  1. Pretty sure you guys will understand this.. this was not in Buffalo of course Got a triple order of wings for takeout - received one small blue cheese Asked for 2 more, was told they are 50¢ each Said I ordered a triple order - should get 3 containers of BC Got flat out refused. Asked for manager - she was the manager. Countered her attitude with a blaze of obscenities as I stormed out the door and never went back Wings weren't good anyway, what a surprise (pro tip for Coloradans here: Sha-Wing Food Truck has the best wings in CO)
  2. something similar to the originial post happened on a recent episode of Finding Your Roots, which is a fascinating show if you are interested in this kind of thing
  3. The Longest Day should probably be on this list too
  4. I've never seen the show, but I keep hearing good things. Gonna have to check it out soon since it's on Netflix now. It's definitely not for everyone; the show is not fast paced and sometimes the funniest line is something Basil (Cleese) mumbles under his breath! But every line was painstakingly scrutinized and episodes often took weeks to write - their attention to detail is remarkable and in my opinion (and many others) genius.
  5. I listen to comedy radio on the way to/from work and Jim Gaffigan seems to be the guy I laugh at the most regularly. He's just got one of those voices that even when he's not saying a funny line I still laugh because of the way he delivers it. Kathleen Madigan is my favorite female comedienne.. (I typed that word naturally but had to look it up to make sure it was right) My friend works at the Comedy Works here in Denver and introduced me to her years ago. She definitely doesn't just do the typical female jokes. All time, definitely Carlin though. He made the mold and then broke it. I know every word of Occupation Foole but still laugh anyway. Kind of like how I will laugh throughout Fawlty Towers despite knowing every line and nuance (best comedy tv show of all time btw)
  6. I had Bar Bills over xmas break and they were simply fantastic. Nothing but clean bones on the table when we were done; not even leaving the little nibs of meat on the ends. So if they are even better at Gabriel's Gate then they must be spectacular! And if I don't have to stand *inside* a coat rack while waiting for a table like at BB's then that's another bonus.
  7. Yes - this is why I was so worried when we went through that whole draft tiebreakers thing with Denver So glad that didn't go to a coin flip!
  8. the article is 2 years old; there are more recent news articles suggesting the same but most include the same quotes I certainly wouldn't put it past him, but as far as I can tell there are no plans in the works
  9. I get really defensive about mashed potatoes too.. not sure I'd go to war over it but maybe..
  10. Just stumbled on something I didn't know.. the actress who played Tony's mom Livia (Nancy Marchand) was born and raised in Buffalo
  11. Never met Pack fans who didn't like to drink beers, talk X's and O's, play games, ice fish etc. I've had a lot of fun with them over the years
  12. It has to be posted: LOL those ice cubes..
  13. Nothing upsets me more than "fans" who pick two or more teams to root for, then change their clothes depending on which way the wind blows
  14. Nothing beats being at the stadium, especially for the home opener and meaningful games later in the season. Sharing food and drinks and games with neighboring groups even if they're not wearing their colors because I like seeing people from outside our area get a taste of what makes our experience so special. A relative choice 'in the middle' for us out-of-towners is going to the local Bills Backers bar - getting to see old friends and make new ones, cheering in unison with dozens if not hundreds of other Bills fans, and spilling out into the streets of downtown Denver after a big win (or timely Andy Dalton throw) makes for some of my best Bills memories.
  15. simple, just warp space and you can travel infinite distances without having to go through space
  16. You have bigger fish to fry than Bill Cody if you want to throw blame around for the virtual extinction of the American Bison.
  17. It doesn't even make any sense when you think about it. A train horn signifies a large basically unstoppable object coming down the tracks at you But we play it when we're on Defense...
  18. Until Elvis, Buffalo Bill was the most famous American in the world, including presidents. He never labeled his Wild West performances as shows, as he tried to provide re-enactments of real-life in the American west. The fastest way to spot fake memorabilia is to find the word 'show' on the item.
  19. If I squint, (or use binos) I can see the flag flying over his gravesite
  20. I believe his proper 21st century response would be "just sayin" because that obviously clears everything up
  21. it's been hockey season for a while now.. RJ doing okay.. still things to be thankful for
  22. feel like they gave up on this season when we lost our 2 best offensive linemen and did virtually nothing to replace them
  23. I had a really rare opportunity to meet Roger Waters after a show in '99 (usually he splits immediately in a black dark van with motorcycle cavalcade like some sort of head of state). While standing in line, it became apparent we'd only get a quick moment with him. So I made a judgement call to shake his hand instead of getting the autograph. It actually made for an awkward moment, with him holding a marker waiting for something to sign and me dangling my hand out in the wind instead. When he looked at me, I said "thank you Roger" and he gave me a really quick handshake (learned later he's a bit of a germaphobe). Being able to tell people (and you now) that I shook the hand that wrote The Wall is better than an autograph to me so I've never regretted it. Can you tell I'm a huge PF fan ??
  24. How can his content be "annoying" when you're the one who clicked play on it? Just askin...
  25. I've never bought into either of these other myths. Chef Paul Kirk (aka 'the baron of barbecue') taught me long ago that smoke is accepted by most meats at a pretty low temperature which is why it's so important to have the wood chunks in the coals early in the process. After the meat reaches a certain temperature (which varies of course) the pores close and become pretty impermeable to smoke.
