They were supposedly friends, or at least presented themselves as such, when he was here in Charlotte. That's what makes this whole thing so bizzarre to me. It really does make Benjamin look bad, IMO.
I know, but that punt return where he caught the ball in the middle of the field and then ran sideways directly to the sidelines wasn't exactly impressive. Cadet and especially Jones have been more effective in special team so far, IMO.
I's add Harrison to the "Good Night" list and Washington to the "Bad Night" one. Harrison really looks like he's going to be a player while Washington is getting bulldozed whenever he is out there.
Why did he report this before doing some basic checking into the report? He didn't even try to talk with Coleman until after he posted. He hears a rumor, posts it like it's a fact, and then checks to see if it's true afterwards. Terrible.
Most of the Browns fans posts were basically “good riddance” and speculating that Beane did Dorsey a favor by taking his salary off the books. After reading the Cleveland message boards I almost wish he’d fail his physical so the trade is voided.
That 1970s offense was the best the Bills have had in 10+ years, since Mike Mularkey was coach. And that was with Taylor at QB. Imagine if they had a guy like Russell Wilson who can run AND pass.
I agree. Unfortunately there’s no way to know these things at this time. We don’t know what Brandon thinks of his firing because he refuses to comment and we don’t know what position he was hired for at New Era.
It’s a company that he has a relationship with and that he could probably help from a marketing standpoint. It’s a step down in terms of leadership responsibility. Should he have applied at Starbucks?
The risk from his behavior is New Era’s call. One that they’re being pressured to reverse.
Something tells me that a primadonna WR with a massive contract playing for a team with no established QB is not exactly what Beane, McDermott or Jones would be looking for.
Woodstrock
NFL teams platoon at every position except QB and kicker. I get kicker but it seems strange that no one has really tried it at QB.
I don’t think it’s because it wouldn’t work. I think the real reason is financial and personal. If you have two good QBs there’s no way you could keep them together so it’s not stable as a concept. One or both would want out so that they could be the undisputed starter for another team and there’s no way you could pay two good QBs and have any money left for the rest of the team.
