  1. Hyde, Poyer and Hauschka were not signed by Beane. So that's a little problematic.
  2. How do you know that Hyde, Poyer and Gaines were McD's guys? They never played for him. Neither did Jordan Matthews.
  3. Or they could have drafted Mahomes last season without trading a thing... just saying.
  4. I'm going to give some of the credit for last season to the name which must not be spoken on TBD: Whaley. He and his team identified, scouted and evaluated all those FAs. I'm sure McDermott made the final calls but don't underestimate the value that Whaley provided to finding good FAs; something that he's always been very good at.
  5. And ideally make a tackle once in a while. He has zero so far this season.
  6. The impact of trading Dareus and signing Lotulelei to replace him on their salary cap has been tremendous. Well, at least he didn't quit at halftime.
  7. The problem with this opinion is that the team created their own cap problem by cutting guys that were under contract. And any optimism we might feel by having some cap space available next season is tempered by seeing the way they spent their FA money this season: Murphy, Lotulelei, Davis, McCarron, Ivory, Coleman, etc.
  8. I guess, if you count a 2020 7th round pick. And how that turned out won't encourage other teams. But you're right, maybe Cleveland can get something similar. Like a case of beer.
  9. This sounds like BS. Does Schefter have a relationship with his agent or something? If he was high and the Browns don't want him after all they've invested in giving him one last shot, how could other teams possibly justify the risk of giving up draft picks? What kind of message would that send to their locker room?
  10. This website is gold.
  11. Stripping the team of most of their talent and bringing in a crop of useless free agents IS a bad start, IMO. That’s my concern. Hopefully drafting Allen will bail him out but he hasn’t done much to help the rookie out. He couldn’t find a mentor or transitional QB, he has a crap OL to protect him and no WR to throw to.
  12. I agree with giving McDermott some slack. He proved a few things last season, IMO. But I think you’re giving Beane unwarranted credit compared to Whaley and Nix. So far, he hasn’t shown himself to be any better than them. His free agen class has totally stunk and his major accomplishment so far has been dumping decent players for mid to low round draft picks so that the current team is virtually devoid of talent. As I’ve said many times, the goal is to turn draft picks into good players, not to opposite.
  13. The biggest disaster is that they signed three of those guys with the idea that they would be immediate starters and upgrades: Murphy, Lotulelei and Davis. Murphy and Davis have been total flops so far and Lotulelei and been average. They will have to do much, much better next season for this thing to get off the ground.
  14. At this point we can only hope that they’re at Jauron era talent levels. I thinks it’s probably lower than that.
  15. Not his entire staff either, IMO. Him and his brother were the primary problems. His offensive coaches and many of his position coaches were solid.
  16. Not sure how it could have been a mistake to let him go given how good the current offensive line is. How could he help?
  17. McCarron stunk. The real crime was bringing him in in the first place when other teams were signing better, more established veterans.
  18. We're saved!
  19. If they were going to cut Peterman then they would have signed a vet and cut him. Nothing to do with Washington. Cutting Washington means that something else is going on. Either sign a DT as a one for one swap or bring in a QB and keep 3 on the roster including Peterman.
