TBD Monday night NE game. (Tailgate Sign up)

2 General please, thanks very much! -
I see a lot of talent on the defensive side of the ball, and I'm confident they would have played a lot better on Sunday if we showed even the slightest bit of competency on the offensive side. I would hope even in a rebuilding/retooling/regurgitating year we could at least field a 'fair' offense but we can't even do that and therefore I think we're wasting what could have been a top defense.

Recommend me a good frozen dinner
coloradobillsfan replied to Roundybout's topic in Off the Wall Archives
if you can find them, there's a line of frozen food called 'Devour'.. all of their products are mucho tasty but I warn you - don't look at the 'nutrition' label - their numbers are off the charts, even by frozen food standards! > you reminded me of the Stouffers lasagna, which I used to love! "It's like - hell yeah I'm stoked for this lasagna! Then you nuke it and the cheese is all scabby.. it's like whatever happened to truth in advertising??" (/BB Reference) -
The IDA Mashed Roast Beef Sandwich - mashed potatoes and onion rings on a roast beef sandwich with extra horseradish.. hell yeah

Who has a pet buried in the backyard?
coloradobillsfan replied to mead107's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I had a tiny catfish that lived 15 years - impressed me so much I couldn't bear to flush him so I buried him next to our apartment building. A few months later, I come home from work to find an excavator in the yard - they're tearing up the whole place including my makeshift plot to fix a drainage issue LOL I wonder if he's haunting them for disturbing his peaceful rest -
I've watched the whole series through no less than 6 times (once backwards) and there are still new details and nuances I pick up that I didn't notice before. The layers of complexity and detail and how everything lines up not only within BB but also BCS is beyond remarkable! What an amazing team of writers Vince has put together.

Totally agree, which makes it even more baffling how many places find different ways to screw them up. There's a bar here in Golden that makes pretty simple but okay wings - but they don't bother to butcher and separate the drum and the flat or even the wing tip! So you get this big awkward pile of connected chicken bones that you immediately have to start cracking and twisting to separate like a lobster or something. On the positive side, we have the Shawing food truck here in the Denver metro area, and Chris does a great job of making consistently great wings plus a lot of other WNY specialties and he offers discounts for Buffalo fans - so heads up to all the Colorado Bills Backers here to hunt down his orange truck at some of the best brewpubs in town (shawingtruck.com)

earliest memory I can put an actual date on is being 3 1/2 years old at Centennial Park in West Seneca during the Bicentennial 4th of July celebration in 1976. it's just a blur of red white and blue colors in my head but I believe we watched the parade go down Union Rd and I think they were throwing candy from the floats

I think Matt and Trey could pull off some funny stuff with them as teenagers

back when they did that '4th grade' season I thought they might break the mold and actually have the kids grow up on the show. too bad they didn't, I think that would have been pretty neat.

Bert and Ernie: Boyfriends or Just Roommates?

This sure didn't stop them from playing up the Kermit-Miss Piggy relationship -
I hope they realize the tailgate is a major reason why I even buy a ticket in the first place. I've been to more meaningless December games than I can ever hope to remember, and the party before the games is the biggest reason I do. I know I'm not a STH so my opinion probably doesn't matter much, but I also know there are many others like me.

I post this every once in a while as a PSA.. if your audio setup has a center channel you can turn it off and mute the announcers leaving the sounds of the game intact.

Picked up my new glasses today
coloradobillsfan replied to RochesterRob's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I couldn't deal with progressive lenses. When I complained about not being able to see clearly outside of the 'hour glass' zone, they told me I needed to learn to 'point my nose' at whatever I wanted to look at. With my 3 monitor display at work this turned me into some sort of awkward bird, constantly moving my head back and forth. I bailed out and went back to single-focus lenses, but reading is difficult and I have to either move these glasses towards the end of my nose or take them off entirely (I'm myopic). It sucks getting old and this fact is getting more evident every day... -
Do you curse a lot in real life?

lots of interesting studies about swearing and the brain - won't link them here since they are easy to google but basically, they originate in a different part of the brain than normal conversational speech. -
The gateway drug theory is dubious at best. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gateway_drug_theory Personally, I have imbibed for over 25 years and aside from some college-age experimentation with psychedelics I have never touched any hard drugs. Never.

I was disappointed with the Wing Festival in Buffalo when I attended a few years back mainly because they did not allow the individual concessionaires to cook their own wings, which to me is a huge part of what makes a great wing. In retrospect it makes sense, having dozens of vendors out on the ball field each with their own big deep fryers is going to be inviting disaster. But when they came by with the trays of wings from the main cooking area, each place would proceed to pour a pitcher of their sauce all over the wings, thus killing any hope for crispiness. By the time it got to us, the skin was flabby and rubbery and unpleasant (and really difficult to eat while standing). So for us it was more a 'wing sauce' festival rather than a wing festival. Also the wings were advertised everywhere as 'jumbo' to justify the cost which I didn't appreciate because they were certainly no bigger than regular wings. So although I love the idea (and the cool t-shirt which I get asked about all the time) we decided we won't be back.

If you're an acoustic guitar fan, I'd highly recommend catching Rodrigo y Gabriela on their tour. Amazing show at Red Rocks last night; they played several new songs and they were all fantastic and the 20+ minute version of Pink Floyd's Echoes was a real highlight.
