  1. you and your car would have to have no mass in order to reach that speed. infinity mpg would be some pretty serious gas mileage though
  2. lint? keep your eyes in their sockets not in your pockets
  3. the traffic is now so insanely fast in front of my childhood home in West Seneca if I was a parent in our neighborhood today I'd be terrified of it. there's a little boy next door maybe 7 years old we see so rarely he reminds me of a young Boo Radley character from Mockingbird.
  4. it's extremely variable. anything in or near downtown is typically going to be expensive, presumably to take advantage of the tourist dollars. but just a little searching on leafly or weedmaps will yield many quality deals. competition seems to be keeping prices in check
  5. what makes you think this? it certainly wasn't the case for me here.
  6. for those who love cereal but are concerned about dairy intake, or just want to try something different I'd recommend giving almond milk a try. Yes it's essentially sugar cane water flavored with almonds (there is unsweetened version but it tastes like liquid cardboard to me) and it's pricey by comparison. I have grown to love it, and have essentially eliminated cow milk from my diet. hopefully gives the ole prostate a bit of a break, if those studies turn out to be legit
  7. outstanding accomplishment
  8. Honey Graham Oh's only cereal I've found where I don't have to rush through the bowl and it stays crunchy
  9. this one is my favorite
  10. I'm sure I'm not even close to the demographic that song is intended for, but I thought it was completely awful. Reminded me of that bumper sticker "It's not that I'm old, your music really does suck" And no one was more surprised than Jethro Tull, as evidenced by their ad in Rolling Stone.
  11. the 4014 big boy locomotive restoration (to running order) is nearly complete, and UP will be announcing the schedule shortly if you are into trains, you definitely owe it to yourself to check this thing out. it's a beast
  12. you might want to check this thread. my favorite so far is Bar Bills, but I have not come close to trying them all.
  13. Pretty sure you guys will understand this.. this was not in Buffalo of course Got a triple order of wings for takeout - received one small blue cheese Asked for 2 more, was told they are 50¢ each Said I ordered a triple order - should get 3 containers of BC Got flat out refused. Asked for manager - she was the manager. Countered her attitude with a blaze of obscenities as I stormed out the door and never went back Wings weren't good anyway, what a surprise (pro tip for Coloradans here: Sha-Wing Food Truck has the best wings in CO)
  14. something similar to the originial post happened on a recent episode of Finding Your Roots, which is a fascinating show if you are interested in this kind of thing
  15. The Longest Day should probably be on this list too
  16. I've never seen the show, but I keep hearing good things. Gonna have to check it out soon since it's on Netflix now. It's definitely not for everyone; the show is not fast paced and sometimes the funniest line is something Basil (Cleese) mumbles under his breath! But every line was painstakingly scrutinized and episodes often took weeks to write - their attention to detail is remarkable and in my opinion (and many others) genius.
  17. I listen to comedy radio on the way to/from work and Jim Gaffigan seems to be the guy I laugh at the most regularly. He's just got one of those voices that even when he's not saying a funny line I still laugh because of the way he delivers it. Kathleen Madigan is my favorite female comedienne.. (I typed that word naturally but had to look it up to make sure it was right) My friend works at the Comedy Works here in Denver and introduced me to her years ago. She definitely doesn't just do the typical female jokes. All time, definitely Carlin though. He made the mold and then broke it. I know every word of Occupation Foole but still laugh anyway. Kind of like how I will laugh throughout Fawlty Towers despite knowing every line and nuance (best comedy tv show of all time btw)
  18. I had Bar Bills over xmas break and they were simply fantastic. Nothing but clean bones on the table when we were done; not even leaving the little nibs of meat on the ends. So if they are even better at Gabriel's Gate then they must be spectacular! And if I don't have to stand *inside* a coat rack while waiting for a table like at BB's then that's another bonus.
  19. Yes - this is why I was so worried when we went through that whole draft tiebreakers thing with Denver So glad that didn't go to a coin flip!
  20. the article is 2 years old; there are more recent news articles suggesting the same but most include the same quotes I certainly wouldn't put it past him, but as far as I can tell there are no plans in the works
  21. I get really defensive about mashed potatoes too.. not sure I'd go to war over it but maybe..
  22. Just stumbled on something I didn't know.. the actress who played Tony's mom Livia (Nancy Marchand) was born and raised in Buffalo
  23. Never met Pack fans who didn't like to drink beers, talk X's and O's, play games, ice fish etc. I've had a lot of fun with them over the years
  24. It has to be posted: LOL those ice cubes..
