The gateway drug theory is dubious at best. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gateway_drug_theory Personally, I have imbibed for over 25 years and aside from some college-age experimentation with psychedelics I have never touched any hard drugs. Never.

I was disappointed with the Wing Festival in Buffalo when I attended a few years back mainly because they did not allow the individual concessionaires to cook their own wings, which to me is a huge part of what makes a great wing. In retrospect it makes sense, having dozens of vendors out on the ball field each with their own big deep fryers is going to be inviting disaster. But when they came by with the trays of wings from the main cooking area, each place would proceed to pour a pitcher of their sauce all over the wings, thus killing any hope for crispiness. By the time it got to us, the skin was flabby and rubbery and unpleasant (and really difficult to eat while standing). So for us it was more a 'wing sauce' festival rather than a wing festival. Also the wings were advertised everywhere as 'jumbo' to justify the cost which I didn't appreciate because they were certainly no bigger than regular wings. So although I love the idea (and the cool t-shirt which I get asked about all the time) we decided we won't be back.

If you're an acoustic guitar fan, I'd highly recommend catching Rodrigo y Gabriela on their tour. Amazing show at Red Rocks last night; they played several new songs and they were all fantastic and the 20+ minute version of Pink Floyd's Echoes was a real highlight.

Anyone remember November 29. 1998?

I have a scar on my arm from putting it through a window, so yeah..I remember this game -
it's been this way for a long time now. During a Bills away trip to Denver maybe 10 years ago I met a guy at Lodos bar who said he does computer work for the team and before I could even complete my question he said words to the effect of 'yeah I know the web site sucks' and how frustrated they were when they lost a lot of their creative control

Earliest TV shows/specials you remember watching
coloradobillsfan replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Land of the Lost, used to scare the willies out of me and ignited my fascination for dinosaurs that exists to this day And my whole world stopped when Wonder Woman was on, and the Muppet Show too -
I took a 40 hour train trip when I moved to Denver in 96. No exaggeration I was friggin delirious by the time we pulled in to Union Station. Could not sleep in the upright seats to save my life so that probably had a lot to do with it. I don't remember seeing any train tracks near the Tetons so not sure how much you will see? The eastern (Wyoming) side is the most picturesque... a mile of vertical rise with no foothills

selling season tickets on stubhub
coloradobillsfan replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry Elite; I quoted your post but my anger was not intended to be in your direction. I'm just frustrated that a team and league that I've supported for decades is trying to force me to get an expensive device that I don't want or need for any other purpose. -

I am on a computer 9 hours a day for work, and god knows how many hours at home - I don't need to be connected while I'm driving or enjoying time off actually looking at and experiencing the world. I don't have a smart phone, I don't need a smart phone, I don't want a smart phone. Yes I can go to the box office and get them printed, but it's annoying to spend tailgating time (which for some games is the only fun of the day) standing in another line. /rant -

What else is easy peezy would be to scan my CC or DL at the gate like they have done for every event I've attended at the Pepsi Center for years now. Everybody is happy, and no one has to stand in yet another line on game day. -
Make the Perfect Fast Food Meal
coloradobillsfan replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in Off the Wall Archives
With all the amazing options you have for chow out there in WNY I'm surprised anyone patronizes fast food chains regularly -
The James Corden carpool karaoke with Sir Paul was pretty cool if you haven't seen it yet

Taking full advantage of having Red Rocks around the corner, going to 2 x Tedeschi Trucks Band, Old Crow Medicine Show, Gov't Mule, and Rodrigo y Gabriela. Also I'll probably feel a little out of place, but I managed to get a ticket to Bruno Mars at the Pepsi Center - I don't like all his songs but dig when he channels James Brown in songs like 'Perm'

Bills Are 18th Best Fans in America
coloradobillsfan replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
These people take their family photos with Chiefs gear on. Their stadium lots smell amazing with all the wood smoke; we saw someone light their charcoal in the back of their open bed pickup truck while stuck in traffic entering the lot. After initial boo-ing when they saw our Bills colors, most of them invited us over to share food and talk about our team and many complimented us for traveling to support them. These are upper echelon fans in KC and they get a lot of respect in my book -
Richard Harrison - Pawn Stars - dies at 77

I'm happy to tip the scale to Neil, even if only momentarily I used to dislike his voice a long time ago. But then again I also once disliked the taste of beer! I saw him rock a whole bunch of shows over the years, but it became especially clear when I started picking up the guitar. Neil Young songs are some of the best to play when first learning because they are familiar and often use simple open chords with just one little hook somewhere that you need to learn, and will make you a better player Highly recommend Neil if you like his songs and are also thinking about learning to play an acoustic guitar use hyperrust.org for tabs

You mentioned a 'lack of overall talent' in the band, I believe talent includes songwriting - that's the only reason I got on the defensive. Whether or not the Experience counts in the ever-subjective 'best rock band' category is probably a discussion in itself
-
Wow you have a serious standard to live up to! Even putting the guitar to the side, he penned the lyrics to pretty much all their songs which puts him into elite songwriter category in my book. He wrote a massive amount of hits for The Who.
-
Curious who in The Who would you consider to be the weak link in talent?
-
This may well be true, but I feel we need to differentiate 'band' from a solo artist in this instance. It's for this same reason I have to eliminate any of the Hendrix lineups from our 'best band' discussions. But your point is still well taken and has me reading and learning more about Buddy this morning.

Nearly every party I attend these days seems to end up with the inevitable drunken Beatles vs Zep who was the best band ever argument. Live, no question Zep, and the Stones, are a cut above.. and a lot of other bands too really. But for me the crown goes to the most influential, and from what I can surmise is the Beatles were the first band to take the music industry from 'play what you're supposed to play' (ie. pander to the radio and record company executives) to NO we will record what we want to record and produce how we want to produce, essentially putting the power into the hands of the artists where it belongs.
