  1. Past hour
  2. Idiocy to suggest this at this point based on play. Nowwwww if you wanted to make an argument on age + inflating contract numbers, maybe coupled with a bonafide tackle prospect dropping to us, where we shouldn't have been able to get him. Maybe he could have decent trade value in a scenario like that? Emotionally, id hate it... but its a business, and the right conditions could make the scenario attractive. However, hes been outstanding for a long time. Bad game vs Texans.... but hes likely banged up. I think there was a play that I saw a replay of where a concussion was reasonably suspicious... coulda been just a regular ol bad game. One bad game and some false starts, with hazy circumstances around it... no, I think this is an insane jump to throw this out there. We shall see
  3. The blocking should get more credit for Cook than people give it. We have a good line. We use more TE blocking sets, fullback blocking, WR blocking all probably more than any other team. I am not saying Cook isn't great. He is, but he isn't #1 in the league. A lot of his big runs are before contact. I was looking for another stat, that I didn't find yet, but I was surprised by this stat... Cook only ranks 15th at seeing 8+ in the box. I honestly thought it would be closer to the top but it isn't.
  4. Can we? Yes of course, and we have done it multiple times before. Did Sunday's game boost my confidence in them doing that this year, no it did not. The team I watched on Sunday did not look like a team that I would be comfortable wagering on to win out. The offense was atrocious first half and then found some life only because we kept running the same running play over and over again with success, TJ Watt literally said he never seen anything like that before. Outside the same running plays over and over again, the rest of the offense did not look good again. And while the defense was dominant, beating up on a bad Steeler offense doesn't suddenly make me forget all the issues the defense has had all year to where I think this is what we can expect week to week. To again answer the title of this thread - Yes, the Bills certainly can, and have done it before. But - my confidence in them being able to do it isn't as high as its been in the past when facing this potential. The team has been so Jeckyl and Hyde this season that its hard to know what we can expect week to week. Four things concern me still right now: Brady's predictability Too many turnovers Undisciplined mistakes Defensive consistency I hope they use this game to go on a run, and Bengals will certainly immediately test that. But, I would be lying if I said I was highly confident in us doing it this year.
  5. He's probably #3 this year, which is an amazing accomplishment considering who's out there. And he's not far from the best.
  6. yea, he’s not a guy with a playbook - so it’d be a situation where someone like Brady (or Sean Payton as an old coworker) might take him as a leader of men and more well paid line coach but I think we are safe and he will be a tremendous asset for us barring our own major shakeup. Even then, could be the type to be retained as Brady isn’t his guy specifically
  7. The album sucked and a bit creepy too! 😆
  8. Teef again with the holier than thou screed about how you should engage how he wants you to. For the millionth time and for those in the back. THIS PLACE IS THE SAME AS IT EVER WAS AND WILL NOT CHANGE. Well I take that back, never say never. You know when this place changes? When SDS decides that he's done with it and deep sixes it entirely. That's it. Complaining about the state of this place has been a constant from when I first joined the board and doing it will absolutely change nothing. Dont like it? Then don't come down here. Especially if this place isn't high on your priority list and you have a business to run.
  9. id have to listen to my patriots bride needle me until the end of time
  10. I don't think a loss this week ends KC's chances. The Colts are faltering and we'll see about Herbert's health. Even if Herbert is okay their schedule is BRUTAL. I can see both Indy and LAC ending up on the outside looking in while both the Chiefs and the Texans sneak in at 10-7.
  11. holding even a struggling offense to 7 points is remarkable, however.
  12. Gibbs all day and I love Cook
  13. There's a nice hike on the old trolley tracks path between Barcelona on Lake and Mayville on L.Chautauqua: Abandoned rail corridors. We would hike a few in Scouts as preparation for going to Philmont in New Mexico... I suppose they are better preserved and maintained today... https://www.tourchautauqua.com/directory/chautauqua-rails-to-trails
  14. You now, you're right about the Sabres stuff. The buzz out of the gate in '70 was wild, but making the playoffs in '72, and with Rock Star "Schoeny", it was like Bufalo's version of the Beatles landing in JFK. It exploded here with Sabre merchandise.
  15. Too bad Thibodeaux is out for the Giants
  16. Crazy, right? Not sure it passes the eye test. Guess we’ll find out on Sunday.
  17. Who were the young guys re-signed this past offseason? Rousseau, Benford, Bernard, and Cook. Cook was the one many people here didn’t think should happen. Now it looks like the best deal of the 4 with Benford right there as well. Are there any Cook haters left?
  18. I couldn't go to my Bills Bar yesterday, because I was helping my sister out with her moving to Texas, and spending the last two days getting everything out of our storage unit to avoid paying another monthly fee. Even though the Steelers-Bills game was on national television, CBS stuck me with Chargers-Raiders! When I had a break, I was reading the TBD game threads to get caught up. I was wearing a Bills sweatshirt and my white TRUMP hat. You're welcome.
  19. I'm gonna find me a hole in the wall I'm gonna crawl inside and die 'Cause my lady, now a mean ol' woman, Lord Never told me goodbye Can't you see, oh, can't you see What that woman, Lord, she's been doin' to me? Can't you see, can't you see What that woman, Lord, she's been doin' to me?
  20. if....big IF... we can get our ends back like we need by the playoffs & Ed can come back for at least the AFCC that will really help. the road to the playoffs will go through a few teams that would need him but ultimately start with at Baltimore or at Jacksonville. There's a big hill to climb to get out of the #5 seed. If we can get those cylinders firing on defense, continue to use good rotations with the CB's and safeties we may be able to shore things up. Damar Hamlin could be elevated, as well. I know that scares a lot of people but he is consistent even if below average to the hopes and dreams of all those here.
  21. The problem isn’t that some team can slip, it’s the fact that they have lost so many tiebreakers besides the Colts like you mentioned. It’s another huge one for tiebreakers when Houston meets KC. A KC loss ends any shot for them but a win now does give them tiebreakers over the Texans and Colts We’re gonna for sure get 2 AFC East, Two AFC West, the North Champions. The question is can the AFC South get that 3rd bid over the Chiefs or can another team catch fire down the stretch like the Steelers (highly unlikely). A team that can honestly do it is the Dolphins if you can believe that. They have Jets, Steelers, Bengals(all winnable), Tampa at home, and NE to end the season
  22. Eyeball test, agreed Milano absolutely had extra pep to his step yesterday. I dunno if hes been banged up as of late, as i have not even wanted to look into injuries... Hopefully that's it. I also worry the Steelers just arent very good, and also had a bad night. Ill leave it to someone smarter than me to look all-22. My likelihood guess is a mixed bag of some guys finally getting healthier as well as a bad night from Pittsburgh
  23. In my mind Anderson's future is revolving on whether he can be the LG next year. What are your thoughts on that? It's good he can sub in at RT if necessary. As a RFA next year, is a 2nd round tender too much for him? I'm thinking not. Having him in camp next year would be great.
  24. Super stoked we won - but taking off homer glasses and being unbiased, the team I watched play on Sunday didn't look like a team that can win out. 2 things happened that game that are pretty hard for me to come away feeling confident about on a weekly basis. How the offense produced - The offense greatly benefited from the Steelers offense being so bad and not capitalizing on all our mistakes and turnovers. But the more concerning thing for me was that the only way we could move the ball effectively was to keep running the same run play over and over again. Even TJ Watt said he had never seen anything like that where a team kept running the same play and they couldn't adjust or stop it. The rest of the offense was pretty bad again outside the success we kept having running the same runs over and over again. So I did not come away from this game feeling better about the offense personally. I still have a lot of concerns about Brady, I mean the first half was atrocious again, we were just lucky Steelers couldn't capitalize more. Our defense was dominant - great to see, but nothing about this defense overall this year makes me feel like what we saw on Sunday is something they can expect week in and week out. I hope they do, but after the season the defense has had, I can't just suddenly expect to see this kind of performance week to week and against better teams. So for me, I need to see the defense string together a series of games before I start buying maybe its figured something out. A win is a win, so very happy we beat the Steelers. But I would be lying if that game boosted my confidence back up. I hope they build on it for sure, but I didn't leave that game feeling like we turned a corner and about to go on a tear. We very well might, not saying we can't as we have done it before, but just saying how I felt after watching that game and what this team has looked like the past 8 weeks that resulted in a 4-4 record.
  25. Surprised CMC is not getting more mentions. He is having a historic season. Cook is a top 5 or 10. Here are others in that group: Taylor - Obviously CMC - Will have over 1,000 rushing and 1,000 receiving; Possible NFL record for scrimmage yards Bijan R - Also closing in on the 1,000 mark in both rushing and receiving Gibbs - Another dual threat back, lighter workload Henry - still a legit threat Barkley - still a legit threat Achane - under the radar legit dual threat
  26. What are you talking about? All RB's are relatively equal, thats why you never pay them.
