Coaches are heavily implying that Coleman isn’t trying on the field
dpberr replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's partly him (he looks like he absolutely hates to do any blocking) but I also don't think the Bills use his skills properly. He's not a WR1. He's more of a slot or TE. He's not beating CB1 coverage, but he can beat other coverages. It's not Coleman's problem that the Bills WR room is all slot and gadget receivers. He'd be good at the "Travis Kelce, just run around out there" route. -
Mecole Hardman, Come on Down! (Signed to Practice Squad)
BuffaloBillyG replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a valid question. Will he even make the roster and see playtime is another valid one. This could be a good move that helps elevate our WR core...or it could be the WR version of when we signed Leonard Fournette to the practice squad. Time will tell -
this is all that is needed. we ran into a stacked box and created absolutely no offense to get the dolphins out of it despite them using a #3CB, a #4CB, a basically practice squad nickel, a #3 safety, and #5 LB, and trading away Jaylen Phillips. seriously that defense Miami put out had little to no talent and stopped us entirely by scheme. it was horrific. it was a travesty.

Coaches are heavily implying that Coleman isn’t trying on the field

My feeling is that Keon Coleman is not the only player giving a less than full effort this season. It's astounding to me how many vets on this team are doing nothing, and look completely disinterested in how the team is playing. -
This is why I keep coming back to scheme and passing design more than personnel. You can have different receivers running those same routes, but if the play calls are just as predictable it won’t matter.

Game week thread - Buccaneers at Bills
Livinginthepast replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think this game is going to play out like the last one vs TB. With Mayfield running around completing passes and our rushers chasing him like a Benny Hill sketch. I could even see it coming down to a last chance Hail Mary just like the last game. Our offensive game plan? No idea what to expect. -
I just go with Stinky and add a roman numeral after it in sequence

I think its highly likely the Bills leaked the information to try and get sympathy from their fans. "Oh look at least they tried!" The issue I take with that is the Bills have Beane, two assistant GMs, and a Pro Personnel Advisor in their front office. They are a well-staffed, highly paid group of football professionals. They had from October 13th when they lost to Atlanta and it was obvious they needed to make a move at WR, until November 4th at 4pm to get a deal in place. I appreciate they went big game hunting, but this team had over 21 days to make a move. They had draft picks, plenty of resources in the front office, and the backing of the owner to spend millions of dollars on a player beyond this year. Bottom line is they failed. Brandon Beane seems like the type of guy it'd be cool to golf or get a beer with, but he is arrogant as hell and it impacts his job. More than once he's become defensive about fan or radio host opinions about what the football team needs. He says stuff like "this isnt fantasy football" which is essentially him telling the moron fans that he knows more than they do. The fact is he likely does. But when Joe Six Pack in Cheektowaga knows you need a WR, and you tell him he doesnt know football, and Joe ends up right, maybe humble yourself a bit. Beane is famous for pounding the podium and getting emotional about the city of Buffalo and Bills fans. Thats great. That said, when you alienate your fans. When you yell at radio hosts for being stupid. You're the bully. Beane's life path may have led him to a football front office. But there are fans who have lived and died with this team for 30, 40, 50, even 60 years. Guys that shell out thousands of dollars for tickets, parking, and whatever new goofy jersey you happen to be selling for $150 dollars this year while making manufacturing job wages. So when you completely fail at your job while making millions, maybe do better than "this isnt fantasy football" or "It takes two to tango." Bills' fans are not stupid. None of us should feel bad for you when you try and blame the Dolphins or Jets for your failures. It just proves they arent as clueless as you were when you decided to make the Chiefs better. Next time you decide to pound a podium, take a minute and understand you don't speak for us. You've lost that right. Because when you go back to North Carolina with your millions, and the Bills are a distant memory for you, we will still be here. Your job is to go after a Super Bowl every year, not make excuses for why you cant.

I agree 13 personnel is becoming more popular. I also believe defensive minded head coaches, like McDermott will always embrace anything that protects their defense. This is especially true when you have a bad defense.

Hate to say this … but the Pats are effing good

I was speaking overall. I have no clue what their stats are, but overall, Allen has proven himself. Hell he won the MVP last year and know your acting like he is a scrub. 🙄 I was speaking overall. Here is the breakdown of who is ***** up. Josh is included.

It easily gets my vote for McDermott's worst game because of the lack of preparation (42 pass attempts in bad weather) and the team's lack of interest and effort. 13 Seconds was bad but the team showed up for that game.

Do you think the Chiefs would beat the Patriots as a 7th seed?
Gregg replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Ravens have won three in a row and still get to play the Steelers twice. They are healthy now and when healthy they have one of the best rosters in football. I think they are winning their division. I think this is the year the Ravens get past the Chiefs and represent the AFC in the Super Bowl. IMHO. -
Brady and McD both want to play the same way. Prevent McD- bend until you break Brady- Break Josh.

Thats the problem we got a once in a lifetime player and wasted it.

I understand this but I also think the offense looked good playing catch-up against the Ravens. They looked good being aggressive against KC. They looked better playing catch-up against Miami. I agree they aren't built to consistently play catch-up but I semi disagree with the idea that they aren't able to do it. I think it's more the conservative coaching. I think in our losses, we have gone away from our strengths. Against KC we hammered Cook and got the TE's involved. Against Miami, it took until our 4th drive to get Kincaid a target. In our loss to NE, Cook had 3 touches in our first 4 drives. In our loss to ATL, we gave up almost 300 yards in the 1st half so that may be a bit of an outlier -
After 9 years we all know the answer is NO.

so true on the greedy A banks and agents the Airbnb thing has been real bad for home buyers as well tho in certain parts of Buffalo some homes that would be great for local families go well over listing price, cash, to “investors” from outside cities who put it on Airbnb. And this is just Buffalo! I can’t imagine what that’s done to actual vacation states like Florida, California, etc

Coleman is very close to being a bust and off the team. There’s a lot of factors why, but what’s tanking him quick is his immaturity and his lack of professionalism. It’s not his fault he was drafted where he was, that he was given the job without any competition, and that he’s being used in a position that doesn’t maximize his talents. But, he’s clearly not doing the little things like showing up on time and playing balls to the wall every play. He isn’t good enough to have a diva attitude where he takes plays off, and that’s what is going to sink him. Brady is a huge problem. He has not advanced his scheme that was successful last year. I love a run first approach but the pendulum has swung way too far in that direction. Brady does not scheme his players open, rarely schemes against a defenses weaknesses, and does not put his players in a position to succeed. I’m praying that Gabe friggin Davis is the answer. I can’t believe I’m saying that. But, at the X position he can have the Amari Cooper effect and keep teams from dropping that over the top safety into the box and muddling the middle of the field. I’m praying that that is enough to open up the middle for the intermediate routes Josh is good at but poor at anticipating. Josh is spooked. He’s got the happy feet, looks a step slower, is hesitant to throw, is afraid of throwing picks, he’s a second late on all his decisions (run/pass). Get Gabe friggin Davis out there, let Josh throw some bombs and some picks to him, and maybe the fire will re ignite in him because he looks frustrated, checked out, not having fun. A happy Golden Retriever is much more effective than a woe is me depressed Golden.

T.J. Sanders to return to practice this week from IR
Livinginthepast replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Dolphins almost did it and the Jets are blowing it up way more than them. Beane has no problem trading with the Chiefs (not division but our biggest nemesis). Anything is possible with the right negotiation skills. And if not the Jets then he should have got help from somewhere else. We have no depth and the injuries are piling up. -
