  1. glad to see someone realizes caffeine is a real drug with all the benefits, and consequences, therein.
  2. we built it, they didn't come. so I don't watch or follow baseball. I guess I am a little sympathetic towards the Rockies, but even if they won the World Series, I would not celebrate .001% as much as I would if the Bills or Sabres won a championship.
  3. love having the extra daylight at the end of my work shift. going for short hikes and meeting friends at brewpubs after work instead of the endless cycle of 'work, go home, eat, tv, sleep, work, go home eat tv sleep...'
  4. I wonder how many armchair wiki warriors bothered to read the section called "Philosophy".. you know the part where they talk about how Bill Cody was a staunch conservationist? who would have been appalled at the thought of the virtual extinction of the American Bison? and how he hated that the US Gov't broke treaty after treaty with the Indians whom he considered to be Real Americans? And how he insisted that his audiences witness the way they value culture and family - in an age when many if not most people dismissed them as "savages" ? Or publicly spoke in support of Women's Suffrage at a time it would have been difficult to do so? Missed that part did you? Or perhaps you just dismissed it because it doesn't fit with your crusade. Well by all means, carry on! He killed Buffalo he must be evil!! /triggered
  5. sure we can become the Buffalo Snowflakes
  6. My favorite is Acoustic Alchemy. I guarantee you have heard them in an elevator at some point! Odds are it was this song; the most recognizable section starts about 5 minutes in, so I'll queue this up after the intro: I got to see them in a small club a couple times, and they were absolutely fantastic. Probably not enough to excite any teenagers though - do they still even care about melody and musicianship? Yeah I know I'll take my certificate and be on my way...
  7. It wasn't good. Nothing else to really say.
  8. Personally I can't see how anyone could be in this for any other reason than to see that parade down Delaware Ave some day. It's why I can't fathom why any Bills fan could not be a Sabres fan as well. Whether it's the Lombardi or Lord Stanley it's going to be such a glorious release; I've fantasized about it and I'm pretty sure I'm not alone. Adopt other teams if you want, but you know this day is going to be for the die-hards who shed blood year after year and come back for more because it's in our DNA. This is the culture we celebrate at our Bills bar. We've been accused of cheering first downs like touchdowns and touchdowns like wins. Everyone wearing red white and blue is your cousin whether you know them or not!
  9. Green Chile changed my life. It is huge out West, with its origins in New Mexico. This is my ultimate hangover-beater Huevos Rancheros Warmed flour tortilla base Black beans mixed with 505 Green Chile 3 eggs on top (I prefer over-easy so the yolk dresses the plate) Cover with ungodly amount of shredded mexican style cheese, melted with toaster oven broiler Top with shredded lettuce, sour cream, guac if you like it (I don't), and Taco Bell Fire Sauce and/or Melindas Habanero Sauce Now that's how you get the day started after a rough night
  10. Since we broached into comedy, I have to throw Fawlty Towers into the mix. It's not for everyone; you kinda have to have that gene that makes you 'get' British comedies but it is Cleese's finest work. I know every single line and nuance and I still laugh my ass off. There were only 12 episodes but they absolutely nailed every single one.
  11. you and your car would have to have no mass in order to reach that speed. infinity mpg would be some pretty serious gas mileage though
  12. lint? keep your eyes in their sockets not in your pockets
  13. the traffic is now so insanely fast in front of my childhood home in West Seneca if I was a parent in our neighborhood today I'd be terrified of it. there's a little boy next door maybe 7 years old we see so rarely he reminds me of a young Boo Radley character from Mockingbird.
  14. it's extremely variable. anything in or near downtown is typically going to be expensive, presumably to take advantage of the tourist dollars. but just a little searching on leafly or weedmaps will yield many quality deals. competition seems to be keeping prices in check
  15. what makes you think this? it certainly wasn't the case for me here.
  16. for those who love cereal but are concerned about dairy intake, or just want to try something different I'd recommend giving almond milk a try. Yes it's essentially sugar cane water flavored with almonds (there is unsweetened version but it tastes like liquid cardboard to me) and it's pricey by comparison. I have grown to love it, and have essentially eliminated cow milk from my diet. hopefully gives the ole prostate a bit of a break, if those studies turn out to be legit
  17. outstanding accomplishment
  18. Honey Graham Oh's only cereal I've found where I don't have to rush through the bowl and it stays crunchy
  19. this one is my favorite
  20. I'm sure I'm not even close to the demographic that song is intended for, but I thought it was completely awful. Reminded me of that bumper sticker "It's not that I'm old, your music really does suck" And no one was more surprised than Jethro Tull, as evidenced by their ad in Rolling Stone.
  21. the 4014 big boy locomotive restoration (to running order) is nearly complete, and UP will be announcing the schedule shortly if you are into trains, you definitely owe it to yourself to check this thing out. it's a beast
  22. you might want to check this thread. my favorite so far is Bar Bills, but I have not come close to trying them all.
