  1. Definitely coming at this one from a non-confrontational angle and genuinely curious (and not sure the right way to approach broaching the subject) it feels like the decision to let PPP be more or less unmoderated is possibly running its course as society evolves. We are at a crossroads where politics is interweaving more and more of our every day discussions and there are plenty of folks here i would love to discuss this topic with, but have no desire to go subject myself to PPP. i know the hands off policy was created quite some time back and curious about the prospect of its revisiting through the years. that we have a cornerstone major American news story that can’t be discussed on the any topic goes board that is moderated and civil because it’s political but the political board means you have to subject yourself to abuses is disappointing.
  2. I’ll add “cap hell” isn’t terribly hellacious. Look at our own experience breaking the drought while in it
  3. only thing I would really underscore for a guy like D2D is it’s an overarching philosophy to win in the window. it’s not push the chips in for a single year and buy a ring Any given single season you have to hope you get lucky. If you push hard over several years you are more likely to get the breaks needed one of those seasons, maybe more. whether you get the ring the 1st or 3rd year of that window the eventual re-tooling is going to come when it’s time to pay the qb and move on from some of that overindexed talent you bought. right now I’d rather push everything on the table and hopefully re tool around a franchise qb in a few years. Eagles fans will tell their kids where they were in 2017 and barely have 2021 register. I’d be 100% down for that as our next 3-4 years.
  4. Yea and the poor bastards only got a super bowl parade out of it all. really underscores that the Sammy-woods-Goodwin-hogan group while not the greatest ever were a pretty viable collection. Really a shame that we didn’t get more out of that era. Rex messing up the defense and being a clown wasted some opportunities
  5. I’m not betting he’s there super long term. and other coaches have made a career of it.
  6. his name alone puts him ahead of 90% of the coaches in recruiting and by jumping straight to head coach he doesn’t have to develop or prove any scheme. He can simply be a motivator and close signings unlike your average obscure name at that level
  7. calling him #2 in the league with some critique like that is akin to discussion that Brady is one of the all time greats but benefits from scheme. it doesn’t mean he’s Trent dilfer. It means compared to the elite of the elite if you are splitting hairs here are a few differentiations. id say it’s fair to characterize him as incredibly technically sound compared to the others but not the guy you point to as the greatest athlete and major free lancer in that very elite group.
  8. most are under 70% most weeks. josh will be under 70% most weeks. he played a solid well schemed game against a lesser opponent. He did what he was supposed to do and did it very well. If he hits that standard (handling his business, not 70%) we will be in great shape.
  9. I feel like this might be a Kelly the dog alter I think your posts should be nit picked at that level
  10. if the bills are 4-0 coming out of Vegas and josh is playing high level (say close to 300 a game, about 10 tds, a couple splashy highlight plays) he will creep into the “is this the turning point” talk and all eyes will be on him full time. No doubt. And the media would love to embrace him as he’s a fun charismatic guy with big talent.
  11. I’ll sidestep 400 specifically and just call it “has another great game” it’d be encouraging but beating up a bad team with the roster around him is the expectation. you have to meet the expectation a lot to get Major credit. He’s taken some steps. A great game against Miami would be fantastic but it wouldn’t be proof he has arrived as our savior.
  12. So if it were just a tiny number that’d be one thing. And if the ones not doing it were fast to fill out reports on the ones causing issues it’d also go a long way. I get it- most are good. Many are great. Plenty are inconsistent at best and enforcing laws/policies that aren’t perfect. Few are actively monsters. But to pretend the issue is a matter of “you just got the very rare bad experience” ends up sounding condescending
  13. we have seen time and time again that the media enjoys a good bills team.
  14. I tend not to push the chips in til these guys do it with the diminished roster around a franchise qb pay check but he’s checking a lot of boxes most weeks. Still would like to see some more pure qb games against top defenses but he’s earned not to be nit picked these days
  15. yea, that Lamar has earned more leash isn’t exactly breaking news to most. I’ve been a Lamar skeptic but the dude is still consistently doing it
  16. do we not have positional and topic sub forums yet? Like he could use the bears wr trade or bears wr contract dispute forum maybe.
  17. having a good screen and play action game mixed in will go far in keeping defenses honest. then roll in he could throw 70 yards down field and pretty much side line to sideline or run up the middle... it’s hard to cover that much grass and not be able to cheat on anything
  18. you mean the same ones the questioned Lamar coming out too? If Josh puts up an MVP season they will treat him like favre and not nit pick everything. As is, he hasn’t proven them wrong yet, as much as we all think he’s taking the first steps in doing so.
  19. I mean, it’s a thread about how people are reacting to the plays and you are having a reaction. ironically it’s nearly the only thread where you could kind of accidentally make yourself the topic and it be relevant content to discuss
  20. I mean, we are discussing why a blooper in a regionally televised week 1 blow out win is getting less attention than a blooper in a nationally televised playoff game that was lost. i wasn’t trying to comment on either player. just that it’s wildly different context and audiences.
  21. that and one was a nationally televised playoff game in the middle of a melt down.
  22. certainly would be. but even confident there a qb in the back half of the round is less than 50-50. if I were Green Bay I would’ve doubled down on win now... but if love is the guy for 15 years, they will get plenty of shots to win out of it.
  23. It’s like you almost understood my point.
  24. It’s such a tough topic to transition from. Like what are you supposed to do? Change the topic back to the game?
  25. seems he’s bringing his politics to the event
