  1. Beans strategy is continual Dolphins level team and hope we catch a hot streak. You can have this front 7 and win a SB. how many games did Groot play in and had an impact last year? Less than 7 the Rams have also had I think the most overall draft pocks in that time, just in lower rounds. So they have high paid proven stars, avoid an Edmunds conundrum, and go to two SB’s in that span.
  2. or DC
  3. like this guys toughness! yeah, if he is there, we need to get him. He's got everything. Speed, route running, ball awareness, hands, punt returning, vision.
  4. the thing I don't get about all of this, is that Kamara seemed like a good dude, and then this happens. Pro athletes need to surround themselves with better people. Do teams have people to go with these guys to events in cities like Vegas to keep them out of trouble??
  5. WOW. You're not kidding. I'll take OBJ (but he's nuts, well, so was Diggs, allegedly), and the best reasonably priced slot WR. But I"d only focus on WR FA's after getting a stud front 7 guy. Lots of good WRs in the draft also.
  6. my guys is Chandler Jones. Clowney would be okay if the money is right, but not a lot of production out of him so far. fill holes by trading picks or in FA. Then BPA. Impact day 1 players/starters from the draft if we have Rd. 1 and 2 picks. That's all. That said, I think those players are likely to be at one of several positions: C (if Linderblum (sp) falls); CB (lots of talented CBs coming out, need the right one who can press a WR and has speed; WR--class is also deep. Safety: we have to aging/expensive safeties, are there any guys who would fit that mold in the 2nd round (haven't seen many mocked later in the first).
  7. solid point. i wonder what his baseball guarantee $ would be if he went there.
  8. what culture that Alvin belongs to promotes throat tattoos? Can't think of any. Good points. It does depend on the DA. If the DA want's to go after Alvin, he can subpoena the victim. At this point, it's "the state" v. Alvin, not the victim. And the victim has to cooperate if summoned. BTW, is this video in the public domain anywhere? All I can find are recaps.
  9. this is what I don't understand. Frazier is at best, an average DC. NO ONE wants him for HC. Why are we keeping him? The 13 seconds of non-adjustments and bend and don't break D was exactly how the team played all year. Yeah, we rocked it against poor QBs. Against good QBs, nope.
  10. I'd disagree with your grading of some of these picks, and my comments were limited to the last 2 drafts, when we are in "win-now" mode. For those drafts: Epenesa: not too early to know. He's a 2nd round pick. That guy should be showing by now. Rousseau: I'm okay with this pick, although DT Barmore would have been a better pick given our need at DT. Basham: Really hate this pick. This looks like Bean couldn't decide if either guy would pan out, so he took 2 DE's. Meanwhile, needing help on the OL, he passes on the best interior OL prospect in the draft in Creed Humphrey, who is an instant impact player that would have helped the OL (and also our cap space this year). I favor trading a pick for a player like Diggs if that's available. Rookies, unless you really hit on the pick, could take too long, if ever, to develop. We need a front 7 presence while our secondary is still playing well (Poyer and Hyde both on the wrong side of 30 and expensive).
  11. wow, if that's how it started. oh my. Yikes, add lying to the police on top of his charges. "Kamara told police that he was with his girlfriend, his assistant and a couple of friends. Kamara said the man called one of his friends ugly while they were waiting for the elevator and then later said, "I'll whup your ass too." Kamara said he saw a fight break out next to him and saw the man get punched. When asked why he punched the man, Kamara indicated that he thought the man was running away and had done something to his group -- so he chased him and punched him several times." Also, the story Kamara told, beyond not being backed up by the video, is absurd.
  12. I"m hoping some of the draft picks of past years and this year can fill the holes. Bean goes more with your approach, IMO. We'll see. Should be interesting....offseason always is. I think sporttrack has Jones at 14.5, have hope I would LOVE if Linderbaum falls to 25. And a CB falls to the 2nd.
  13. like the QB flipping, would also like a vet backup who can win us a few games if Allen is out.
  14. No reason for cutting Beasley twice other than a typo. II see your point with Jones and the cap. Personally 'd rather have have one impact guy like Jones than a bunch of average-ish players.
  15. fair point. I wasn't going to have him in my cut initially, but then did for money reasons. I'm thinking a draft pick, Ford, Bottenger. But I'd keep him unless the coaches are solid on a replacement.
  16. you are correct, we do need to plan for the post Poyer/Hyde days. Also hard to be paying them both. Not sure what Poyer fetches as a trade, and I think him and Hyde were the only 2 consistent D players all year (with White, until he was injured). Great writeup on Wallace. He is better than most think, and unfortunately will likely be gone unless we can somehow backload a contract for him expecting the cap to rise in coming years. I hate the idea that he leaves, because that forces us to get one in FA we may not like as much or draft one. I don't like having obvious holes.
  17. I agree with this. Getting a 2nd for Edmunds if he won't take under 10 a year, playing Klien, and getting a guy like C. Jones in FA to help the pass rush would make the D better. You'd also gain a 2nd rounder, so you can come out of the draft with hopefully (a big reach given Bean's last drafts) an impact CB, LB, and OL.
  18. Interesting list: Replaceable: Feliciano. Line played better without him. Cap savings even with the dead cap hit is worth it. Perhaps: Mores: if only we had Creed Humphry, that would replace Morse. If Linderbaum (C-Iowa) drops the Bills may be tempted to move on from Morse or restructure. Beasley: Might find another WR in FA for less. Klien; I'd love to keep this guy, I think he is better than Edmunds, but he may be too expensive for a backup. Not going anywhere: Hyde and Poyer, really the only 2 reliable guys on the D last year. Conclusion: cutting Williams, Beasley, Feliciano, and Beasley give something like 15 in space. I would use that for Chandler Jones and a WR, or Gronk.
  19. if Murray is gone, this should increase the odds that Kirk will not want to come back, and hopefully comes to Buffalo. Perhaps RB Edmunds also if available.
  20. always had good D's as I recall?
  21. will be interesting to see if he can get Ford to turn into anything. Excited to see him work with Spenser Brown!
  22. like it!! Shore up the run game. Wonder what back we bring in either in draft (likely) or FA.
  23. true, but might not get another option, and hopefully gets a bit of a leash here given the dearth of talent. Will need a great OC.
  24. technical expertise after a history degree from Yale? Seems like a stretch. Any other FB background prior to 2005? At any rate, odd hire. Although he did get a lot out of Jimmy G.
  25. Agreed. I’m fine with him using his hammer ability for a yard when needed, but he should generally slide. Brady played till 44 because he slid. Josh can still gain a ton of yards, move around in the pocket lime Rodgers, and throw a great ball without needing to bash ppl all over running.
