I don’t have to draw the line. And I can say that, wherever that line may be, a $100m yacht is on the wrong side of it. I won’t get political, but this conversation is dumbfounding when you think of the current political climate in this country. People, generally, are torqued about rich folks getting one of on little people. This guy’s business got a HUGE sum of money that likely won’t yield an ROI for the state or county. I would have supported the deal for intangible and intrinsic reasons. But it’s bad optics when the guy taking mounds of cash makes that tile of purchase. We disagree on the issue, but here’s where you’re wrong. I DO get a vote in the court of public opinion. And my vote is that I wouldn’t have bought the yacht if I was taking those public funds. You may disagree, and I may get voted down. But that’s my opinion and the reflection of my values.

The number one rule of getting public money for a stadium is never put it to a vote. It is what it is. I'm just happy the Bills are here for the rest of my lifetime.

All but $100M for a boat plus the full time staff, fuel, insurance, etc. a quick Google says a mega yacht requires about 10-15% of the total cost per year just to maintain and staff.... The NHL cap is just under $100M, about the same as his yacht. The return on $100M is about $5M per year, which is around what the Sabres have left on the table in cap every year. The interest on his yacht money could close the gap in salaries for th Sabres every year. It was the cost of replacing the score board that was well best it's life expectancy.

By the way, a little context on why Cracker Barrel wanted to ever-so-slightly revamp: Q3 last year: comparable restaurant sales down 1.6%. Comparable retail sales (all that "World's Best Grandpa" mug crap) down 6.7%. Maybe 6.7% fewer grandpas are the best in world as compared to 2023, or maybe tastes have changed and fewer customers want to buy stupid sh!t? So maybe they downsize the part of the outlet devoted to selling stupid crap and increase/modernize the part that has some hope of turning a profit? Just a thing, I am a bit outside of Tampa, and everyone is pretty much delayed due to thunderstorms... so it could be a while before they land... I would guess that we might get an update tomorrow before the game...

Agreed. Wilson even looks faster than he did at Alabama, I and I know this would not seem possible. He is still far from a speedster, but; he is very strong with a head of steam and is a vicious blocker. He is actually doing a little better in the NFL than I expected. The fact that Terry is (and always has been) responsible for a failing KBC and has done nothing/the bare minimum is so frustrationg. He ran the scoreboard for nearly 2x manufacturer recommendations. He allowed the roof to leak on fans for years and year. a roof that leaked on fans for years and years. Then on top of it, he is running the Teemu version of a real NHL franchise, leading the league in unused cap. And after all he that takes nearly $1B in public subsidy while buying a $100M yacht. I am starting to think that this Pegula character is not all that likable.
