  1. restructure a few guys, and cut a couple others. if you can send taysom to Houston in the package it’d be a huge win. Brees could officially retire after June 1 also as a zero impact to the roster but big cap swing option
  2. they don’t even have to convert 50% to come out ahead going for it. You have to take the shot. You aren’t winning with fgs there so I’d rather lose not converting touchdowns
  3. russ Brandon really ruined some of you by selling the cash to cap structure. it’s not the overwhelming structure here nor is it particularly viable. The only way you are getting low bonus, and low guaranteed salary guys is if you are getting either bad or high risk players.
  4. signing bonus will amortize evenly across the first 5 years of any deal. the rest would depend greatly on the contracts themselves. For instance josh could rip up the rest and start fresh, or simply add years. Where they add the money would effect the cap hits. If he had a signing bonus, obviously would be the case, that gets amortized
  5. it wasn’t a statement of confidence as if “we don’t even need this tool”
  6. I thought he clearly acknowledged that aggressive move in September followed by consistent safe ones in the afccg sends the message about which guy he is in his heart of hearts still. We will see if it was a lesson learned.
  7. if the chiefs get 5 or so years in championship games, a hard rest for 2-3 years at .500 and then wrap with about 5 or so more of super bowl contention we’d all sign up for that for our team
  8. im half convinced he beat up his off shoulder last week so they avoided called runs like we saw in the wild card. Still a lot of improv or plays where he was allowed to, but no designed power runs. It was a drastic difference after that big hit where he stayed down last week. Could be a coincidence though.
  9. Yup. Clustered injuries are tough to manage. A WR2 at 70% vs the WR6 is a lose lose that you try to muscle through. Especially as a passing team that is also nicked up in the already weaker running game.
  10. I was surprised on a few key “and 3” plays we didn’t power run with Josh honestly. 2nd and 3 in the red zone? At least 1 of the next 3 plays should’ve been him taking a shot (unless that off shoulder was actually hurt last week)
  11. passed well and created turnovers this season. That goes a long way in this league. there was a reason though that I was banging a drum for another splurge in the front 7, or playmaker with the ball. we were close and this might’ve been our easiest shot. on the bright side I think much like looking overwhelmed by the playoffs last year, they came back battle tested this year... I hope next year they will be more ready for the level of intensity in championship games. The chiefs are a little more talented but seemed a lot more intense. That poyer quote about being ready for anything because they’ve been there? They looked like they had not been here. I think they learn from it but we will see.
  12. we were good at all levels, dominant at none. Needed another impact player in the front 7.
  13. it should have been a better game but hard to argue here.
  14. Yea- even if not a formal offer it sounds like compensation was being discussed
  15. I look at it like the Hail Mary - you don’t want to be 100% predictable but pressure is your friend, and if you don’t have to defend the first 5-10 yards underneath you can still have great coverage while firing a bullet at the qb i don’t blitz 100% there but overloading a spot on the line would be my tactic more often then not
  16. meh. It’d be irresponsible not to have on the radar but it’s a bit obtuse to publicly comment. I’d assume buffalo is starting some degree of contingency planning too.
  17. we are playing top teams. Many of these games will be near coin flips. No shame in that. He’s taking his best shot, not trying to be a purist bills fan
  18. he went back out to play with his kids on the field for a loooong time. It was the end.
  19. he’s got to pass protocol which is a series of tests vs the measured baseline, no?
  20. That’s probably a bit much
  21. I suspect that we run a lot more. But I suspect it’s josh is beat up not just adjusting for the wind. I bet few to no designed runs for josh... We will see.
  22. Stayed down a long time too. very worried about that hit. We saw him muscle through an injury earlier this year and not look like himself.
  23. yup. Not sure why he’s out there if he can’t run?
  24. I’m more worried about that hit he took than adjustments. Hopefully they have him prepped to make it the 2nd half effectively
