  1. The Bills game plan against KC in the regular season in 2021 (and a lot of other teams had some defensive success doing this in 2021) was to play two high safeties to take away Hill and the deep ball and then jam Kelce at the line and beat him up with double teams and basically let the other KC players beat you. It worked because Kelce would get beat up and worn down as the game went on and the soft high zone would limit the big plays from Hill and the rest of the WR corps were pretty pedestrian so taking chances in zone single coverage against pedestrian receivers and a weak running game was doable. This year KC doesn't have Hill which is a huge loss but they are a bit more balanced on offense in terms of their secondary weapons (although Lazard, Juju and Sky Moore aren't really that impressive but not tragic). However, I think the key is to just jam and double Kelce and beat him up. Let him get his in the first half but make him pay for it and work for it and wear him down. Then play your standard zone defense and drop 5 against the rest of KC's receiving corp. The Bills are better equipped to go up against KC's very good O-line and get pressure with the front 4 and hold the point of attack against the run. But Hill not being there will hopefully make KC's offense less dynamic and easier to game plan against. Right now the early returns in the AFC week 1 are that the Bills and KC are headed for another playoff matchup with Baltimore and the Chargers being the tough outs. Still plenty ways to go as I am not ruling out Cincy and several other AFC teams that got off to a slow start week one. But right now it's hard not to see KC and Buffalo as destined to meet up again.
  2. I think Atlanta will have a lot of “moral victories” this season. Their Oline is competent and Drake, Pitts and Patterson are a good set of weapons and Mariota will add value with his legs. But while their offense may be able to put up points their defense is going to let them down a lot but I can see them losing a lot of one possession games because their offense can score.
  3. I don't know why this board is obsessed with moving Edumonds around. Edumonds may not be the strongest in run defense but he is pretty dam good in coverage for a team that values more coverage in the scheme from linebackers.
  4. I have to think the coaching staff will either not call RPO's or tell Josh he needs to not take risks running the ball during the regular season. Hopefully Josh gets the message.
  5. The half bye is a nice bonus to get the team 100% healthy for a very physical Titans team.
  6. Dorsey called a strong game, too many designed QB runs but other that nippick not much to complain about. I would say he is better than Daboll just yet but I wouldn’t be shocked if in 2 months most people are saying that.
  7. The Bills in week one are who we thought they were against one of the best teams in the NFC (the defending champs none the less) on the road. The Bills didn't even play that great of a game particularly in the first half and came away with a 3 possession lead. My biggest take away was how dominant the D-line and O-line were. The O-line had some trouble with Donald but that's to be expected he is the best defensive player of his era. But the O-line paved the way for a solid running game and protected Josh fairly well in the face of a dominant defender in Donald. The D-line had 7 sacks against a fairly good O-line and were so huge up the middle. Great game the Bills lived up to the hype but the season has 16 games left and the Titans are a real test next Monday. Really looking forward to how Settle, Jones and Phillips look against King Henry.
  8. With past coaching staffs I would assume incompetence but with McD and his staff I think that there is some sort of reasoning as to why Shakir is inactive.
  9. There is no reason to assume the Bills beat Cincy. Yes I think there was a good chance the Bills beat Cincy but you can’t just assume the Bills would have won. Burn it and go for it in 2022
  10. While McBeane isn’t afraid to play rookies they also are very aware of how to properly develop players and how to our players in the best situations. I think Cook is a third down back role player this year. It just makes sense for his development to see if he can handle a smaller role as a situational player before throwing him into the deep end.
  11. I feel bad for the Jets here, not getting to see your young QB due to injury is a bad fate.
  12. There won’t be any big deal unless he can prove he is anywhere close to the player he was when last seen with the Rams. He kind of has to prove it either at the tail end of 2022 or in 2023. But no big multi year deal is on the table for him unless he shows what he can do again.
  13. I would like to see a Baldy breakdown or someone else more reputable take before I believe that Josh is routinely fooled
  14. I have to imagine he got some low ball offers given that the state of O-line play in the NFL is what it is. But he likely wants more money than is on the market for him. I think he is waiting for a team to get desperate via O-line injuries to secure a better offer.
  15. I think he needs a deep playoff run in the remaining years he has as a head coach. But this season if he just gets to the playoffs I think he quells the narrative for another season. But yes eventually he has to at least make a conference championship without Brady to really at least point to something of significance without Brady. A few one and done playoff appearances aren't going to be enough.
  16. To play devils advocate the Pats did go 10-5 without Brady in 2008, they were 3-1 without Brady the year he got suspended deflategate. And last year they were 10-7 with a rookie QB. So it isn’t like Billy B hasn’t had some success without Brady. That being said I think this season is going to be the measuring stick. Not that the Pats have to win it all but getting another playoff birth is huge to help dispel the Brady was the driver of success narrative. If the Pats go under .500 and miss the playoffs that narrative only strengthens.
  17. Wasn’t Mario Addison starting for the Texans or I am completely misremembering?
  18. Honestly after a down year in 2020 Peters was decent for the Bears in 2021, the Cowboys probably got one of the better options on the market.
  19. The rule in the NFL is that a receiver is usually the one who wins in a tie and the call was hardly a tie. Either way it evened out.
  20. Very interested in seeing how the Oline holds up against Donald and how the Dline holds up against the run. Going to get a good temperature check against the defending champions. I am also interested to see if Jordan Phillips can get some sacks and pressures.
  21. That’s my read on it, at least the team feels that from what they know at the moment they feel he is innocent but this is a completely fluid situation so who knows how that will change as more information becomes available.
