  1. For the last 15 years I've been coming home to Buffalo for the game closest to Christmas, to be back with my friends and family that live in WNY. Guess how the Bills are usually doing by this time of year? So yeah, the tailgating is a pretty important factor to me attending a game that means pretty much nothing in the standings, aside from being occasional spoilers. The great times we have in the lots makes it worthwhile
  2. Nine years is not enough. Who will feel comfortable when this guy gets out?? His freedom on Earth should be done, over with, kaput. No place on this planet for someone who is this cold
  3. the wind, which was fierce at times, blew huge amounts of snow off Lake Erie which had frozen over. so the snow totals were relatively low, but the drifts that piled up against houses and buildings were truly immense.
  4. two td's but who's counting
  5. > Every year we have this game where we win and I could care less If you could, why don't you? Sorry, pet peeve
  6. some info here https://www.facebook.com/Downtown-Philadelphia-Buffalo-Bills-Backers-130449452834/ have fun be safe and go Bills!
  7. I walked by this place during my trip to London last year, would be very curious to know if they are any good too!
  8. was the HAMMER sign ever found/returned?
  9. I hate the train whistle, it certainly detracts from the game day experience. (and I love trains)
  10. If you're listening online through the web browser app, on the bottom left (by the play/stop button, and volume control) it will say "Commercial Break" when they are in commercials, so I usually hit Mute when I hear them talking about what's coming up after the break, then un-Mute when I see those words disappear. It's not perfect, sometimes I'll catch the last half of a commercial or so, but it's worth it to not take the full brunt of those awful ads.
  11. and the award for most unsettled qb position in the nfl goes to....
  12. the more the news sinks in, surprisingly, the better I feel. I'm still shedding an occasional tear - but what an amazing life and legacy. And how lucky were we to have him with us for so long! his music will always be around to help those who need it to get through tough times. and even when you're feeling good, the blues can still be your best friend. knowing that generations to come will still have this warms my soul. thank you Mr. King
  13. there is nothing even in the same solar system as Wegmans out here in Colorado
  14. Now the Bills are secure, it's not nearly as much of an issue but I've met a ton of cool Canadian fans at the Ralph who come down and support the Bills because they love the atmosphere and have embraced the team (even through all these losing years). I enjoy that cross-border camaraderie and although I'm sure some would still continue to come to Buffalo, I'd hate to see anything that would jeopardize or dilute that.
  15. I was talking to some Buffalo media members during a weekend the Bills were in town and was introduced to one of the BB web site admins. I said "The Bills backer section of the web site.." and he finished my sentence: "..sucks!" (I was going to be a little more PC but that was my sentiment). He told me the league took almost all of the creative control away from the individual teams. I remember there was a lot of frustration in his voice.
  16. Exactly.. you have to define what 'better' means in this question or it's hard to get anything close to an answer
  17. Most of my friends argue with me Led Zep vs The Beatles. The Stones don't even come up.
  18. > it needs to be downtown where it will help generate business growth. where has this concept been proven with football stadiums? here in Denver the stadium is downtown, but the area around it is not full of businesses thriving off of it. No special shops or restaurants; Federal ave is the same as any other commercial road. Baseball stadiums I can see.. Coors Field completely revitalized Lower Downtown. But football stadiums sit idle for too many days of the year.
  19. Nobody is arguing he didn't kill a whole heck of a lot of bison. This is originally what he was paid for, and he even earned his name in a bison killing contest against another man who claimed the same 'Buffalo Bill' title. But to say he helped cause their extinction (which in itself is incorrect because they are not extinct (yet)) is just not true and is unfair to his legacy. I doubt there is an American from that era who would be more disappointed to learn that they no longer roam the American west.
  20. Wild Bill Cody? I think I know who needs the history lesson. "Cody supported conservation by speaking out against hide-hunting and pushing for a hunting season" Wilson, R.L. (1998). Buffalo Bill's Wild West: An American Legend. Random House. p. 316. ISBN 978-0-375-50106-7.
  21. You will never see the word "Show" on anything Buffalo Bill Cody directly endorsed. He hated the word because he went to great lengths to make his entertainment as realistic as possible (save for some artistic license, eg. the 'first scalp for Custer' reenactment)
  22. Yellowstone slaughters them by the hundreds, in traps.
  23. the OP plan pretty much puts the new stadium on top of Sheldon cemetery
