  1. listening to fillmore east for the umpteenth time, cant think of any live usa album that can even come close
  2. It's a total and complete guilty pleasure I grant you, but I enjoy Masterchef Australia. Charismatic judges, amazing complex challenges and world renowned guest chefs. It's even on 5 days a week, but I've only been able to find it on euro streaming sites. I also enjoy the judges and food critics on UK Masterchef; the Chef's Table challenge just before the finale is often the biggest gathering of Michelin starred chefs in the world for that year. Can't stand Chef Ramsay and his stupid questions to the contestants like 'who do you most want to take out of the competition' - won't watch him ever again.
  3. I'm still worried about those shootouts. They could certainly be the difference between playoffs and a lottery pick in '18
  4. have my own woodstock
  5. if you don't 'get' sgt. pepper you'll never get the beatles, it's worth a complete listen through but in my opinion, they are great because they broke the mold.. bands as we know them basically didn't exist before the beatles came along I don't expect younger generations to start grooving out to love me do, but they should respect that the beatles changed the entire music landscape, and in many respects the world in the process
  6. I'm not sure if he's an expert or not but 'the crazy russian hacker' Taras Kul has some educational beekeeping videos that I like to watch: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLPw1VbYiNnHkwfE697Yqach94hRbbKFsM
  7. Put an RyG show at Red Rocks on your bucket list. Sadly, it doesn't look like it will be this year though.
  8. in 77, there was a storm that dumped a bunch of snow on us, but the lake to the west was frozen at the time so it collected on the lake too then the crazy winds started and it blew all the snow off the lake onto buffalo. so although the snow totals weren't biblically high for a blizzard, the drifts were nothing short of amazing. there are some insane pictures of the wall of blowing snow heading towards the city out there. I was young but I remember the first floor of our split level house was dark for days, and I remember our mom worrying about us getting near the telephone wires as we played in the snow on our neighbor's second story roof.
  9. If you have 5.1 sound, you can turn off the center channel which mutes the announcers
  10. All In The Family Breaking Bad Sopranos Seinfeld Fawlty Towers
  11. I think it was called something like "Let's Go To The Races". I thought it was through Bells, but maybe they both did it.
  12. I would have been willing to give Lynn a shot at HC next year, but after this play call I don't want him Would not have thought one play would make that big of a difference, but this showed amazingly spectacular incompetence.
  13. I'm a successful network engineer and a marijuana user. I don't smoke at or before work, just like I wouldn't drink at or before work. But after work and weekends is my time - neither the government (nor anyone else) has any business in it. The only factor I have ever had to worry about was the legality, and I'm happy (and proud) to say that in my state it is now legal. I hope other states follow suit so others like me who want to enjoy marijuana privately can do so without fear of reprisal. This will be my one and only post on this topic.
  14. re: #2, it's been so nice just to see the play calls getting in on time! last week vs. the cards the bills offense had a big play that could have easily been challenged/overruled but the bills got the snap off before they had a chance to get a good look at it on replay and throw the red flag. good things happen when you get the play call in on time!
  15. we have a much much better fanbase but if the bills had completed the unlikely comeback against the jets there would have been less than 1/4 of the stadium left to see it
  16. np, I see it here all the time. I guess it really only 'makes my blood boil' me when I see it in this type of context: Person A makes a point. Person B makes a counter-point. Person A says "Just sayin'.." As if 'Just sayin' is some sort of overlooked logic. Oh you're just sayin' ! Then of course you must be right..
  17. I hear that all the time on Peoples Court, and presume it must happen a lot in real court as well. No quicker way to blow your credibility
  18. Just sayin'.. If you're just sayin', then just f&%$in' say it
  19. I'm 1 for 1 on jury duty selection too... or 0 for 1 I guess depending on how you look at it. It was an interesting case at least involving a couple teenagers who were caught hootin'-and-hollerin' driving a pickup truck around town with a rifle out one window and a confederate flag out the other. I really don't think they were out to actually hurt anyone, but they scared the willies out of three hispanic kids who testified. Their defense lawyer was the biggest idiot when his first statement was along the lines of 'we don't deny any of what the prosecution said', apparently asking us to consider that menacing (aka. brandishing in some states) was not the right charge. I kept the deliberation going a good couple hours longer after everyone else in the jury had pretty much made up their mind (guilty) but I thought we owed the teenager at least a solid discussion of whether or not there was any technicality that his dummy lawyer might have had a point on. But in the end, the menacing law is pretty clear in this state - you do not use firearms to intimidate.
  20. Interesting that the sentiment here seems to be our team was simply named after a cowboy who was famous for killing buffalo. Buffalo Bill Cody was the most famous American in the world for decades. He was a pony express rider, a decorated civil war scout, an extraordinary marksman, and an adviser on the American frontier to every President under whom he served. He was also the architect of the greatest Wild West show the world had ever seen, literally shipping the American West experience to countries overseas earning him friendships with kings, queens, and nobility around the world. Not even Bill himself would deny he had a checkered past - this is the 1800s Wild West after all, where 'heroes' like Jesse James and Billy the Kid held reverence. But I'm actually really proud my favorite football team holds a lineage with such a remarkable yet apparently mostly forgotten figure.
  21. 2 General for coloradobillsfan please One arriving when you open, the other about 2pm - if you can get us together great, if not no big deal
  22. It's how many years later now, and this still makes me nun-punching mad if I think about it long enough
