had Josh gotten hurt for real in that first Baltimore game it would’ve ended the season not having a guy that could stress defenses outside or deep definitely elevates that risk… adding that guy reduces impacts in Josh and makes us a tougher matchup. Offense will start week one slightly better year over year defense still needs a CB… reason to believe safety is slightly better with potential upside linebacker is flat but healthy DT flat to slight upgrade DE upgraded but not sure how much or if enough long story short- add a cb, draft BPA and we on paper should be better

I agree that there’s something still but at a bit of a loss for how to slot up that piece reasonably it’s generally an expensive skill set but you can’t add another guy making starter money. So either a bit of a washed vet (mecole, Mike williams… is this the last team for Brandin cooks to sign with?!?). Westbrook ikhine was probably close to that archetype today but treads towards just keeping hollins at that point? or like a 3rd rounder that can be in very precise packages?

and what did they contribute their first year? im comfortable saying that most guys at elite positions that are in the 3rd wave off the board are usually project to get to their ceilings or have lower ceilings- not as often they come in as a game breaker year 1

we probably aren’t reshaping our pass rush at 30 - while we likely add some pieces on the draft, I’m not holding breathe on a game changer right from day 1
