleges) the NFL would be put into a legal quagmire if they tried to challenge it. It will be similar to the case with the Vikings and the NFL in minnesota regarding workplace rules and jurisdiction. I am willing to bet if a player who played for Seattle smoked legally at his home and the NFL found out there will be a legal challenge to this policy and the player would win. thus pot enforcement willfollow the same avenue as alcohol enforcement regulations the NFl uses. Pot would be just like alcohol in washington state. you cant fire an employee because they had a beer at home. you can fire an employee because they came in drunk. Same logic would apply to pot. The NFL would not have a leg to stand on.
  23. In response to the now closed thread------ Actually the reason Rogers signed with buffalo.... He developed a good relationship with robert woods having the same agent and working out together pre draft. Woods got drafted by buffalo---Rogers picked buffalo.
  24. You can't be throwing money at players just because you have the money. With Byrd cntract they have about $25M......The big names in 2014 will be Byrd, Carrington, Erc Wood, ans Scott Chandler
