  1. was the HAMMER sign ever found/returned?
  2. I hate the train whistle, it certainly detracts from the game day experience. (and I love trains)
  3. If you're listening online through the web browser app, on the bottom left (by the play/stop button, and volume control) it will say "Commercial Break" when they are in commercials, so I usually hit Mute when I hear them talking about what's coming up after the break, then un-Mute when I see those words disappear. It's not perfect, sometimes I'll catch the last half of a commercial or so, but it's worth it to not take the full brunt of those awful ads.
  4. and the award for most unsettled qb position in the nfl goes to....
  5. the more the news sinks in, surprisingly, the better I feel. I'm still shedding an occasional tear - but what an amazing life and legacy. And how lucky were we to have him with us for so long! his music will always be around to help those who need it to get through tough times. and even when you're feeling good, the blues can still be your best friend. knowing that generations to come will still have this warms my soul. thank you Mr. King
  6. there is nothing even in the same solar system as Wegmans out here in Colorado
  7. Now the Bills are secure, it's not nearly as much of an issue but I've met a ton of cool Canadian fans at the Ralph who come down and support the Bills because they love the atmosphere and have embraced the team (even through all these losing years). I enjoy that cross-border camaraderie and although I'm sure some would still continue to come to Buffalo, I'd hate to see anything that would jeopardize or dilute that.
  8. I was talking to some Buffalo media members during a weekend the Bills were in town and was introduced to one of the BB web site admins. I said "The Bills backer section of the web site.." and he finished my sentence: "..sucks!" (I was going to be a little more PC but that was my sentiment). He told me the league took almost all of the creative control away from the individual teams. I remember there was a lot of frustration in his voice.
  9. Exactly.. you have to define what 'better' means in this question or it's hard to get anything close to an answer
  10. Most of my friends argue with me Led Zep vs The Beatles. The Stones don't even come up.
  11. > it needs to be downtown where it will help generate business growth. where has this concept been proven with football stadiums? here in Denver the stadium is downtown, but the area around it is not full of businesses thriving off of it. No special shops or restaurants; Federal ave is the same as any other commercial road. Baseball stadiums I can see.. Coors Field completely revitalized Lower Downtown. But football stadiums sit idle for too many days of the year.
  12. Nobody is arguing he didn't kill a whole heck of a lot of bison. This is originally what he was paid for, and he even earned his name in a bison killing contest against another man who claimed the same 'Buffalo Bill' title. But to say he helped cause their extinction (which in itself is incorrect because they are not extinct (yet)) is just not true and is unfair to his legacy. I doubt there is an American from that era who would be more disappointed to learn that they no longer roam the American west.
  13. Wild Bill Cody? I think I know who needs the history lesson. "Cody supported conservation by speaking out against hide-hunting and pushing for a hunting season" Wilson, R.L. (1998). Buffalo Bill's Wild West: An American Legend. Random House. p. 316. ISBN 978-0-375-50106-7.
  14. You will never see the word "Show" on anything Buffalo Bill Cody directly endorsed. He hated the word because he went to great lengths to make his entertainment as realistic as possible (save for some artistic license, eg. the 'first scalp for Custer' reenactment)
  15. Yellowstone slaughters them by the hundreds, in traps.
  16. the OP plan pretty much puts the new stadium on top of Sheldon cemetery
  17. It's actually a feasible road trip for us (a 600 mile drive is 'close' out here)
  18. My best ever memories tailgating at the Ralph (or anywhere) are at Hammer's Lot. We showed up late (8am) to the home opener this year, but Hammer was still able to squeeze us in, albeit next to Dolphins fans. It turns out these Fin fans are the same cats whohelp take care of Kenny during his annual trips to the Miami away game, so they knew what was up and we ended up exchanging shots and stories the whole time. I won't even entertain the thought of going anywhere else, so Thank You Hammer - have a great holiday too
  19. the invention of pepper extracts kind of ruined the fun of suicide wings for me, now anyone can make a thermonuclear sauce with daves, pure cap, etc. I believe most hot food competitions have banned them, which is probably good because they have sent more than a few to the hospital
  20. Bills4Life web site offers the following info: http://www.bills4life.com/events/buffalo_bills_at_oakland_raiders_ "We will also be hosting a grand tailgate for the game as well. If you have never been to Oakland before, they have Disneyland parking, so you have to park where they tell you to. What we are going to do is meet up at the Oakland Coliseum DMV and caravan over to the stadium. We've done this before and it's worked out great for us every time. Here is the address of the DMV: 501 85th Ave, Oakland, CA 94621 We are asking everyone to bring their own food and drink and other necessities so that we can all share what we have. If you have any further questions, feel free to e-mail me at markvaderr@sbcglobal.net or message me on facebook. I look forward to seeing you in December. Take care and GO BILLS!!! Mark Vaderr"
  21. Thanks to everyone who came out and made this a great weekend! We sure hope it's not another 6 years til we see you again! Any Bills who finds themselves in Denver on gameday, please feel free to join us at Lodos Bar - we would love to have you! http://galleries.buf...aspx?id=3389#/0
  22. if the bills claim victory, no place after the game will be bouncing more than lodos. walk drive cab or pedicab it's only 1.5 miles
  23. cross-posting this a couple places on TSW: Our tailgate tickets sold out, we're sorry for those who weren't able to get them but many many tickets were sold The Hotel VQ parking adjacent to our tailgate location should have plenty of spaces if you get there early, it's also very easy to spot because it's the only tower hope to see everyone this weekend
