Wildfire threat has squashed all fireworks here including these and even bang-snaps. Sadly, personal fireworks are only a distant childhood memory for me.

Favorite old time comedy act?
coloradobillsfan replied to RochesterRob's topic in Off the Wall Archives
big Laurel and Hardy fan here. Loved them on Sunday Morning Funnies as a kid in the 80s, and they still make me laugh when I watch the clips on youtube today. It's all about the timing in comedy.. and nobody understood that more than the comic genius who was Stan Laurel who both wrote and directed many of their best skits and films. -
To each their own, but I would rather pay a more reasonable $5 per beer and have the option of paying the extra $1-3 based on the service received rather than having it built in.
-
this was a point my friend from England made too, but it seemed to me like the tip may have been 'built in' by the inflated prices, ie. pints of beer were commonly £5 which came to over $8 at the time of my visit to the UK

But you had to have the BIG SALAD!

Out here they actually put squeeze bottles of honey on the tables for the outer crust, to give you an idea of how bad it is

Did anyone ever cheat in school?

scantrons were like an open invitation.. do they still use those? for some reason in our college lecture halls they sat us every-other-seat for tests, providing a perfect diagonal view to at least 2 other students papers in the row ahead. between that and mastering using a baseball cap brim to conceal my wandering eyes and.. yeah.. well I learned a lot more outside of the classrooms in college than in them (especially in the dorms) -

Best BBQ in the Buffalo Area?
coloradobillsfan replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I think it all depends on the level you have been spoiled at. I lived in KC for a year, and yeah - I just went and bought my own smoker and learned how to do it myself (Denver BBQ is not great either) -
In this case the cop's partner was 1000% right. They are trying to corral 70,000+ hooligans, you simply do not touch them under any circumstances period.

Shady may have sent out spoilers for Avengers
coloradobillsfan replied to Dr Doom's topic in Off the Wall Archives
My guess is that he intentionally misspelled it to circumvent the word filters people set on twitter to avoid seeing spoilers. He really went out of his way to ruin this for a lot of people. -
I really wish the Simpsons would go away. It pains me to say that because it used to be my all-time favorite show. But I have barely watched it in the last 10-15 years, and the few times I have I maybe chuckle once or twice per episode. Such a far cry from the sidesplitting belly laughs in the 90's when the show would almost literally stop my entire college in its tracks when it came on tv. I thought it would be okay if it wrapped up neatly with a 25th season, but apparently they are hell bent on riding the bell cow straight into the ground, and to me this is a travesty to one of the greatest animated shows of all time. /rant

How many miles currently are on your car?
coloradobillsfan replied to Another Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
11 year old car with 71k. Worked from home for years saving a lot of miles. I always drive my cars into the ground - can't stand the buying/selling process.. -
I'm worried about the age thing. I mean this is a top 10 pick, assuming no trade-down. I don't know if that's worth it for a guy who will be 24 by the end of this year. If I have to pick 1, I'd say Oliver. But either of the top 2 OT's would be fine, and I've warmed up to Hock so I'd be ok with this too
