  1. Shakir looked lost when pushed into action in the Titans game when Davis was hurt. But he has settled down and has shown he can be a factor in the passing attack.
  2. It is windy and there was at least two drops, I think Josh is doing just fine.
  3. Not much to complain about in the first half. The best sign (among many good ones) is how good Davis has looked. He looked like the player we all know and expect him to be!
  4. What a turd of a game
  5. To be fair the Lions had a lot of garbage time scores…
  6. I thought Hamlin was solid but it is hard to tell how good a player plays in coverage on many plays because of camera angles. That being said a C+ in all 22 is a fairly average game so that grade being in the bottom 5 mainly speaks to how very few players had subpar games.
  7. Wasn’t even that close Singletary had the ball move a bit and then gathered it close to himself.
  8. If the Bills can weather the injury storm the trade deadline priority should be Oline help. You are in win now mode go for some help in what might be your weakest unit.
  9. The Bills O-line is a far bigger issue than the running back. Moss should be benched but I think if given better blocking esp at the guard positions then Cook and Singletary are solid NFL backs. Both can catch the ball and are solid runners in my opinion. But if the O-line isn't addressed then the Bills can have Barkley back there and it won't make a huge difference. If the Bills are going to be in the market for a trade it is likely going to be for some help on a banged up defense or at the guard position.
  10. I think the roughing call was a bit soft at worst and borderline at best. It is a call refs make in the game so it isn't like it was a complete gift but the Bills got the benefit of a borderline call. The Bills got bad luck with calls last week and got a good call this week. It tends to even out
  11. The injury bug continues to hit this team. Poyer looked to be shaken up and Crowder and Mac left the game. Hoping Poyer is OK and Mac likely with a concussion can clear protocol. Not sure what Crowder's injury is but I think he might miss sometime. At least no other players had any significant injuries.
  12. Huge win, the Bills did get a little help from the refs but after the lack of calls last week things tend to even out. This looked like it was going to be an ugly 3-4 possession loss and the defense really is majorly responsible for the win but the offense had a great end to the first half and came out swinging to get the game tied and even despite some stalling in the 4th quarter they got the clutch drive.
  13. DaQuan is that big run stuffer that Star was supposed to be.
  14. I agree to an extent but if the team did anything to shy away from an evaluation by the independent neurologist then that warrants a fine and an adjustment of the policy possibly.
  15. The Fins will get a big fine and internal practices will be adjusted but I can't see much more than that sadly.
  16. The Bills running back trio is averaging 4.4 yards per carry which is pretty respectable at face value. I think however the running game lacks consistency. Rushing stats by the combo of Moss, Singletary and Cook are kind of inflated by various factors. Moss had that big run against Miami which has inflated his total he hasn't done too much outside of that. Cook got a lot or all of his best yards in garbage time against the Titans backups and Singletary had a good rushing game against the Rams but has not done much on the ground since. That's not a lot of consistent production. Now I will grant this that the Bills O-line was massively banged up against the Dolphins which put the running game DOA however if the Bills can get back their starting five and get more chemistry in the new scheme I think there is a chance the ground game can be better. As far as Josh's component I think as fans there is very little you can tell about what the play call is and how a QB should adjust against a given front/defense. Hopefully if there is a component that Josh can be better on we all know Josh will work on it and get things in gear by the time the playoffs roll around. My main concern is getting the O-line healthy and playing cohesively.
  17. The Bills defense forced Miami to punt 5 times out of 8 drives and gave up two long TD drives and another TD on a turnover inside the 10. Considering that the Bills were out 5-6 starters on defense along with additional role/depth players I consider that to be a decent day. If you exclude the drive that started inside the 10 on an offensive turnover the Bills held Miami to 5 punts on 7 drives or about a 29% TD give-up rate by the defense. The league average of drives that end in TD's is about 26% however the percentage of drives that end in a score (field goal or TD) is 41%. So you can parse it out any which way but I would say the defense delivered an average outcome against an offense that is most likely an above-average NFL offense. Add in the circumstances and it is much more impressive. You can lawyer the numbers any way you want but to the eye test, the defense played well enough to win. Had the offense not turned the ball over deep in their own territory the game could have easily been a 17 or less point affair by the defense. As far as Johnson I think he was subpar but he is being integrated into the defense with players he never played with consistently before. I think if you get Poyer next to him and settle him down with more snaps things will be fine for him long term even if there are some sort term growing pains.
  18. Has 20 starts under his belt. Graded out best in 2019 when he played 844 snaps and only allowed 4 sacks and 3 penalties. Had a solid start to the 2020 season not allowing a sack on 602 snaps and only 1 penalty. But got hurt to end the 2020 season and got hurt again in 2021. PFF (which is not the best metric) graded him as follows. 2019- 62.9 2020- 56.7 2021- 60.8 Considering that we are at week 4 getting a player that was somewhat effective with 20 starts under his belt is about as good as you will be able to do. The reason he is available despite decent play and experience is due to injuries. He got hurt to end the 2020 season and again early in 2021. Hopefully with a few extra weeks rest his body is ready to go.
  19. Elam is a stud he will be a star in the secondary for years to come.
  20. No need to panic just yet but I certainly think if the injury concerns mount then McBeane might come in and bring in some help via trade. But I just don’t see that point yet.
  21. At some point you will reach an Andy Reid (in Philadelphia) tipping point where you have a coach getting a team to the playoffs consistently and making runs but never getting over the hump and there comes a point where the team has to move on from a successful coach. That being said I don’t think McD is anywhere near that point. Maybe if the Bills take losses in the playoffs in 2022 and 2023 you can start that question but it is far too soon. It’s a week 3 loss away with a banged up team nothing to panic over.
  22. I don’t think there will be any major outside moves made I think given Johnson has been in the system for 4 years and was drafted by this team and has played well in spot duty I think they will be fine with him there. Now that’s not to say that I can’t see McBeane bringing in defensive reinforcements via trade down the line but I think they like what they have in Johnson.
  23. To my eye it didn’t seem like Saffold was bad. I thought he was OK, Van Rotten was pretty bad in my opinion so shocked to see a more detailed analysis showing Van Rotten graded out better. No shock on Shakir, Keenum and Brewer in the bottom 5 though.
  24. Most likely not playing against the Fins bummer but this is a marathon not a sprint and Hyde missing a week or two is better than him having a long term injury.
